6 Chapter 5: Meeting Raiden Mei

Kiana and Fu Xuan glanced at the closing school gate, where the security guard gestured for them to hurry.

"Thanks, Uncle Security," Fu Xuan said, pulling Kiana along as they rushed towards the classroom.

"Reporting in," they both said, saluting the stern-looking teacher as they entered.

The class also paused whatever they were doing, before looking towards the door of the classroom to see two people standing beside the door.

¹"—I dare to be late for Mrs. Exterminator's class, what a model for my generation!"

"I never expected the class monitor to be late. Isn't he always the first one here?" murmured the students, causing Xuan to wish he could vanish into thin air.

'No, should I just brainwash them?'

"Quiet!" The female teacher, whose nickname— the exterminator stood in front of the podium motioning for the classroom to be quiet with a silent stare, before turning her head to look at Fu Xuan and Kiana.

"As a class monitor, you took the lead in being late for the first time, I'm disappointed, write a two-thousand-word report and submit to my desk before tomorrow." She sighed while rubbing her forehead before shifting her gaze.

"Yes!" Fu Xuan hearing this hurriedly agreed with a nod of his head.

However—

"As for you, Kiana, I can't even remember how many times you've been late," Mrs. Exterminator scolded. Kiana had been late so many times that no matter how much she was nagged; the paramecium would still be late the next day.

"Teacher, I won't dare again, I swear in the name of Kaslana!" Kiana raised her index and middle fingers with a serious expression, assuring the teacher. However, nobody in the classroom believed her.

"You think I'll believe you? This isn't even the first time you've sworn by the name of Kaslana!" Mrs. Exterminator's mouth twitched, her serious face faltering with an odd expression.

Kiana noticing Fu Xuan's gaze, and her face turned red as she tried to come up with an excuse. "I really don't dare (>_<)."< p>

"Then you were lying to the teacher back then?" Xuan tried adding more oil to the fire, but Kiana ignored him as she turned towards the teacher, scratching her head, "I'm sorry, teacher~"

Releasing a somewhat exasperated sigh, the teacher shook her head. "Forget it, come in, and both of you don't forget to submit your report."

Kiana's smile widened, as she pulled Xuan's arms, both heading towards the empty seat in the middle. Upon getting to his seat, Xuan suddenly realized, he was the Tuna's tablemate.

"—Kiana-san is actually late with the class monitor, are they together?"

"—It's possible, I feel that the class monitor is more cheerful-looking than before."

"What are you talking about, the class leader and I just happened to meet on the road." Hearing the conversation in the class, after sitting down, she instantly retorted against their claims, crossing her hand under her chest in feigned annoyance.

The chatter quickly subsided and they didn't pursue it further, besides, if they truly were a couple, they wouldn't even acknowledge it in the first place.

The bell chimed, signaling the start of the math lesson as the teacher entered the classroom with purposeful steps.

Xuan glanced at Kiana, who had dozed off at her desk after a brief period of class, then shifted his gaze to the teacher at the front.

Succumbing to drowsiness, he too rested his head on the desk and drifted into sleep.

Observing the two students napping, the teacher grabbed a piece of chalk and aimed it at Kiana's head.

"Ouch!" Kiana was struck by a chalk straight to the head. She let out a yelp, clutching her head and shooting a glare at the teacher before gesturing towards Xuan who was also sleeping like her.

However, the teacher ignored her, turning back towards the board to continue the class. "Why only me?!" Kiana nudged the slumbering Fu Xuan beside her, expressing her dissatisfaction.

Lunchtime arrived swiftly, prompting Xuan to raise his head from his desk, yawning as he stretched his body, looking around the empty classroom before getting up, heading out of the class to the school canteen.

As usual, there were a lot of people rushing the Yakisoba Bread, which was one of his favorite snacks, however, 'Ahh, I might have to give this one up.'

There were only few lefts, even if he should enter and fight for it, he felt too lazy to do so.

"Ahh… Let's just get the something." He muttered, as he bought a lunch along with a few drinks. Just as he was processing where to sit.

Someone grabbed him by the hand and started dragging him. From the soft touch, it was obviously a girl, however, whoever this girl is has the strength to drag someone with a physique like his!

"Kiana?" Xuan looked at her in surprise, before looking at the stairs, Kiana was dragging him through.

"Class leader, I'm taking you to meet my best friend." That was all she said, before continuing dragging him across the stairs.

Hearing this, Xuan fell silent for a moment, not even bothered by Kiana dragging him through the stairs. He's a pseudo-Herrscher! He has other things to worry about than someone dragging him across stairs.

"You mean Mei?"

"Huh? How did you know?" Kiana paused, glancing at him in surprise.

"I think most people in the school knows you're close to her." Xuan shrugged his shoulder, his gaze directed upwards nonchalantly. "Since you're the only one willing to go close to her after what happened…"

"Hm? What did you say?" Kiana looked at him tilting his head, but Xuan shook his head. "Don't worry about it."

"I see… anyways… We've arrived!" Kiana announced as she opened the door to the rooftop. And right in their line of sight, is a beautiful young girl with long dark purple hair and indigo eyes.

Seeing her, Kiana released her hold on Xuan and ran towards Mei to hug her. "Mei-Senpai~"

"Eh? Kiana-chan?"

The convergence of the four friends caused a stir, widening and broadening Fu Xuan's view. It was a spectacle even hundreds of Fu Hua and Kiana couldn't match.

"H-Hi." Mei looked nervously over at Fu Xuan. Since her father's imprisonment, apart from Kiana, she had been subject to the cold eyes and ridicule of others, she was unsure if Fu Xuan was the same.

"Alright, lets eat!" Kiana sat down on the bench, patting the side, gesturing for Mei to sit down at her left. Xuan sporting a nearby chair, beside the bench also went over, sitting down like the single dog he is.

"Mei-senpai, I want to eat the chicken nuggets in your lunch box."

"Don't you have your own?"

"But the chicken nuggets in your lunch box smell even better."

"It's all made by me, there's no difference…. Alright then, open your mouth."
