I wasn't lucky. I wasn't given mercy from the gods. All my hopes were thrown out the window as I slammed the door closed and ran.

Hunter's voice yelling at me to stop when I saw Aaron. His gun pointed at Sofia's head. She struggled as her husband was on the verge of crying. There moment we got near the gates of their house, my eyes had moved across the driveway to the unfamiliar black car, When we suddenly heard the gunshot.

Blake was on the ground with his leg shot as Charles fought with two men but in vain.

"Ahh. There she is. Now, Gonna make this really quick, Get in the car with me or she dies" I didn't feel my tears as they ran down my cheek nodding as Hunter constantly told me to stop.

"Let her go," Hunter said as I walked slowly towards the car and was grabbed by a man as he turned my hands behind my back restricting my movement.

"I am coming with you Aaron, I have nothing to do with these people. Just let them be!" I yelled as he smirked pushing Sofia to the ground. She groans grabbing her stomach which made me yelled for her.

"Don't take another step" I suddenly heard a guy walk out the back of the house. I didn't know him. But he stood in behind Aaron with his gun drawn, pressing it to his back.

"And who the fuck are you? A cop?" The guy shook his head.

"I am from her side." He said looking at me and I crease my eyebrows.

What? I didn't know him. Aaron laughed looking at me.

"You hired a bodyguard?" He said as I stayed quiet.

"You really think you did something" Hunter spoke making Aaron stop at his tracks and turn back to look at him.

"Let's be real, I have a gun, I have the girl. And I have no time. So back the fuck up or you'll get a bullet in your head-" The sudden hand slamming like a rock on his right cheek made the two other men coming running at Hunter.

All hell broke loose and that random guy started punching one of Aaron's men,

I couldn't see Black or Tyler. I yelled for Hunter to stop as I heard Sofia yell at Frank to help Hunter and that she was fine. Hunter had easily overpowered Aaron within minutes. But the sudden shot that rang in the air, made Hunter suddenly lose his hold on Aaron's neck.

I curse out loud as the blood seeped out of Hunter's stomach.

"No! Stop it! Stop It! Aaron!" I yelled as he pointed his gun at Hunter as he groaned holding his torso.

"Last words? " Aaron asked.

"Don't make me put a bullet through your head" Another gun was pointed towards Aaron from the guy before. Although none of us knew who he was by the random expressions of everyone. I was glad this random guy was here to just save us. At least for now.

"Ya, have a fun time in jail" Hunter spat as Aaron tilted his head in confusion. When I saw the sudden cop standing right behind the man holding me through my peripheral view.

What?

There was a struggle, As Hunter kicked Aaron sending him kneeling on the ground as he lost his balance, making his two men pounce on Hunter but Tyler fired a Taser at one of them bringing him down. The other one, however, Kicked Hunter in his stomach causing him to yell out and cough blood. That was the last time I saw his eyes. As he closed them letting his head fall on the ground.

I gasp stepping ahead but one of the cops stopped me by my hand. I didn't take my eyes off him as he groaned in pain.

The loud sirens rang in my ears as the cops unarmed Aaron and handcuffed him. I ran towards the hunter and the paramedics walked to him and started checking on him. The sudden hand around my wrist stopped me again.

"Please" I whispered as Frank held me back.

Sofia, Hunter, and Charles were taken to the hospital.

All this was my fault. Others, including me, were asked to give a statement but Frank requested that we got the evening to ourselves at least. I stare at Frank who walked back and forth in the halls with his hands on his head. My face stayed neutral. I had to leave.

I had to leave them alone. The way Sofia held her hands across her stomach in pain, the way Frank freaked out seeing her. It was obvious. Anything happening next would be all my fault.

I noticed the guy leaning on the wall right as he came afoot near me. I looked at him and stood up walking towards him. He stared down at me.

"Who sent you?"

"Maximillion Damon" I bite my lip looking down and playing with my hands.

"I have to go back with you, don't I ?" He seemed surprised. He nodded slowly.

"Where is he?" I asked. "Back in the city", I gulp. He was so close. Very close. He couldn't make it on time, he knew he couldn't. So he had this guy stalk me till Aaron tried his chance on me.

I gave myself a sad smile. "What was asked to do? Kidnap me ?" He sighs shifting his posture.

"Not really, But I was ordered to bring you back, even if you denied" I nodded.

I walked back to Frank and saw him nodding at the nurse. He bites his finger staring at the door as she walked away.

"How is she?" I asked. He sighs looking at me. "She is fine- But she didn't me about our-" he pauses and gulped.

The baby.

"Um-Hunter and Blake are in surgery, They'll be fine. I am sure" I nodded.

"Hey, Frank-" I stammered. As he stared at me.

"It's all my fault." I blurt. He frowned. "No it's not-" I cut him off quite fast. There was this heavy emotion stuck right on my throat. Wanting to escape. As tears ran down my face, I rub my face and those tears away.

"That man didn't just target your wife or friends for no reason. It was my fault. I can't pay you back for what you did. But I promise I won't ever hurt your family like this." I smiled.

"Give this to Hunter," I said taking a golden chain I sometimes wore and putting it in Frank's hand.

"It's a gift from me to him. I-I have to go" He frowned and stopped me from moving with his hand wrapped around my forearm.

"Where are you going? You can give him this when he wakes up Eve, I told you, it's not your fault. Everyone is okay. Hunter is gonna ask for you after he wakes up, Don't leave" I smiled letting his hand slide down.

"I just can't stay here. Okay? Just give it to him when he wakes me. I have something to take care of, I'll see you later?" I said give him some amount of my fake assurance and he understood nodding.

"I'll be here." I nodded walking towards the exit. I look at that man standing right at the gate with his back leaning on a black car. He noticed me and nodded towards the car. I just walked towards him and got in as he opened the door for me.

We didn't go back to get my bag from the now empty house where I once met Sofia, Frank, Hunter- It was too late. I had to leave.

I wasn't ever coming back.

stared out the window with tears streaming down my face. My head fell on the window as I let out a harsh breath shutting my eyes close and covering my face as I cried. I shudder at every breath I took. The guy driving the glanced back after stopping at a red light and grabbed a tissue box handing it to me.

"Thank you" My horsed voice came through as I sniffle rubbing the tears away.

It's gonna be fine, Hunter will live peacefully without my family coming to disturb him. My father will finally leave me alone. I just have to lock myself up in my room and cut them off till I get over this.

I gulp as I see Max running out the front of the hotel and walking towards the car as I get out. He sighs pulling me into a hug. My hands didn't hug him back. But I nodded as he asked me if I was okay.

"I am so happy you are doing okay Eve, Common." I nodded stopping in two steps and looking at that guy to drove me. "Thanks, for saving my friends" He didn't nod nor did he gave a smile. Just lowered his eyes in acknowledgment as Max smiled at him and walked me inside into the penthouse of the building.
