7 I Require a room.

At breakfast, we were given our schedules. Today being Monday, I had potions first, then a history of magic in the afternoon.

Potion class was with the Gryffindors, and my two roommates and I arrived early. I had filled them in on Professor Snape's personality. I didn't mention that he was my neighbour. I just said some simple things. "He is our head of house and shows favouritism" and "he stern and doesn't suffer foolishness".

Snape let us into the potion class and took a role call. As he got to Harry's name, he made a snide remark about him being a celebrity. After that, he gave his speech.

"You are here to learn the subtle science and exact art of potion-making,' he began. He spoke barely more than a whisper, but they caught every word. "As there is little foolish wand-waving here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic. I don't expect you will understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses … I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death – if you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach." He finished. Then came the questions

"Potter!" Snape snapped, "What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"

Harry looked confused and muttered, "I don't know, sir."

" let's try again", Snape said, "Tell me, potter, where would I find a bezoar."

Again, Harry replied that he didn't know.

"Didn't think to open a book before coming here", Snape mocked. "Potter, what is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane."

Harry thoroughly bullied and replied, I don't know.

"Seems fame isn't everything." Snape mocked. "Mr. Carter, answer the questions," Snape unexpectedly commanded.

"Ah, to the first question, the answer is a powerful sleeping potion called draught of living death." I said, "Bezoar are stones found in a goat's stomach, good for curing poisoning," I said. "Monkshood and wolfsbane are the same plant called aconite"

" correct 10 points to Slytherin", Snape said."well, why haven't you written that down."

The rest of the class was more theory and cautioning about the dangers.

Our first practical class, brewing the cure for boils, would happen later in the week. In class, I was studious and took outstanding notes. The knowledge of note-taking was in his head, and I quickly fell into a rhythm of picking the vital information and jotting it down in a short, understandable way.

After potions finished, we had the middle of the day to ourselves, and lunch was from 11:45 to 12:45. <tempus > The time was 10:00. Time to kill for most students. But for me, the clock was ticking from the dungeons to the 7th floor as quickly as I could. I had a plan l. I've had this plan since the bookstore. 'Why did I have to spend my hard-earned galleons on books when there is a whole room of unused books at Hogwarts.'

Puffing out of breath and excitement, I slid to a stop in front of the tapestry of the dancing trolls. Back and forth I walked three times. A door to the best room in Hogwarts appeared.

A second library had been made in Hogwarts filled with lost books and copies of the books in the actual library—my thoughts were simple: a library with books sorted by subjects.

And I walked into a clean, quiet library with signs for each subject matter—magical theory, charms, history, biographies, transfiguration, magical creatures and on and on. Sliding to the charms, I found a few books on jinxing and hexing original copies so I could take them. When moving on to work/home spells, I found a copy of practical household magic and 52 easy spells for work. The basics of transfiguration were another must-grab and the guide to transmutation. Then, I stumbled across a small category at the end of the bookshelf. Music. There were two books, one a copy from the Hogwarts library, songs of the Wizardry World, which were just music sheets for ancient songs and essays on what they mean. The other book was a battered thing called Bewitching Strings. Cracking open the book, I found it was scribbled on with notes in the margins, but it was filled with spells related to music—bewitching instruments to play themselves, auto-tuning instruments, and using your wand as a mic. As I looked at the book, a light bulb popped into my head. Stuffing the books in my pouch, I ran out of the room, waited for the door to disappear and walked back and forth thrice.

When I pushed open the door, I smiled so wildly. Soft rugs lined the floor, the walls hung with thick tapestries, and around the outside of the room were musical instruments. A grand piano sat in a corner, and guitars, violins, cellos, and other stringed instruments sat on racks. Wind and brass had another section, followed by percussion and drums. A full harp was placed in another corner. In the middle was a wand stand, like a mic stand, but for a wand.

My heart ached to race around the room and try everything, but I slowed my breath and walked calmly to the instrument I wanted the most. I grabbed the neck of an old black acoustic guitar with a leather strap. Picking it up and putting the strap over my shoulder, I let out a breath I didn't realise I had been holding and strummed the cords. My heart and magic strummed with that first cord. I knew that this was right; this was what my magic and soul wanted. Knowledge of songs and cords rush through my mind. One song reached out like it demanded to be played right now.

It felt like it was the first song I knew how to play. •yesterday by the Beatles•.

♫Yesterday

all my troubles seemed so far away.

Now it looks as though they're here to stay.

Oh, I believe in yesterday.♫

I sang as the music and magic flowed; my eyes closed, and I just sang. When it was over, I noticed I had been crying, but it felt like I couldn't be happier.

<tempus > 11:50 'Oh Good food.' I rushed out of the room with the guitar on my back.

Hey been awhile since a note, I'm really enjoying writing this and from the reaction yall seem to like it to. I'm trying to get things spell-checked and grammatically correct. But I don't have access to my PC at the moment, and I'm writing this on my phone. Anyway decide if I can keep the pace of 2 chapters a day I will but I promise at least 3 a week. Chapters will be out every 12 hours in the near future.
