32 Chapter-32 : A glimpse in a year

The shooting of the film <Spy-kids> was going in a good pace. Ric have surprisingly pulled of a lot stunts and actions on his own without using body-double. Though it did cause some minor mishaps but all in all the film was programing quite fast.

Although the shooting was going on, the award season didn't forget Ric this time.

As Ric's film <Billy Elliot> got 5 nominations in the musical drama in Golden Globe from which he won the best original screenplay for musical drama.

On the other hand, in the Oscars same film had got 3 nomination which included best original screenplay but didn't win anything.

Meanwhile his first two single "If time could stop" and "Lonely" which was recorded during <Casper>'s shooting released around this time with week gap between each release.

The response during the first week wasn't so great with just selling 5000 copies but over time it increased. By the time month passed by only 30,000 copies both was sold . But with release of <Casper> things started to change.

When <Casper> released it won a whopping 28 million in Box Office in the first week due to popularity of both Ric and Drew as well as the stories popularity.

It stayed active for until the day of Ric's another film <Spy-kid> released earning a total of 400 million with evenly earning 200 million from domestic as well as international market.

After 3 weeks of <Casper>'s release the two songs in <Casper> was released in the market as singles bringing the singles in top ten of single billboard chart with a sale of 200,000 and 250,000 each which even pushed the sales of other two singles to 100,000 and 180,000 each bring them to top 30 of billboard chart.

This bought attention to the singles by the media including the critics. Their initial response to the song by the critics was positive but mostly natural.

But when they found out this song were both composed and sang by Richard. This brought huge commotion among the media and general public specially the fan's of Ric.

Everyone was astound by this multi-talented super genius. Such commotion brought all the four singles to hit top ten of billboard single list with "Remember me this way" taking the throne. And all of them stayed in their position for 3 weeks straight. Specially "Remember me this way" and "If time could stop" kept both first and third position for 5 weeks consecutively.

Even with passage of time, all single occupied the top 20 position for a whole 3 months.

Among this commotions, the film <Spy kids> finished its shooting and Ric finally found a breathing space. His next film <Home alone 2> was scheduled to shoot in three months from now giving him some time for much need rest.

But he didn't spend all the time resting or idling instead he spend it on his study. Due to his heavy schedule this year, the effect caused a lot of problem in his academic study.

This year Ric is in second year of High-school and he is only 12 years old. Due to his success in many fields like acting, writing or singing often everyone forgets he is also academically talented otherwise despite being so busy with everything else he wont be in high-school much-less in such a age.

But due to the heavy schedule it was really effecting his study for which he send an application for finishing this semester in this three months, which was approved by the school governing board after few donations in the school.

So, he spend this three months studying and finishing this year's high-school semester.

While Ric is busy with his study, The film <Spy-Kids> hit the cinema with much fanfare. Film attracted a lot of audience and many gave positive review about it. Ric once again showcased his charming personality which can charm many if not all the girls in US. But he also showed his ability as an action actor farther proving and spreading a aura that he can act in any kind of genre.

The film brought back 500 million in box office with a gross of 300 million in north America and 200 million overseas running for 6 months and with a 30 million gross in first week.

Making it the third film to cross 500 million mark and earning him the record of an actor having three films in 500 million mark in history but also added another achievement in the list of Ric's life time achievements.

A fun fact, the list dubbed as "Richards life time achievements " is actually a well recorded document done by his mother Hanna Jackson which shows all of Ric's achievements with his own updated editions enough to be showcased in a museum.

Well It was a case not far from distant future.

As <Spy-Kids> running in the cinema and Ric finished his study, he finally went to the shooting of the last film of this year <Home Alone 2>. Due to the massive success of first movie, Warner urged Ric a lot to make script this year as last year Ric didn't have scheduled otherwise they would have made the script them self and would have made it as crappy as the previous <Home Alone 2>.

Ric didn't change the script that much, but modified few places and improved the overall quality the script than its previous version.

The shooting took place in New York's plaza hotel and the park scene in front of Ric's house. It took only a month and a half to finish the entire shooting.

And as scheduled it was released a week prior to Christmas Day.

The film was released 1700 theaters across north America. But the response from the critics was both positive and negative.

As negative a well known critic Robert Shen said, "Richard finally fallen in the trap of Hollywood assembly line, the result is <Home Alone 2>."

And as positive a critic from NY Times said "A wonderful squeal created from the hands of a super genius."

But whatever the critics said, general people acceptance of the movie was very much enthusiastic.

The direct result can be seen when the film earned a stunning 40 million box office breaking Ric previous first week box office record.

Running with such a high response the film grossed 320 million in Domestic market and Earned 230 million in international market grossing a grand total of 550 million after it ended journey after it ran for 7 months.

Putting yet again another film with 500 million mark in Ric's basket.
