16 With A Heavy Heart

Now I know I put in here that my dad had gotten sepsis and survived and he did for a little over a year and a half.

Now I am going to tell u what happened in 2019 and how we ended the year so now would be a great time to grab some tissues and be ready for my heart wrenching end to this story.

This is where I am going to start and that is in October now what makes October the start of this last chapter is a very hard time for my dad.

My dad found out in October his mom my grandmother was very sick and was in the hospital and wasn't going to make it we tried everything we possibly could to try and get my dad up to Georgia to see her one last time but with his health and needing to do dialysis three times a week it wasn't going to happen.

So my mom brother and I were here for him the way we had been for the last 9 and a half years one morning we got a call from one of his sisters that my grandmother his mom passed away and that hit him hard.

Now he seemed to be ok after a few weeks he seemed ok going into November except for his stomach was upset and he got sick and then had a minor heart attack and they put a couple of stents into his heart.

When he got out it seemed like he was ok especially during Thanksgiving but that's where we were wrong because we got into December and it all went down hill starting Sunday the 8th of December when my dad fell and he couldn't get up.

My mom brother and I knew something was wrong but we had made a decision to let my dad choose when he went to the hospital but he refused to so Sunday my mom brother and I prayed to god that he let my dad get better or go to the hospital to find out what was wrong.

It was on Monday the 9th when he fell again when trying to get on his ecv that he finally went to the hospital and find out what was wrong with him we were thinking that he would end up in a home because he was just getting sicker but we were sadly mistaken.

It was 5 days after he went that we got a call early in the morning telling us that my dad was in the cicu because his body was shutting down and that we didn't have much time.

When the Dr called to ask if we wanted him on life support or just keep him comfortable and that's what we knew dad wanted was just to be kept comfortable and now we figured they would listen to what we wanted and we were again mistaken they put him on adrenaline.

Now I'm going to tell you this is where things get bad we got to the hospital and he knew he was going to die and we got to say our goodbyes and tell him we lived him one last time.

Now we signed him up for hospice and they took him off half of the adrenaline and then it took a few hours and we got a call that he could be sent to hospice.

Now I'm going to skip because this is where we are just about to the end of this story my mom brother and I couldn't be at the place he was sent to because we don't have a car we got a call saying he passed away just an hour after he was taken off of the adrenaline.

We have since been trying to live and move forward which is what were doing as best as we can thank God we are getting there we miss my dad every day but since he's gone this story is no longer because he is gone.

We now have a new story and now we just half to keep going and we hope that when people read this story understand that not everybody chooses to be homeless and not everyone chooses to half to live in a hotel at this point as we always are very greatful to god that we are ok.

I hope that everyone who reads this knows that this story is real and that we didn't choose to be on the streets we didn't choose to lose everything and we now know that we are strong and we can make it thru anything with God.
