In a dark gloomy cave that was occasionally lit with crystals of unknown origin, a blue slime could be seen wandering around

'Another one....' the slime exclaimed in its thoughts as it encompassed the crystal with it's whole body and consumed it

Unlike what was usually seen, this slime moved in a weird way while it consumed those crystals

The blue slime continued to move in a unusual way, because while it has been a slime for a while, it still couldn't erase the years it lived as a human

'This is so booooring' The slime once again thought

'At least I have the Chat Room and Great Sage... Otherwise I would have gone crazy from loneliness' The slime was thankful towards the Chat Room and it's members

After all, without it, the slime would have becone lonely without any human contact in so long

Tap~ Tap~ Tap~ Tap~

The sound of foot steps could be heard echoing throughout the silent cave

Of course, the slime couldn't hear this sound, and it remained unaware of the presence nearby until...

The slime felt someone pulling it from behind and trapping it in place

'What!?' The slime exclaimed in both surprise and confusion at why it couldn't move anymore

[Notice: Unknown attacker detected, the attacker appears to be humanoid]

The slime ignored [Great Sage] as itstruggled to move the attackers arms and free itself from whatever caught it

Seeing that it couldn't move an inch of the arms that were trapping it, the slime quickly turned around to see who or what trapped it and take a glance

Of course, the slime couldn't really see anything as it has lost a lot of its senses

But seeing that the slime turn around and looking at him, the man that caught the slime opened his mouth and spoke "Hey slime-chan, how are you holding up in this depressing cave?"

The slime was still in a daze as it tried to comprehended why something appeared and grabbed it when it was sure that there weren't any living being other that itself and some monsters in this cave

"Oh, I forgot that he couldn't see or hear anything at this point in time"

[Devourer has sent you a private message]

The notification interrupted the slime's daze

The slime glanced in confusion at the notification wondering why the Admin would sent him a private message at this time

Still, the slime opened the message as it was curious

[Devourer: Focus your senses outward and feel the magicules in the air. Then observe how those interact with the world around it and convert that into usable knowledge]

'Huh?' The slime looked baffled at the message that it was reading

Although the slime was confused, it still decided to do as the Admin told it, even though it was complicated

The slime focused outward and the tried to sense the magical energy in the air

'It's not working... ' the slime thought with frustration

'Great Sage! I choose you!' The slime shouted in his mind for his trusty Great Sage to help him

<Confirmed. Beginning decryption....Success>

<[Magic Perception] has been acquired>

That's all the slime heard before a burst of myriad of colors overwhelmed the slime's vision and caused tremendous pain on it as it couldn't handle the mental strain

It could feel more, it now had its senses back that were previously lost with its reincarnation

But with the help of [Great Sage], the slime quickly adjusted to it's new senses and intently focused at the person in front of it

And it saw...

Even without hormones, the slime felt heat creeping up it's cheeks and coloring them a faint pink hue on it's otherwise blue body

In front of the slime was a young handsome teenager. He had pale skin with silver hair that reached his shoulders and glowing golden orbs that stared intently at it

The handsome teenager smiled at the slime when he saw how flustered it was, something which made the blue slime blush even more

The teenager brought one hand up and waved at the slime

[Devourer: Hi!]

The slime blanked out after seeing this message, various thoughts crossing its mind with the help of Great Sage's thought acceleration

And it quickly reached a ridiculous conclusion that made the slime even more cunfused

[I'm a slime, so what?: It's you!?]

The handsome teenager in front of the slime just chuckled and nodded "Indeed"

[I'm a slime, so what?: You are hand- Wait no! How are you even here?!]

"I used the world travel card in the shop, stupid slime-chan~" The teenager exclaimed this time without using the Chat Room

The slime's blue cheeks once again took up a red color upon seeing that nick name

[I'm a slime, so what?: Oh! I see!.... But is it so simple?]

As the slime could now hear him, it needed to reply with the Chat Room to communicate because it still couldn't talk

"Not really, I need permission from the Chat Group member to visit their world"

The slime got confused at this. It couldn't recall getting a notification from the Chat Room

[I'm a slime, so what?: I don't remember you asking me permission...?]

"Why, as the Admin, I have extra privileges~" He said cheerfully

The slime noticed that Devourer was acting a bit different...

He was acting more...playful?...Less serious?...Maybe as if a burden was eased off his shoulders?

[I'm a slime, so what?: Hey devourer, what happened?....You sound.... Happier?]

The slime saw Devourer in reality freeze for a second, before snapping out of it, a genuine smile adorning his face

It was a... Beautiful smile

"Now that I don't have to worry about dying in my world, I guess I feel... More relieved and more free than I ever have in this life..." he trailed off

"Call me Adam, by the way" Adam insisted

The slime looked a Devou-

No, the slime looked at Adam's genuine smile, and felt like... It wanted to befriend him

Maybe it was because he was the first person it met since it reincarnated

Or maybe it was because the human inside it wanted companionship, and Adam could fill the void inside it that accumulated in those dark days. .. Something that even Great Sage and the Chat Room couldn't fill in

Of course, maybe it's also because every man the slime saw in it's previous life couldn't even hold a candle to Adam in terms of appearance... And all women in the slime's previous would definitely kill to have a man like Adam, even if it was only for his appearance

Of course, the last point was it's human hormones rearing it's ugly head... But the slime didn't dislike this

[I'm a slime, so what?: Hey Adam. Wanna go and explore this cave together?]

The slime asked hopefully, fearing rejection

'I shouldn't be selfish and force him in this gloomy-'

The slime stopped it's thoughts as Adam's charming smile shifted into a predatory grin

"Of course! It's time to live up to my nickname and devour some monsters!"

The slime sighed inwardly, relieved that its proposal got accepted

'Devourer..? Devour...? Maybe it's like my predator' the slime thought as it carefully looked at Adam's message

[I'm a slime, so what?: Can you let me go first? It's kinda...]

Even though it was a slime now, it was still bashful as Adam tightly hugged it without any reservations

It wasn't uncomfortable... It was just embarrassing

Adam looked at the message and then looked down at the slime he was holding in his arms and smirked at it

"Nope. It's very confortable holding you" he decidedly rejected the slime

"Although if this continues, you may become a pink or red slime.. But it's kind of cute seeing a slime blush" Adam smiled as he teased the poor slime

[I'm a slime, so what?: ....]

The slime didn't message anything back in the Chat Room... But its cheeks felt hotter again

The slime isn't used to being teased continuously

[I'm a slime, so what?: I feel like I'll regret exploring with you]

"There are no take backs slime-chan~You will have to put up with me from now on" He told the slime as Adam just started chuckling without remorse, to the continued embarrassment of the slime

"Let's go and explore slime-chan! I bet you're also quite hungry yourself!" he excitedly told the slime once again

[I'm a slime, so what?: W-wait-!]

Without giving the slime any time to answer, Adam started running deeper towards the cave, a slime in his hands tightly hugged as he searched for monsters to test his new skills

Reading this chapter again, it feels a little..... cringe

But oh well, Rimuru is a cool slime, so who wouldn't want to befriend it... Although it is a little different in this fan fiction as I've changed something
