Chapter 48: The Foley's Squib Relatives

"Are you ready, Braun?" Mr. Foley's voice just fell and he activated the portkey without waiting for a response.

Braun felt as if a hook were pulling him from behind his belly button, hooking him forward with irresistible momentum. He felt his feet leave the ground, as if he were flying, like a gust of wind galloping through the air.

He couldn't see anything clearly in front of him. The fingers holding the portkey were firmly glued to the cane, but he could feel the sound of the wind, the murmur of people talking, and the frolicking in his ears, along with the sound of blood flowing in his own veins. It seemed like a long time had passed, or maybe it was just a moment.

After stumbling a few steps, Braun opened his eyes. He found himself standing in the lounge of a train station. Perhaps the Foley family arrived too early; there were no people inside the station, so their presence didn't attract the attention of Muggles.

Perhaps it was due to having a Squib brother, Mr. Foley knew a lot about Muggle things. Not only the suit and hat on his body but also his behavior were no different from Muggles. He avoided making strange moves and wore a look of curiosity about everything.

"Let's go! your uncle should be waiting for us outside." The family of three walked toward the entrance of the station. Pure-blood etiquette wasn't trained for nothing. Plus, this valuable handmade suit made the three of them attract respectful glances from some people from time to time. Mr. Foley also nodded generously at them, as if a nobleman patrolling his own people.

Outside the station, a middle-aged man bearing a striking resemblance to Mr. Foley stood outside the car, waiting quietly. His wife and daughter stood beside him. The girl was younger than Braun. At the moment, she was playing with a hula hoop.

"Dad, who are we waiting for? Why did we come so early? And why don't we get into the car and wait there? It's so cold outside," she said, stomping her foot.

"Wait a little longer, baby; we're waiting for your eldest uncle and cousin," Mrs. Mason, standing aside, comforted.

She knew better than her daughter who they were waiting for, so there was no feeling of impatience. Like her husband, she was a Squib. It's just that she was not as lucky as her husband. From time to time, family members in the wizarding world and the muggle world would get in touch. She was secretly given away by her family after testing her talent at the age of three. Her family never contacted her again.

Living in Muggle society too early made her forget almost everything about the wizarding world. Although she lived well in a Muggle family arranged by her family, she had no clue about Muggle knowledge.

It wasn't until the death of her Muggle parents that her life became difficult because only compulsory education was available. So she could only work in low-end jobs. But her strange behavior from time to time made it difficult for her to keep a job for long. She could not even make any friends. It wasn't until she was in her twenties that her family back in the wizarding world approached her again to marry another Squib. Her troubled life was over. And that Squib was her husband.

"Abel! Long time no see! And Joanna! You're a lot chubby than when you first married Abel," exclaimed Mr. Foley. Mrs. Foley patted her husband angrily at the last comment, though she had a smile tugging on the corner of her lips.

Joanna was not angry but said enthusiastically: "Albert! Millie! It's been a long time coming! This must be Braun! Pauline! This is your cousin Braun!"

"Cousin Braun!" Although the little girl felt a little shy when she saw the stranger, she still greeted him obediently.

"I didn't expect Pauline to have grown so big. We haven't seen each other for a long time, and the last time was not long after Braun was born."

"Yes," Joanna looked at the still young Millie with some envy. She and Millie were about the same age, but she was starting to have wrinkles while the other party was still as young as ever. This was because of the magic power. While magic brought wizards a variety of magical abilities, it also constantly changed their bodies to make them have a longer life and retain their youth for a long time.

"By the way, let's save all the catching up for home, lets get in the car and get a move on. It's too cold outside," Joanna called the Foleys. Everyone followed her and got in the car. Sitting together in this luxurious Rolls-Royce Silver Angel, they left under the envious gaze of the pedestrians.

In the car, Mr. Foley was finally beginning to reveal his true nature. While twisting his body, he became curious about the furnishings in the car. He started tugging and tapping every accessory that was added to the car.

"Abel! This Muggle car is so comfortable! Much better than your last car, not so bumpy. It's just a little smaller! I think you should let me cast a Undetectable Extension Charm on it!"

Abel looked at his brother angrily: "Albert! I've said this many times; it's called a car! Don't call it a Muggle car, and don't cast any magic on my car! Otherwise, I'm going to punch you and break your nose like I did when we were kids!"

Mr. Foley subconsciously touched his nose and then said with shame: "You're still as boring as ever." The two brothers looked at each other and couldn't help but laugh. The strangeness that they hadn't seen for a long time was also diluted with laughter.

"Mom, why are dad and this uncle are so strange?" Pauline whispered in Joanna's arms.

"Shh! Mom will explain it to you later. Now don't disturb your dad and uncle's chat." The little girl nodded as if she didn't understand.
