Another Chapter

The way we set up this time was a lot more different and way better than originally. Since the spot we set up in was a little more hidden in the trees. I had a ton of trees and the space was a lot bigger. So I extended the sleeping areas. I had the main tent which had 4 rooms and a covered area in the front. Which was also the door to get in and out in the center. Then I connected a regular 2 man tent on each side of it. I put together the baby gates and made sure it went around the tents. Then I laid foam mats on every spot inside the baby gate. Including under the tent. Then I grabbed a ton of those plastic pallets and put them in the ground. To help block off our area. Then added a makeshift swinging door with a lock to the opening. Then I created a walkway path. Since we were blocked off with trees and bushes. I broke off one of the bushes to hide our walkways. Once it was covered I got to work with creating the fire pit. I got myself a metal cage like barricade. I used it to block off my kids. I put it in the center of our camp. I made a makeshift sink using plastic pallets. Then I used fire bricks to create a stove like pit. A heavy duty grill top I found from an abandoned campsite became the top of the fire pit. I was donated some camping shelves. Which I put on the other side of the makeshift kitchen. I put all the groceries in it. My pit was big enough to cook 4 things at once. I added a few fire bricks on top to make sure it stays leveled and sturdy in place. I also added 4 very big 7 day artic coolers to the space. Then once the kitchen area was completed. I had to climb the trees to the top and connect my tarps. I made 2 levels. Top one was a smaller one that was creased in the middle and tied. The longer one was the bottom. Since it was 2 large tarps I connected them with military rope. Braided them together and had the braided part line with the smaller tarp that was creased and raised in the center. Then I got to work with their designated play area. I attached a baby swing to one tree. Then added a log swing to another. Then a hammock to another. It had 3 pods in it. I removed all the rocks from that area. Then made a bug shield around that area. Placed a tarp on the ground. Connected 4 tarps to surround the play area. I braided all 5 tarps together. I did the same for the bathroom. Except I separated the toilets from the shower. I did bring back the plastic container but it was now my sink. So I went and bought hard plastic pools. One to shower in and one to rinse off with. I also added anther smaller bin for myself. So I can wash my long hair and or soak my feet if I need to. Then I bought 3 inch mats to place on the foam mats. Then added mattresses to my room and then kids pull out mattress beds for the kids. The kids folding pull out mattress was also a chair. Not very big but it worked. I was after all a children's fold out bed. Made of mostly foam. Then I added the mother load of pillows to each tent room. Then I grabbed water jugs prefilled with water. Melted the tops together and connected head lamps to them. Placed one in each room area as well. Then I decided it was too dangerous. So I bought led lights and strung them along the tops. They offered gentle soft white in the night. I lined the pathways with them as well. By stringing them on the gates and fences. I also added a few to the tarps. To help offer added lighting as needed. Then one of the other campsites gave us a generator. Specifically because we had babies. So I accepted graciously. Now I could at least charge my phone when I needed. I also ended up getting myself a skillet. Made frying food much easier.
