Impossible mission

Seeing waves upon waves of Honkai Beasts surpassing 100. Normal humans within Lupus City have already turned into zombies

The Valkyrie were shaking in fear while Uesugi looked perfectly normal. This surprise was noticed by both of them as they realized his abnormal level of Honkai Resistance Adaptability

While the younger one was envious of his talents, the older one had only one thought. 'He must not die even if we need to sacrifice ourselves'.

*Beep* *Beep*

The communication line was reconnected as the older one picked up and heard. "There are no nearby Valkyries, the closest one to reinforcement is 30 minutes away from your location"

The line immediately disconnected, showing their attitude toward the chances of survivability in the current situation.

While the younger Valkyrie was shocked by the betrayal, the older Valkyrie only had a wry smile, as if understanding their situation.

Schicksal was established during the 5th century. Currently, they hold an image of mankind's protector but their history was filled with corruption. The current Overseer, Otto Apocalypse is a monster that survived over 500 years and remains the leader of Shicksal

His attitude towards people is cold-blooded and nonchalant. The establishment of Anti-Entropy is an example of this fact. Anti-Entropy was formally called Entropy, their leaders were the leading figures of Shicksal's 42nd research lab in America. 

After a certain incident, Anti-Entropy was formed in America as Schicksal cut off ties with them. Otto has publicly announced them as a terrorist organization and they have warred since then.

Otto Apocalypse holds the mainstay power within the organization with a positive image as their leader. While he would not bother with human lives. The lives would be stationed in places more suitable for their usage, while the useful would receive his favor and nurturing

The older Valkyrie may not know the history, but rumors were circulating within her circle that the Second Herrscher was born within a research facility under Shicksal.

She knew in her heart that being abandoned was natural. Who would gladly sacrifice themselves before a horde of Honkai Beasts? Unless an S-Rank Valkyrie arrives, destruction would spread beyond Lupus City.

However, this was impossible, Shicksal has many branches outside of Russia and the importance of the portal is limited to the normal people and not Earth itself.

Shaking her head at the useless thoughts, the party of 3 met with the Honkai Beasts at the border of the city

In a normal situation, these Honkai Beasts would be weaklings for taking. But their time was limited, while the 12 Templar-Class Honkai Beasts were guarding the portal, Chariot-Class, and Seraph-Class Honkai Beasts went in their own directions.

Without the presence of a Herrscher, no Honkai Beast can order each other. This meant bad news for them, if they started to kill their way out then the commotion would cause the instincts of Honkai Beasts to head their way, further increasing the difficulty of escaping.

The older Valkyrie resigned to her fate and faced the younger Valkyrie and Uesugi Shuu who currently had his eyes. She thought that he was scared and was trying to calm himself down.

He was interacting with the system within his mind. A new mission was issued in this disaster, leaving him screaming at the system's impossible requirements to accomplish any of them

'Mission Issued'

The host is currently in danger and according to the casualty clause, we shall give options and rewards for you to accomplish after success. However, due to the difficulty of surpassing the Host's abilities, there will be a punishment if unsuccessful

1) Kill a Templar-Class Honkai Beast and escape safely

Reward: STR +30, DUR +20, INT +30, Energy +10, Talent awakening chance at LvL 10

2) Kill 10 Chariot/Seraph-Class Honkai Beasts without assistance

Reward: New equipment and Rebirth Liquid

3) Survive in Lupus City for two hours without any help (Assistance detected will nullify rewards)

Reward: Mission 1 and 2 rewards will be gained again

Penalty for failure: Your manhood will be taken until you become an adult.

P.S. Not like you need it in your life

System Comment: It is advisable to finish all three options if possible, maybe there will be a surprise for a hopeless man like you.

"$#%$, @#*$", a series of profanities rang out in his mental space. In reality, he had a constipated face which left the older Valkyrie worried while the younger Valkyrie was worrying about her own life.

Uesugi Shuu tried calming down with deep breaths, he glanced at the system notice and a vein nearly popped out of his head.

With his current abilities, he couldn't even penetrate the weakest Honkai Beasts' defenses, let alone stronger Honkai Beasts. Ignoring the first two options, the third option is even more insane.

Judging by the spawn rate of the portal, 2 hour is enough to spawn 500 HW worth of Honkai Beasts. Even if he survived, how was he going to escape if Templar Honkai Beasts made a move.

He still has not gained control of Honkai Energy as the barrier still exists. Now, his only chance was to utilize the feeling he felt after increasing his INT stat to forcefully make contact with the floating specks when he activates [Focus].

However, unlike his first mission, the second mission mentioned casualty. Meaning according to the system, the mission may seem impossible, but it is plausible as long he finds a way.

While he was thinking, gun noises awoke him of his situation. Exiting his mind space, he witnessed the Valkyries fending off the Honkai Beasts. Their numbers were dwindling at a constant pace. 

Their teamwork was not considered flawless but were adept if they were newly paired. The younger Valkyrie holding her pair of guns was running and dodging the attacks of the Honkai Beasts while shooting at their weak spots to damage and lure them away

The older Valkyrie will land a charged-up blow with her hammer and sink the Honkai Beast onto the ground.

Despite their actions not being flashy, it was efficient and praiseworthy, especially when their lives were on the line. 

However, they soon noticed that the Honkai Beasts blockading Lupus City were gathering around them. It seemed that their instincts led them here and determined that there were no living humans within the city anymore

The younger Valkyrie paled further and shouted "Senpai, why aren't we going all out". The chances of them surviving were low but it was decent, yet the older Valkyrie was not moving satisfactorily according to her protege's eyes

Worried eyes appeared on the older Valkyrie who glanced at Uesugi Shuu who just got up. Hesitance soon became firm as she gritted her teeth and shouted back "You and this boy will escape, I'll hold them back". 

She hastily headed towards Uesugi's direction, leaving her companion shocked for a moment before yelling "You're crazy!". However, she didn't go astray and continued delaying the Honkai Beasts with difficulty

"Boy, I'll soon launch you over the Honkai Beasts. You'll suffer some damage but seeing your strength before, this is your only chance to survive" She quickly told Uesugi before she went into action

Uesugi Shuu's mind blanked out for a second. Anyone in his situation would accept the offer. However, all he saw was his manhood waving goodbye at him in the faraway skies

This state broke as he shook his head as if his life was on the line. "No, no, you both must survive and escape, I don't want to sacrifice anyone for my survival" He spoke with conviction which shocked the older Valkyrie for a moment

Eyes of appreciation glittered as she reaffirmed her decision. "I must save you now". She went into action, aiming to grab hold of Uesugi's body

Despair appeared on his face as he quickly evaded the grab and headed towards the city. "Don't worry about me, I'll live through this ordeal without difficulty". His speed left dust floating about and a speechless Valkyrie's hand floating in the air

While she contained Honkai Energy and a trained body, the older Valkyrie was a heavy-weapon specialist, and speed was not her forte. If she abandoned her weapon then she may have a chance of catching him, but that would be unwise in a situation, surrounded by Honkai Beasts

She couldn't help by sigh and dropped her hands. Eventually, he regrouped with her protege in dealing with the Honkai Beasts

This time, a shocking scenario happened. Previously they were suffering dearly against the blockade, but now they appeared like domino blocks that crumbled under the attacks of raining hammers that smashed them into pancakes or sent them flying into space

The younger Valkyrie recognized the signal and unleashed her true strength as well. The bullets that lingered between ordinary and abnormal became strong enough to pierce the defense of the Honkai Beasts easily. 

Two Valkyries trounced the surrounding Honkai Beasts after minutes. Leaving behind clouds of dust lingering in the air. When it cleared out, the scene was astonishing as carcasses of monstrosities were deformed and blown apart

"Sister Freya, are we done here". The younger Valkyrie softly asked the older Valkyrie called Freya.

Nodding in acceptance, Freya looked at her watch which materialized out of nothing. If Uesugi used [Focus], then he would see the specks of light gathering around her wrist

"Sarah, we'll be returning to our headquarters for rest". The initially caring tone when she conversed with Uesugi became cold as if she became another person.

"Sister Freya, who is that human, other than the fact that his body was slightly stronger, I didn't notice anything special on him". Sarah poked around about her mission when she received a glare from Freya.

She shrank back before muttering "I didn't say anything wrong did I". Freya heard her and shook her head. She remembered the expression on Uesugi's face as a smile appeared on her face

'Your fate will reach the stars and cover the sea of lights across this universe' The pair were covered in light. It removed their Valkyrie armor and became a new suit of armor. Their appearances changed, becoming more stunning. Maturity turned into stunning while young became cute.

Angels, spectators' first thought would be that. Their appearance was incredibly endearing from a normal human's perspective as their outfit looked like an actual Valkyrie associated with the gods

However, if a Valkyrie were to experience their pressure, they would be flat on the ground without resistance

They both materialized a pair of wings, heading outside of Earth's atmosphere, and disappeared without a trace.
