Chapter 24: The Revolution

I woke up with Xavier and Jace by my side sleeping. I went to the bathroom and freshened up to save my family from Burnout. I brushed my hair and teeth. I slipped on a green button front top, side stripe skinny jeans, and black zip front boots. I went out of the bathroom and downstairs for them to get ready. Jace had on his normal a leather moto jacket with a grey V-neck shirt and black skinny jeans with black combat boots. Xavier had on a red Henley tee and leather jacket, black coated jeans, and Lace-up oxfords.

I stood up and said, "You both look good. Now let's go." I demanded. We grabbed our blades and went off. I headed for the cave that I saw when we ran into a big hoard of zombies. We saw things fly in front of us and then someone stopped in front of me. Raphael was helping and he demanded he helped. I nodded and so we got closer to the cave and then stopped on the outside of it. "I'm going in alone and if I get into trouble I will whistle." I started walking towards the entrance and Jace, Xavier, and Raphael stood in my way.

"I'll be fine I promise." I smiled and I went in to hug them. We hugged then they stepped out of my way. I entered and walked quietly then I was stuck in place. I looked around when Landon came out from the dark and over to me. He stood in front of me and then I looked into his eyes and saw they were blue maybe like mine. Only my feet were still so if I lean in and touch his hand it might break the spell he was put on.

I grabbed his hands when I saw his eyes go from blue into his normal green. I whispered, "Follow what Burnout says. He put you under a spell. You should remember what he told you if I came here. Do it." "My daughter is in there and if he hurts her because I didn't obey, I don't know what I can do. I will listen until you whistle or something." I nodded my head then pretended to pass out and Landon put me kneeling in front of Burnout.

"Hope! Wake up!" My mom yelled. I immediately woke up and looked around not being able to move. I saw mom and Zach in a cage, but not dad. I tried to get up, but I couldn't. I looked over to Burnout who was coming forwards with Landon's daughter Macy. She came to me and sat next to me. I looked up to Burnout who was right in front of me. "Let us go please. You don't need us for anything. Macy stood up and went in front of Burnout looking at me. "I'm sorry I have to."

I closed my eyes and saw a vision of mom. She was in high school and happy. Then it fast forward to the explosion. Then to me battling a walker, saving mom from a bite. I came back looking at Macy. She had brown hair like Landon, but it was braided into ponytails. She wore a purple long sleeve with a jean jacket, light blue skinny jeans, and black and white converse. She went back to Burnout's side and then he stepped forward.

"You are very important to my whole clan. You and your brother of course." He said while laughing. I looked at Zach and winked at him. "Where is my dad?" I demanded. He told me, "Where do you think?" I looked around and saw my dad nowhere in sight. I looked and Burnout was in the dark and his helmet off. He stepped towards me in the light and leaned down. "It can't be! Why?" I asked. "You and your brother are the key to everything. The…" He told me. He got caught off guard when he saw Raphael's group, Jace, and Xavier with Burnout's minions. "Put them in cages, except for The blond, the dirty blond, and the dark black hair. They forced everyone else in cages and Jace, Xavier, and Raphael kneeled down on me.

I had tears going down my face when Burnout took his hand out and forced my face up towards him with my chin. "I'm your father." He spoke. I had no idea he was Burnout. "Minions come! Pick up… Wait what's your names?" He asked. "Jace, Xavier, and Raphael." I told him. "Right pick them up and put knives by their throat and hold them there. Any wrong moves and you will be gone." He demanded laughing. "Andrew! You don't have to do this!" My mom begged. I wanted to know why we were the key, so I asked him the question, "Why are we the key to everything?"

"You are the key because you can save the world with a price to pay." He spoke. I looked at Zach then to Burnout. I realized we had no back up if anything goes wrong. He left outside with his staff of fire and burnt the forest. He walked back in over to my mom. He unlocked the cage and forced her up towards the throne. He stood there with a knife to her neck. "Unlock the cage for the boy and release Hope." He demanded. I stood up and Zach ran over to me. "Please don't do this. What's the price and I'll do it? Don't hurt anyone." I begged.

"The price is your lives. And any messing up I'll start with your mother." He spoke. I moved my hands behind my back and pulled out my blade quietly. I moved it out and over to Jace and slit the minions head off. Jace was free and then Burnout said, "I'll do it." I stood there and waited patiently. A minion came over and threw Jace's blade to the ground. "You messed up. Did I not warn you?" He told me. "No, No, no please don't!" I begged and begged. He slit moms throat and fell to the ground. Zach and I ran over to mom and kneeled by her.

"I will kill him and find a way to make peace with you." I said crying. Mom smiled then she stopped breathing. "MOM! MOM! Wake up!" I yelled. Zach stood and charged at Burnout. He sliced his right hand off and then grabbed his minions and killed the rest of Raphael's clan. I sat there crying and crying. I leaned over her and shut her eyes. Jace, Xavier, and Raphael ran over here. Landon came over with Macy covering her eyes and said, "Thank you Hope. I will help you seek your mother's killer." He spoke. I looked up and said, "The killer. Yeah, right like my dad is a murder in cold blood." I told him.

"My brother and I are the key to take all the zombies out and the price is us dying." I said and walked out of the cave. I cried and cried and kicked a rock hard. I ran my hand through my hair and heard footsteps. I looked and felt something grab me by my mouth and bring me back. I struggled and punched him in the gut. I turned around when he released me, and I saw Simon. "Ow! You really know how to defend yourself." He spoke. He held his stomach and came over to me. I ran to hug him and said, "Mom is dead, and dad is Burnout." He looked at me and Hayley came out of the woods and hugged me. I showed them into the cave and to my mom. I looked at my hand and they were red from mom's blood.

"I'm going to head back home and stop by the waterfall to wash my hands before I entered the town." I told them I started walking out when Simon, Xavier, and Hayley said they would stay. Raphael and Jace came with me to protect me, and the others would carry mom home. We made it to the waterfall, and I bent down and washed my hands. I heard a snap and jumped at the sound and fell in the water. Jace looked and tried to find what it was that made the snap. Raphael jumped in after me and stood me up. Jace ran off to find what it was leaving Raphael and me alone.

I looked into his eyes and said, "Thanks." He smiled and helped me out of the water. I was soaked and cold. We started walking back in silence and then Jace came with us. He said he saw a rabbit. We entered and later Xavier, Zach, Simon, and Hayley carried my mom in. We took her inside and laid her on the floor. I took a wet rag and a bowl of water and cleaned her neck. I washed her and then put her in a white dress that had lace everywhere. I curled her hair and picked some of the flowers me and Zach use. We carried her out and into a casket and put the flowers in her hands.

I wore a black medium dress and black buckled ankle boots with my hair down. Jace wore his normal. Xavier, Simon, and Raphael wore a black tux. Hayley wore a black dress like mine. Simon and Hayley went in together. I was walking down the stairs when Xavier, Jace, and Raphael were there waiting for me. I got down and they all three went in with me then the ceremony began. I cried then we buried her and went back inside.

I went to my room and changed into green lace cardigan top and grey sweatpants. Then I started writing. (Hey mom, I wanted to tell you that you have been the best. I wanted to say I'm sorry. I knew I had to defeat Burnout, but only with you and Zach. I don't know if I'll ever have a life like you. You went to high school. I want to and I will make sure it happens. I will find a way for me and Zach to stay alive when the time comes. Burnout ran away and got his hand cut off. I will destroy him for what he has done to this family. I love you mom. Rest in peace.) I ended it and went back to my bed and sat down. I laid back and shut my eyes. I was angry and he will pay. He will die. I opened my eyes and said, "This is a revolution happening."
