A Narrow Escape

"Nothing. I was just wandering around you know." Kett replied, pulling out an innocent face. The cafeteria owner knelt on one knee and peered right into her face. "Oh really? I bet I know a thief when I see one." He said, sarcastically. "What do you mean, a thief?" Kett asked. "Wait! I'll show you." He yelled, pulling out the food kett stole, from underneath her rug. Her rug moved, revealing her body covered in blood. He looked at her with shock. "What have you been up to? He talked at last, finally getting his voice. "I- I- I was-" She stuttered, searching for a good enough lie.

He picked her up from her collar and put her on her feet. "I'm gonna turn you up to some authority." He said and pushed her towards a corridor. Soon they were walking along corridors and Kett suddenly remembered Sage. "He should escape." But there wasn't a way to warn him. Kett helplessly looked around. She couldn't find the path of her freedom. She was stuck with this man in these narrow corridors.

Suddenly, she stumbled on her foot and fell. The grip on her collar loosened. She looked at the cafeteria owner. Their eyes locked and soon she was looking deeper into his eyes. Her eyes turned into grey. Her teeth and grey nails were growing out. She focused hard and looked deeper and deeper into her eyes. She kept on until she lost consciousness. She saw the man falling down through her closing eyelids.

She woke up hearing a voice. someone was shaking her unconscious body.
