2 Chapter-2 : Popularity

That's right I Mr. Richard Roswald Jackson is a person re living my life. Not only i came back in the past in 1975 but also can remember everything up until i died on 2020.

When i came back at fist i was shocked but then i became excited. Why? Because i can change my life for the better, i can realize the dreams which i couldn't in previous life. I could live a life far better then the life i had previous.

My previous life was worse. As my family is well known and successful, having such an amazing family can be both pressuring and blessing. Pressuring because, if have live unto expectation of not only your parents but also the surroundings otherwise they will compare ,make fun of you.

But I couldn't bare the pressure and by the time I became 18 i collapsed. oh boy! i fell hard!!!. I was academically good, it turned worse. i stated to become rebellious. arguing with parents , keeping distance from them, parting, fighting ,drinking, drugs etc i became all in all problem child.

it turned out to be the worst decision of my life. Because by continuing this kind of life my body deteriorated. Finally the worse turn came, I had an accident and the result I became bedridden for my life, worse disease started coming from left to right.

All i could have done at that time is watch movies, tv series or read books. beside that due to fathers influence look at the investment market and help my father with his work.

Finally at the age of 45 my body collapsed after fighting for a long time. During my last breath I wised if i could have relived this life once again. And I don't know which supreme being heard my wish because I am for ever grateful to him.

And that is how I came back to the past. Now onward to the story....

Month have gone since the kitchen discussion, the kids column of NY times started get popular as interesting short stories are been publishing every week under a name R.R Jackson. Popularity might not been seen during first week but after that it started to grow.

One day, a family of three on Zionsville just having a breakfast in a living room, the child of this family, a 9 year old girl was reading a newspaper and see this, her parents treat this as normal occurrence as entertainment for the kids have been matured enough like smart phones or video games era.

See his daughter seem fascinated reading a newspaper, the father feel curious and ask his daughter. " What's on the news sweetheart? I've never seen you such having those interest reading newspaper."

The daughter heard her father saying that immediately felt irritated," Dad, I'm concentrating on reading this story, you know it's really hard to read on the newspaper".

Hearing that, her father didn't feel angry at all and become more curious for his daughter behavior, " Okay sweetheart, I will just wait for you finish the story and then you tell me what this is story about" her father just smiled after saying that.

The mother saw the father daughter interaction just smiled and also became interested about what her daughter read. A moment passed and the girl has read the story with both happy and frustrated expression on her face, her father become curious, seeing this she began narrate the story to her parents

" This short story is the best that I have read mom, dad. It's exciting and funny. But dad whats a string ray? Does it look like a large butterfly too bad it has no illustration on it, can we go to fish aquarium see string ray dad and this story still has continuation and won't be released next week. But dad, newspaper story is usually different each week and I'm afraid I won't get the continuation next week."

Seeing her frustrated but hopeful face girls dad laughed "hahaha... Don't worry dear i will send request mail to the editor of NY times and of course I will take you to the aquarium to see a string ray"

"really dad!!! yaaa!!!!" the girl became excited hugged her dad.

And this situation occurs at least in a thousand household in N.Y. and few parts of the States that subscribing the N.Y. Times. It occurred not only for the stories it self but the clever tactic used by Richard himself.

When he created the short stories the volume was really large, so in order to publish in the paper it was usually divided into two or three parts but he cleverly divided the story in such a way that when ever a reader finishes one part they not only became frustrated but also crave for the latter part of the story which drives the popularity even more.

As the short stories grow popular the sales and the subscribing number of NY Times also grows which in turn they urge Richard to give them more priority by giving him 200$-250$ each article writing in there kids column.

With in the next few months Richards short stories not only became popular among the kids but also among their parents. the author R.R Jackson became topic of discussion on dinner table in many households. Not only the NY times have sold like hot cakes but there was substantial visitors specially families with kids from 6 to 12 years old in many water zoos or aquarium parks through out the states.

During this frenzy time when a book named <My Ocean Stories> by R.R Jackson which was no only the compilation of this short stories but also illustration of different characters where published . It not only sold more than 150,000 copies trough out US but also took 10th place in the bestseller list.

The guy who created this is situation doing dancing practice for his upcoming show stage show audition in Broadway.
