27 Cooking with... The Herrscher of Cooking

"This is interesting…" Adam muttered as he stared at the traditional Japanese house in front of him, that was now unusually deserted.

In this life, he had gotten used to the luxuries of the world. As a man, a handsome one at that, he had it easier in life in comparison to other people. Still, he was a little awed at how luxurious this particular house was.

5 days have passed since he met Mei at the cafeteria, it is now the weekend. And since then, he usually kept her company.

He quickly snapped out of his reverie as he went ahead and rang the doorbell, not delaying it any longer.

Not long after, Mei in her casual clothes opened the door.

"Come in, Adam-kun." She welcomed him with a smile on her face, her eyes conveying a surprising amount of joy

"Thank you." Adam replied with a nod, following her inside

This is obviously her house. One would be questioning what a teenage boy and girl were doing in a house, all alone at that.

The answer to that question was… He was here to teach her cooking.

… He didn't really know what was going through Mei's head when she asked him to visit her house and teach her. What could he, an amateur, teach the best chief of the honkai impact world?

And besides…

"Mei-san, aren't you too trusting to invite a boy to your home only after two weeks of knowing each other?" He inquired curiously. He wondered if Mei was more desperate for friends than he thought.

'Maybe it's because I'm too charming?' He thought to himself, he wondered if [Chosen One] was a lot more overpowered than he thought.

[....]

'Nah, it may have helped. But I'm sure that it isn't the reason.' he concluded.

"I am sure you're not that kind of person, right?" Mei replied, smiling brightly at him even though her eyes were telling a completely different story

While she was a gentle girl, her nickname of 'Thunder Queen' Raiden Mei in Chiba academy wasn't a joke, so one shouldn't underestimate the fierceness of this seemingly vulnerable girl

"Besides, I trust that you are only here to teach me cooking and nothing else, am I wrong?" She continued, a bright smile on her face.

'"...."

He didn't say anything, he just took in her figure, from her cold eyes, to her considerably large breasts, down to her thighs that were clad in black stockings.

Adam nodded appreciatively, acknowledging her tempting beauty

"Although Mei-san is very beautiful, I prefer to remain alive." He said with a small smile on his face.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you met an anime girl in real life? Well, Adam was in this situation, Mei looked a lot more beautiful than she was portrayed in the game, so much so that he even took many glances at her when she wasn't looking.

"Bea-!" Mei's face flushed in embarrassment, but she quickly calmed down

"A-alright, let's go inside." She said with a stutter, a faint red hue still on her cheeks.

"Okay." He nodded again.

As they entered the house, Adam couldn't help but inwardly sigh in relief. 'Phew, thankfully, I can control my hormones.'

He was fortunate that he could control his own biology with the power of the Herrscher of Corruption, otherwise, he wouldn't be looking at Mei with just appreciation.

His hormones were at the peak of his teenage years, after all. Even though he was a virgin in this life, that still doesn't erase what he did in his previous one.

Thankfully, he has gotten used to it with all these attractive girls running around, he also slowed down his testosterone production for today.

"Please sit here first, I'll go and get some drinks. What would you like?"

"Hm?"

He noticed that they arrived at what seemed like a living room. Even though he lived a considerate part of his life in Nagazora city, some Japanese stuff still sometimes confused him.

"Just water, thank you." He replied as he sat down.

"Alright, please wait for me." Mei said as he turned to leave.

Now that he had time to properly think…

'I'm a little curious...' Adam was perplexed at why the tuna arrived earlier than she should have. Although his memories of the start of the game were a little foggy, he still remembered that Kiana should have arrived in at the start of 2014.

Numerous thoughts flashed through his mind. Mostly about the change, he wondered if it was a butterfly effect caused by his existence. Although he supposed it didn't matter, he wasn't that worried about the upcoming honkai eruption, after all.

'Still, I shouldn't rely on my game knowledge too much.' He knew that only relying on his knowledge of the plot will make him have tunnel vision, and he didn't particularly want that.

"Here's your water." Mei put down the tray that she was carrying, and put a glass of water in front of Adam.

"Thank you." He said, picking up and drinking the water in one gulp before putting down the empty glass. "Now, how about we start?" He asked.

"Ah, of course"

And so, the cooking class started

"As expected of the Herrscher of Cooking..." Adam muttered as he finished eating what Mei cooked.

"Did you say something, Adam-kun?" Asked the person Adam was referring to.

"Don't worry about it, Mei." He said, not expecting her to know the meaning of his words.

Mei looked at him in confusion, before shaking her head. "How did I do?" She asked him with nervousness evident in her voice.

"You have improved rapidly." He started "To be honest, you can easily surpass me in the future." Adam continued.

It was true, her talent in cooking is on par with her talent with the sword. And that meant a lot considering she did some pretty crazy stuff with that weapon in the game.

Mei looked at him with her eyes widened "Y-you are overestimating me..." She said weakly with a faint red hue dusting her cheeks.

He was now sure that her confidence had been wholly destroyed. He had to fix that.

Adam looked at her with a serious expression on his face, "Don't underestimate yourself Mei. You can definitely surpass me if you put in the effort." He said, not leaving any room for argument.

"O-oh, alright" She shyly replied, her face flushing red "I-I won't disappoint you, Adam-kun." She composed herself and said with determination.

"Anyway, let's go one more time, shall we?" Adam smiled at her.

"... Of course"

.

The clouds were dyed orange as the sun on the horizon began setting. This also signaled Adam's departure from Mei's home.

"Take care, Mei-san. Also, be careful of going out. A beautiful girl like you being all alone at night is bound to attract all kinds of troubles." Adam cautioned her.

Although men were uncommon in this world. There were still delinquents that sought to take advantage of defenseless girls at night. Mei wasn't the Herrscher of Thunder yet, she was currently just a normal girl that knows swordsmanship and it would be dangerous if she met those kind people.

"Thank you for your concern, Adam-kun." She gently smiled at him, feeling touched by his genuine concern for her. Ever since her father's imprisonment, no one had shown concern for her. And she was sure that he wasn't faking it to get benefits out of her.

Except if he is interested in her in that way...

But she doubted it as Adam was very popular with other girls so that thought flashed only briefly through her mind before she dismissed it.

Despite complimenting her on her beauty, he only looked at her with just appreciation, without any lust. Although she unexpectedly felt slightly disappointed at that.

'Am I not attractive...?' She looked down on her figure, comparing herself to other girls that often surrounded him.

"Then I'll go now, take care." Adam smiled before turning to walk away. However, he suddenly stopped and glanced back at her "By the way, you should smile more often. It makes your beauty a lot more prominent."

Without waiting for her to process his words, he already turned around and began walking away with a wide smile on his face. He did not wait for her reply, nor did he see her flushed expression and the small smile that graced her face.

"I didn't expect to have so much fun teasing and spending time with Mei." Adam muttered, a smile still on his face.

Hanging out with Mei and Kiana was unexpectedly enjoyable as it even relaxed his nerves.

"I should hang out with her more often…"

A/N:

Writing romance that doesn't cause cringe to the readers is.... Very difficult

Sometime I'm questioning myself if that is truly how this character would act... Or if this character would really fall in love with the MC so quickly

I don't really want to make the girls fall in love too quickly as this defeats the purpose of romance, and yet I also don't want to drag this out to much

It really is difficult to balance it out

Anyways, I am done ranting my problems, I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
