Chapter-28 : Party

20th century fox with the large success of <Matilda> organized a grand party. And as one of the Producer and owner of the effects team, Ric attended the party.

The party is not only about films success but also making huge profit back to back with two films this year, so they invited everyone from famous directors to famous actors,actress and also other big wigs of Hollywood.

The party was held at The Beverly Hills Hotel.

Such a large scale party also attracted many Reporters as well as many paparazzi. They all surrounded the hotel gates, to get a interview or photos of the important people attending.

When Ric arrived at the party, many reporters and paparazzi trough a lot of questions towards him, he smiled at them without answering any questions but slowed down to give them some time to take photos and entered the hotel.

At first he was uncomfortable even with having a metal age of an adult, being exposed to their questions and camera flashes was nerve-wracking.

But over-time being exposed so much, he became use to it. In-fact unlike some celebrities who don't like their photo's being taken, Ric doesn't have that problem.

He can do what ever he wants without being discomforted.

Like when ever he walks in the park of Upper east side of Manhattan, he is often followed by paparazzi who takes pictures or some being bold ask questions to which he ignores or sometimes answers depending on his mood. But doesn't make him uncomfortable with them being around.

Sometimes he even talk with his fan or give autographs when some recognize him.

But here is a limit to it, any one will be afraid or be nervous being surround by swarm of reporters, paparazzi or fans.

This is the first time, Ric have attend a party alone, well technically not alone as Ari is his constant shadow.

'I need to tell Ari about haring a bodyguard for me' Ric thought while entering. He knows that as he grows, his surroundings becomes less secure. As a public figure moving without security is every bad idea as specially in a age when he is neither a child or an adult.

Entering the party he saw many familiar faces, so did he what all the people does in high-class parties, socialize. While he his talking, greeting or meeting familiar faces, unfamiliar faces also did the same with him.

After socializing for a while he saw drew standing in a balcony looking at the pool. She is wearing a Bright Red Gown bringing out an ethereal aura around her when she was standing like that, making Ric transfixed.

'She is looking very gorgeous today.... wait, snap out of it brain, you didn't enter adolescent yet.'He shake his head to snap out of it.

Getting out of it, he went and stood beside Drew.

Feeling someone stood beside her, she looked to find Ric looking at her and gave a smiled, she smiled back.

They both fall silent and looked outside, then Ric broke the silent saying,

"You look are awfully quite today"

"I am tired of taking, now I know why you don't want to come to this parties" said Drew with a exasperate face.

"Welcome to my world" Ric joked with a smile and got a smile in response.

"Your not telling me what actually happened Drew" said Ric after sometimes.

"How can you tell, Does my face have anything?" question Drew.

"I know you for a long time now, at least this thing is must. So..." urged Ric with a smile.

"Its nothing, just had a fight with mom before coming to this party" said Drew sadly.

Ric smiled and put his hand on Drew's. She gave a cheerful smile.

"You know, if sees you holding my hand like that especially the media, who knows what they will make out of it." said Drew mischievously.

"Let them be, besides everyone in Hollywood knows your my best-friend. All they can do is make upgrade it to childhood sweetheart."

They both laughed.

"Hey you wanna do something." said Ric suddenly.

"What???" Drew asked curious.

"How about we sneak out from here, find ourselves a room hangout."

"Great idea, lets do it."

They did as they planned. Being having Steven as a godfather at this moments as he helped them in the plan. Not only that but covered for them as well, when Drew's mother was getting worried of not finding her daughter after the party,

Steven said he brought her to a room in the hotel as he saw she was tired and told Drew's mother not to worry as he will send her home tomorrow.

While Drew's mother left the hotel a bit less worried, Drew and Ric spend the entire time taking, playing but thoroughly relaxed.

A lot of time passed scene that night, Ric's last film of the year finally raveled itself in 1200 theaters across North America and UK at the same time.

Ballet was not a popular form of dance among average Americans especially among boys. Some event think that it was for girls, weirdos and gays.

So, when it was known that Ric is dong this movie, it caused a controversy. Many people was skeptical,some even questioned Ric's motive in doing this film and worse some tabloid even question his sexual orientation. But brought a storm of criticism from both his fans and child protection making them apologize in public.

Among this controversy, when film earned 18 million in box office inducing a 19% spike in Ballet attendance by man in America gave the perfect answer to this, shutting any or all negative comments.

People was not only mesmerized by Ric's dancing skill but also by the drama the film contained. Many critics not only praised Ric's acting and dancing skills but also the creativity for fusing two different themes in one film.

<Billy Elliot > ran about 6 months and ended in 1987 February earning about 120 million in north America and 130 million world wide to a total gross of 250 million.
