James Wan and Anime

While the shooting for NGF was going on, Chainsaw was cutting the theater with its saw. The people at LionsGate were already discussing about potential sequels for the film. James Wan was pretty happy.

But he wanted more creative freedom. The producers at LionsGate interfered with the editing and disrupted Wan's vision for Saw. He was happy to do more sequels of the film, but if the producers kept interfering like that, he would have to stop collaborating with them. Yes, he signed the sequel contract for Saw but no more collaboration with Lionsgate other than that.

James thought about other production houses, Disney? No big producers always like the film to go their way. That cuts out WB and parahound too. Fox? No they have their own problems. Universal? It's possible. New Line? They have too many presidential issues. Jackson Entertainment? Maybe. He saw how Nolan got the freedom to do what he wants.

While James was pondering about which studio to work with next, Laurence had finally gotten the rights to animate and broadcast many of the popular mangas.

The list included One Piece and Naruto animation and broadcast, Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon broadcast. Laurence would first focus on Pokemon until the animation for the other two was ready. For One Piece, Harry had warned him not to be given to Toei Animation. So Laurence contacted Pierrot Animation House for One Piece and set up his own animation studio Ufotable for Naruto.

Dragon Ball Z was already released in Japan but that was only till the third season and the animation looked like a kid's paint project. So Laurence simply brought the animation house for DBZ and merged it with Mappa. Now they would be in charge for DBZ and Pokemon.

Crunchy Roll had been set up in China, Korea, Russia, India, Britain, France, Germany, America and Canada. The official streaming of anime would begin soon as there were still some technical problems to address. All in all, it was good.

Then came the most dreaded part, advertisement. Making people aware of the culture of mangas and animes. The financial situation at JE was not good as most of it's earnings has went towards DC acquisition. So Laurence had to use money out of his own pocket for the marketing of anime.

The first anime that would be aired would be Pokemon as it had the most finished seasons and had the potential for merchandise profits. (Harry told him that it could bring him more than 50 billion dollars) And Laurence had to admit, Pokemon did have a high brand potential. So Laurence contacted Habros and other toymakers in advance and discussed the merchandise plans.
