Chapter 97: Fishing for a Kaslana

Griseo, Kalpas, and Kosma were right in front of the gang. Griseo went up to him and hugged him tight. "Ein. You're back, welcome home." She caressed his lower back and smiled at him.

"Umu, I am. Wait a minute, you're not calling me Ein-nii." He pouted at her and Griseo huffed. "I'm already a grown ass woman Ein. You have to give something of equal value for me to call you that." She gave him a mischievous smirk and Ein looked at the 4 that came with her.

"She really is kinda like him. It's freaky." Sakura shivered and thought that Griseo might get under their skin just like him and Ein was already enough.

"Hehe~ It's amazing, Griseo-chan mimics him well!" Kallen looked at the cute and legal loli that now has a mature feel. And Kallen thought it was gap moe.

"Hmmm? Are they your new lovers Ein? Did you guys did the dirty?" She then laughed and Ein sighed. "Griseo, let me fix you up." He misses the cute and innocent loli and reset his influence on her.

"Ein-san. Are they possibly comrades of mine from back then as well?" Hua started remembering things and was curious about the 3 that arrived.

"Umu, they are Kalpas and Kosma. Kalpas... He didn't really get along with anyone except probably Kevin and me. While Kosma idolized Kevin a bit too much you see, so he acts all cold but inside, he is a softie." He introduced them and Griseo suddenly gave a comment.

"Un, Kosma likes girls under the age of 12." Everybody went silent while Ein did a straight face. Not even a single fiber of muscle on his face twitched while he held his laugh.

"Griseo..." Kosma looked at her with panic on his face, absolutely horrified at the 1st impression with Kallen and Sakura. "Ahhh, my bad. Under the age of 10 I mean."

Kallen choked on her saliva while Sakura almost drew her blade. "No! It's not only girls!" Kallen was aghast, she now knew that the priests of various religions molested children of varying ages and genders. She was about to enter her honkai cascade form and beat the shit out of him.

"He likes to play with kids, let's leave it at that." Ein winked at them and the 2 girls sighed in relief. "You could've said that earlier Ein-san." Kosma sighed in relief, but things were a bit too close for his comfort.

"Hahaha! You shouldn't imitate Kevin too much Kosma, or you'll end up as a corpse." Kalpas gave a side comment. "Yeah, or you could play with Kalpas, he likes dolls and plushies after all. Just a bit older, but he's got the spirit."

Ein gave a thumbs up and Kalpas paled under his mask. Everyone even Mobius was surprised, and she doesn't get surprised at these kinds of things. "Fufufu~ So little Kalpas likes those huh?" Mobius snickered and he glared at her like she killed his whole family tree.

He then started to heat up. "You and me, right now. You must've forgot who used to kill you for your experiments Mobius..." His voice was seething and she smiled sweetly at him.

"Ara~ whatever do you mean little Kalpas? If you want to play, then let's go?" She looked at Ein and he sighed, teleporting them to the training room that was solid Neutronium.

Kalpas noticed Mobius was unusually calm, he was sure he is stronger than her, but something is wrong. "You must be confident snake. I'll show you how wrong you are in your assumptions."

MEI shook her head and left. "How many broken limbs and bones would Kalpas have?" She started asking the others with their comms and they started betting.

"Hehe~ Come then little lab rat, show me what you're made of." Mobius taunted him and Kalpas got angry, boosting his strength to the max because she can just revive again.

"DIE!" He gave a hook that would've instantly killed Mobius if it was clean hit, but that was before she received training and the gene seed.

She raised her hand and caught his fist. Releasing a shockwave at their point of contact that was like a typhoon. "Heh~ How the mighty have fallen Kalpas." She then clenched her fist and in a speed that he couldn't see, punched him right on abdomen that made him puke blood.

The uppercut made him fly to the high ceiling and the rebound almost broke his spine. Bouncing back to the ground, Mobius was waiting for her and she kicked him like a ball. All of his ribs shattered into dust and he bounced all over the walls like a bouncy toy.

He then stopped in front of her feet, he was ragged. His chest was depressed inside, his limbs were broken and he could barely breathe and grasp his consciousness, all of his internal organs ruptured.

"Ooohh, damn. That's gotta hurt." Kallen made a comment and Sakura looked at her like she was crazy.

"Guhahaha! This power is amazing! Taste the emperor's power heretic!" She got the compulsion because of intense gratefulness and she didn't even got embarrassed.

"She's fully accepted it huh?" MEI cringed from the thought of her saying those lines. "Umu, I've raised her well. She's now a full blooded primarch of mine. Don't worry though MEI, it's just for Mobius because she would get crazy like that."

All of them sighed in relief and they started healing up Kalpas that was now unconscious. "You didn't have to hit him again Mobius, though it was some nice data." Vill gave her a thumbs up and wanted her own gene seed as well. But production was hard because of the low amounts of Adamantine.

"Okay people move along now." They quickly got to their stations and started working again. He then entered the quantum sea to make more Adamantine and try finding Kevin or Elysia.

"Okay, let's start the program 1st and voila." He started the mass production, it can only make miniscule amounts. But it was better than doing it manually, he then started wandering the sea. Going deeper and deeper, they deployed Adamantine nano bots that were to find the genes of Parvati combined with a human.

They found out Kevin was deep in the abyss and he was in a bubble universe that was created from his memories and honkai energy, he was the battery that kept the universe going.

"Hmmm, he's supposed to be here." He entered the bubble universe and the location he appeared in seems to be the head quarters back then.

"I'll try to find him then. Where's that little bugger." He roamed around while trying to get a feel on where Kevin was. He then arrived at a scene.

"Kevin... I'll never forgive you and MEI." He saw Sakura's last moments at the previous era in which she cursed Kevin and MEI. While the now 1st Kaslana clenched his fist and gritted his teeth.

"Why does this happen. All of it went to hell when he disappeared... Ein, what should I do? I didn't ask for any of this. All I wanted was to be with MEI, is that too much to ask?" He fell down on his behind and leaned on a wall.

Hua then appeared after using Fenghuang down to immobilize the zombies. "Kevin-san, I've neutralized every infected inside the base." She noticed that their brains were not affected by honkai energy normally, and used Fenghuang down to immobilize the whole base.

Kevin looked at her and nodded. "Good work Hua, but it's already too late. Humanity has lost, the 12th herrscher is contained, though it was able to launch every missile on our remaining sanctuaries." He then gave a mocking smile.

"Kevin-san... Sorry I wasn't able to stop it in time. All of our cities... Gone just like that, Dr. Ein worked hard to keep our populations up. And now it's all up in smoke." She said without any malice. But it hit Kevin hard, he felt powerless and needed a break. A break from the cruel fate called life.

"Funny isn't it Hua. We were made to be his extensions. A helping hand to ease the burdens on his shoulders that carry the weight of the world. But the moment he disappears, it all comes crashing down." He was disappointed in himself as a leader.

"Kevin-san... I think you shouldn't even try to compare yourself to Dr. Ein. I would dare say that he is a machine. An organism that endlessly adapts, honestly. He would be much much stronger if he left us all behind and pursued absolute power."

She sighed and thought that he is limiting himself a lot by not letting go of his humanity. No matter how small is left, he was in a fine line between a deity and a human.

"For sure. I don't want to know what will happen if he fights without worrying about the surroundings." They then felt tremors that was the result of the missiles. Destroying the human settlements of humanity. Signifying their ultimate defeat in the war, and all it took was just a few months.

"Let us go. I can't sit here idly." They then left and the surroundings distorted, it was the time where Kevin 1st held Adam. His 1stborn child.

"What a fitting name. The 1st natural mix of a honkai beast and human. Adam." He was delighted, he thought that his family with MEI would reach the next era and they will live happily. But Su came in with bad news.

He quickly went to his lover's office. And all he saw was her body corrupted with honkai energy. And she already breathed her last. Elysia couldn't heal her anymore. Ein has left his final message and hope for the new era.

He gritted his teeth and clenched his fists hard enough to draw blood. Vowing that the honkai will be defeated in due time.

As he takes a final look at MEI, she was then buried underneath the earth. The love of his life would never be seen again. They then entered the base and started to enter the cryopods.

But he saw his team crumble into the ground. Mobius' usual eyes filled with curiosity and insanity was hollow. Devoid of life and hope that Ein wished them. Aponia's lifeless eyes were still and unmoving, her body was only being kept moving with pure discipline.

Elysia's cheery and ever optimistic outlook in life turned to denial, getting more depressed as the seconds passed. Phyllis counted her coins in a corner, mumbling that they were the 1st ones she made with him. Vill-v started to get unstable and her personalities changed every few seconds, but all of them were downtrodden. Even the ever stoic expert in her had a distant look in her eyes. While Eden sang the very 1st song they made, her voice cracking and her eyes filled with tears. The setting sun illuminating her golden eyes that showed her will to die along with him.

They entered the pods one by one. Kevin didn't got affected immediately, needing a special pod that put him in stasis. And he saw Mobius argue with Eden.

"I've lost my dream, my career. And also my other half... Like a star that burned brightly, but eventually lost its fuel that keeps it going. Now, there's only one thing left for me... And that is to leave my legacy behind and come with him."

She then went outside at the wastelands while Elysia followed suit, he then lost consciousness.

And everything returned back to the start. The moment that was stuck to him the most, his failures haunting him. "Hah, he's been through a lot. I guess Su activating project Regulator was a given. It was only a matter of time after all." He was informed by MEI that the reason he might be in the sea was project regulator. That's also why Su might be missing.

"Hey, what's up Kevin? Enjoy swimming in the sea?" Ein showed up while he was talking with Hua. And the bubble universe started to get unstable.

"E-Einheri!? But how? You left your final message!" Kevin felt complicated, at 1st. He was happy that they will now surely win against the honkai. And at the other, he was afraid and dejected that he failed as the leader of the flame chasers.

"Well, shit happens. I come back, I of course do amazing things, do your great grand daughter. The usual." He shrugged and Kevin choked on his saliva, coughing violently at his words.

"Now come on little prince of Chiba high. We got things to do and your swimming session here is over." He grabbed Kevin and they teleported back to the base.

"Oh? Uncle Kevin's back. You look the same as ever, cold and boring." Griseo hit him in the feels and struck while the iron was hot.

"Ooh, you're gonna need more than Parvati's ice to heal that." He high fived Griseo and he felt something that was forgotten by him for thousands of years fighting the honkai. He felt at home.
