Chapter 89: Doppelganger

"Everyone, we need to supply Ein with our honkai energy. It's to revive some people, and you won't believe who is it." Mobius asked the others and they raised a brow.

"I guess, we don't use it much anyways. Let's go then." Vill walked to the location of their base and everybody followed.

They then saw the 3 black rocks. "Is this it? Who are they anyway? Are they important?" Phyllis asked and Ein just patted her head. "Don't be too impatient Phyllis, it's a surprise. Though I don't think you'll be elated with one of them." He smiled wryly and remembered that MEI didn't really got along with Phyllis.

She always got scolded by MEI whenever she played inside MOTH, especially when she entered COCOON and abandoned the mission. "Okay, pardon my reach for a bit. This can get uncomfortable." He inserted his fingers inside their back and made a connection with his body.

He received tons of honkai energy, especially from Aponia that had a large reserve. She always had hers in control and could contain more. Only Kevin and Elysia had more than her.

His horns appeared at full length and because of the sudden surge, his cores started to reactivate. Giving him a pretty nice boost. "Okay! I'll start, Mobius, Vill. Be on standby to put them inside the capsule if this fails. I need to concentrate." He started to open the 1st and most difficult to heal, MEI.

The carapace cracked and the scientist was revealed. Her body had terminal stage honkai corruption, skin turning jet black and yellow lines littered her body. He immediately started to extract damaged cells, recreating her body.

Vill gave her a dose of nano bots to help repair her while Mobius monitored MEI's body. "Just a little bit more..." Ein had an easier time because of his stem cells already inside her and did an upgrade to her physique. Combining the stigmata with his less aggressive cells that will make her basically immortal like the MANTIS.

"Whew, that's a wrap." He looked at the time and an hour passed. "Let's put her inside the capsule just to be sure. But everything is all green, she will wake up later." Mobius put her inside a capsule to better monitor her.

He repeated it with SAKURA and RIN, surprising Phyllis. Mobius and Vill had their suspicions and they were right about the stem cells. A shame that it wasn't made earlier they thought.

SAKURA opened her eyes 1st, she was a MANTIS and it was expected. "Einnn. Is that you? Did we win? I definitely died back then..." She looked around and saw RIN, without the bullet holes on her body, making her prop right up.

"RIN! Is she alive? Is she!?" Mobius was shaked hard by her and Ein chopped her on the head. "Yes, so calm down. It was a good decision on my part, thankfully the gamble worked." He smiled tenderly and SAKURA started to sob.

"Ein... It was awful when you went missing. MOTH got chaotic and RIN turned into a herrscher. Where's keBin, that bastard! I'll definitely teach him a lesson!" She remembered Kevin and MEI's decision to lock her up, and because of it. They ultimately died with almost the rest of humanity.

Ein gave a look to Vill and Aponia. They then tried to hide MEI that was floating inside a capsule. SAKURA noticed and saw the scientist. "Calm down girl. MEI had to do it, though it was the wrong decision. You do remember that herrschers were always genocidal right? Though they can retain their personalities and sensibilities, it was a rough time back then. At least RIN is here."

She then gritted her teeth and thought about it. Noticing that he was right, she started to calm down. "Wait, if we died. Then MEI did as well? What really happened after that incident?" She was confused and they started to explain up to the 14th herrscher.

"Umu, it is now the future?" She looked at RIN and thought that now things were calmer. She would be able to enjoy a normal life with Ein and her sisters by covenant.

"Alright, I will at least leave MEI alone. But keBin would definitely taste the bite of my sword." Vill then told them what he was up to and why he is missing.

"He went bonkers huh? Well, Kevin didn't really understand project Stigma and MEI was too busy to explain it to him. Hah, what the hell are you doing MEI. You know the guy's crazy about you." He massaged his temples and because of her lapse in explaining things to Kevin, he was now deep inside the sea of quanta and Su was missing.

"Let's forget about project Veluka and Ember, they're obvious failures. Mobius, you created the stigmata with MEI, let's make it more compatible to normal humans, especially males. And we need to find Elysia and Eden, but it will be a challenge. Let's build nano bots to find a trace of my specific dna and honkai energy. We have plenty of time."

Everybody nodded and the other 2 that were asleep started to stir. "Ugh. Nee-chan, Ein-nii. They're all after me." RIN was having a nightmare and SAKURA hugged her tight.

"RIN! I'm here! Your sister's here... It's okay, Ein managed to save us." She opened her eyes and gasped. Taking in mouthfuls of air, she then saw SAKURA and Ein, making her relax.

He patted her head softly and hugged her tight as well. "It's okay baby girl. No one's gonna hurt you now." She started to cry and sniffle, snuggling at their arms.

MEI then opened her eyes slowly, she then examined the room and squinted her eyes at everyone. "I'm supposed to be dead. Why are you guys here? Is this a hallucination that occurs when people die? Or perhaps I'm in heaven or something?" She scoffed at the idea but stranger things has happened when she was alive.

"Yeah, you're in hell. Now you can relax and watch this." Ein took out a t.v. and played the video where she was in a date with Kevin. And 2 girls that looked just like her but in traditional japanese clothing started to dance while flirting with him.

"Wh-what!? Who the hell is that!? I'll never do that!" It looked so real. Then they changed clothes into a maid. "Master Ein~ Do you like this loyal servant's outfit?" Ei and Makoto spoke with mirth in their voice while wearing a slutty maid cosplay.

"Ahhhh! Make it stop! Please!" She thought that it really was hell and pulled on her hair. But Ein, Phyllis, and Vill started to laugh. Almost busting a gut from Mei's reaction.

"Yo, welcome back to the land of the living MEI. It seems you've done some bad things while I'm away huh?" Ein smiled while his eyes were closed. Making MEI look at SAKURA and RIN.

"Wait. Why am I alive? Where's keBin and Adam?" She was confused. Ein touched her forehead and information popped in her head. "Hmmm, think about it later. What you need is a good punishment, RIN died because of your lapse in judgement." MEI cringed from his words and she couldn't look at the pink haired siblings.

"Wear this. And read this out loud, we have tons of time. You have to perfect it, now practice well." He handed a school uniform to her and a script. "Wait, Ein-sama. Let me." Aponia then used her discipline on MEI so she'd be able to perform immediately.

"Nice! Let's get the show on the road then." They then entered a simulation room and Ein prepared his filming equipment. The room changed and it was now looking like a school.

Kevin appeared and was acting like a cringey high school kid. "Action!" Ein clapped and started filming.

"Hey m'lady." Kevin was wearing a fedora and greeted MEI. "It's a beautiful day innit? Just like you." He winked at her and MEI put a hand on her chest. "Kyaaa!~~~ keBin-sama just greeted me! I can die now!" She acted like a fangirl and all the girls except Aponia cringed hard.

"Uhhh. Ein-nya. Don't you think it's a little too much?" Ein put a finger on her lips and glared at her. "Shush, you cannot understand my decisions girl. I pursue the ultimate arts!"

"Ahhh, would you like to accompany me for a walk m'lady? A goddess such as you will make my day." Kevin touched her hand and MEI went stiff.

"I... I'll never wash this hand again! keBin-sama, please sign an autograph for me! And yes, I'll walk with you forever!" She took out a picture book in her bag and handed it to him. She then clinged to him like crazy.

"Ahhh~ It seems I am loved by my goddess. Lady luck smiles at me." He signed the photos and touched MEI's cheek. She then leaned in for a kiss, but Ein clapped and shouted. "Cut! All good! This flick is my magnum opus. An opportunity as good as this won't come again for a long time."

MEI then gained her wits and looked at her outfit and gasped. "Ein... We can talk about this." He then started to edit the film and MEI saw it in all of its glory.

She turned pale and suddenly crouched down on the ground. "I can't live anymore. They all saw it too." She spoke in monotone and Mobius patted her on the back. "Such a good performance MEI, as a woman of science. It certainly was good. Good enough to amuse me."

They then returned to the surface, leaving MEI alone in the base. "Sakura, Kallen! Come here girls. Let me introduce you to my family." He gave a smile and the 3 looked at them curiously. Rin came with, excited to see his family.

Sakura almost choked on her saliva when she saw RIN and SAKURA. "Ein... Wh-who are they?" He put them forward and they were surprised as well.

"SAKURA and RIN, meet Sakura and Rin. I think you guys look pretty alike, you'll surely get along well." The 2 Sakura's pointed at each other and was speechless. While the 2 Rin's shaked hands and looked at their sister.

"Ooh! Do I have a lookalike too?" Kallen was surprised, but immediately started to look for her look alike. "Well, your grand mother is here but doesn't look like you. You do resemble your grand father though, but he's busy swimming." Kallen tilted her head and Ein just patted her head.

"This is insane! I can't do this anymore." Sakura sighed and looked at her counterpart. "Nice to meet you... Uhhh, SAKURA-san?" They looked at each other and shaked hands. But then an awkward silence came.

"Hehe~ Lighten up a bit!" Ein pinched SAKURA's ears and she moaned. Yae frowned because it was the very same as her voice. Especially when she does the dirty at night, remembering his touch on her legs.

"Ein! They're right there! Stop it..." SAKURA blushed and the 2 pinkettes looked at each other, not knowing what to say.

Ein then took a breath of air. "Ahhh, such a good day. It would even be better if keBin can see my masterpiece as well with Elysia, Eden, and Griseo." He then thought of them, hoping they'll find them easily. Though he decided to enjoy the chaos for now.

MEI then appeared and looked at Kallen, narrowing her eyes at her. "She's my descendant?" She looked haggard from earlier's shenanigans and was feeling complicated in seeing Kallen. She then remembered Adam and felt melancholic.

"Yeah, say hello to your great great great... Grand daughter MEI, give her some missed birthday presents okay? Treat her well in Adam's stead." Ein then took a picture of them and was thinking of selling it to Kevin with the flick for an absurd amount later.
