42 Noteworthy February

All the hubbub of programming was finally over with and Alexander was quick to let go of his binary conjuring obsession.

Nothing worked and he could already tell that it might be an annual sort of event. With that note in mind, forming the appropriate measures when the time comes should be in order.

Alexander was also worried for himself with the subsequent migraine he is having after its use.

44-year-old Alexander was a healthy man throughout his life despite his weird body fitness. The now youthful him didn't want to battle against complications like brain cancer.

Thus, he was stuck between looking forward to or avoiding the next resurgence.

"I guess what matters at this point in time is that I've got the animation software that I want." He murmured as he looked at the computer screen in front of him.

With a master password in place and an 80s floppy easily recording the source code, the computer was turned off and he was off to grab a bite.

Renovations are still ongoing and it is highly improbable that the renovators would be tempted to steal the unknown valuable.

All that was next on the list was registering the technological patent through his grandfather's connection and making the people who know it's worth just drool over it.

Creed Animations would not follow the same route as Pixar did with its tech. Selling and renting downgraded versions of software to make ends meet.

--------

Months of 1989 came into motions, everybody bid goodbye to February.

For that love month, noteworthy things happened just like any other month in the previous years.

Its noteworthiness depends on the person or organization it pertains to.

For the global film industry, it was the theatrical run of a simple film called Run Lola Run.

It did not defy the off-season box office trend for the month but it did give a pleasant surprise to the people involved in it. Just like the seasonal Home Alone, it had a great staying power for Valentine goers.

The film did not give any revolutionary storytelling concept except its simplification of the butterfly effects.

For February, perhaps only Keanu Reeve's Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure time travel movie has the same level of sci-fi on it.

What truly made the film compel people or couples, in that matter, to watch the film was Sullivan's targeted advertising.

Campaign, propaganda, marketing, and advertising are the culmination of the Creed Distributions' weaknesses.

Home Alone's success was due to a series of luck and coincidences on their part. The movie was perfect for the audience while their competitors gave them leeway to turn the tide and use it to spread the film to a wider audience.

Run Lola Run's box office run is now via their own methods. Red carpet premieres wouldn't do much for a film with no big-name artists. They skimped up on that part and focused more on the more widespread propaganda.

Damon was still an actor amongst some productions and Kidman was still trying her luck from her Australian roots.

Director Ed Williams was just a film professor that constantly exchanges film plans with Old Creed. Even the rest of the Home Alone ADs had the same roots as him. Just like old Sullivan, they were skilled in the craft and theory but weren't fortunate enough to be grabbed by Hollywood.

There were no fans that would come to theaters just because their names were on the film.

It also did not take the film festival route as the 1998 original version did.

Naturally, to make up for all the lack of advantages, it was up to marketing techniques to make up for it.

Run Lola Run's retelling of the run was enough to symbolize the film as a practice run.

From 21st-century trailer techniques to strategic articles from papers distributed across the market, the film draws in an audience from the trickle that was made curious by it.

However, of all the February releases, it still won out against future cool guy Reeves' time travel movie and Tom Hank's 'The 'Burbs'.

It is already the first week of March and meant that within a four-week screening of theaters Run Lola Run has already earned 25 million dollars in the domestic area.

Meanwhile, its overseas run has just been on two wheels but it already gained a significant 15 million dollars throughout those countries and regions.

Such a pull on North America and Canada from 1,200 theaters within a 4 week run was still able to hurt the eye of the majors.

1998 Run Lola Run being Americanized seems to be a great plus on the overseas market. Opting out of its German roots was what changed the simple film to be acceptable to xenophobic countries.

They may hate Americans but they are less tolerable when compared to Hitler.

Due to the film's simple premise and catchy soundtrack, it was a great plus for convenience for the overseas market.

The Creed international branches were also experimenting with their marketing tactics as well so the box office would still rise.

Run Lola Run was nothing special if only the domestic side was accounted for but with the overseas market in play, it had made profits.

This isn't the late 90s and above when film companies have to rely on the overseas market to make ends meet.

Run Lola Run essentially proved the Creed's capability in marketing and its power in overseas film distribution.

A film distribution restructured from an encompassing porn network was not to be trifled with.

The heat on the Creeds was at an all-time high that even Alexander doing his schoolwork was metaphorically sweating.

He was too caught up with the software programming stuff that he didn't notice the abnormality of the February-released movie until it was too late.

"I restructured Lola to make some pocket money. Why did grandpa have to overdo stuff and be an overachiever again?!" This was what he whisperingly reprimanded to his busy grandfather stationed in Burbank. 20 million plus would make him content but millions over that spelled celebration but also trouble.

From the box office estimates of some experts, it would come as no surprise that the film would ultimately earn a gross profit of 50+ million dollars on a global scale.

Every other February-released movie competing against it has to make do with 40 million and 30 million dollars on the runner-up podiums.

The second place of Keanu's Bill and Ted was already able to have a following that enabled it to have a sequel further down the years.

Hence, Lola and Manni might have their own fan culture as well.

It had to be said, a 100 million dollar box office is average in the future but it was phenomenal for the late 80s.

It can be imagined just how much attention a film that would be able to earn half of that has attracted. If taken into account the 750,000 dollar budget, it was another groundbreaking movie close to the miracle of Home Alone.

Granted that the Creeds did use a lot of free loopholes when making the films. Still, it is undeniably phenomenal in its own right for another low-cost movie to earn that much.
