Rebuilding the Duelling Club

Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios

"You're going to set up a student association?" Yvonne asked, looking at Hermione in surprise.

"A study group, to be precise!" Hermione corrected her. "As I asked before, many people are willing to take part, and all that's missing is a qualified teacher!"

"So, you want me to be a professor?" Yvonne, of course, could read between the lines.

"Yes! In your first year, you defeated Quirrell, who was under You-Know-Who's control. Last year, you single-handedly subdued a giant dragon and did many things that not even a professor could have done. There is no one better suited than you…" the young witch gushed.

When she first started the group, many people only joined because of Ivan's fame.

Hermione took a deep breath, her brown eyes fixed on Ivan. "If anyone can defeat Lord Voldemort, it's you, Ivan!"

Undeterred by the witch's flattery, Ivan's ego inflated and he looked sheepishly at Harry, who was supposedly the one who had defeated Lord Voldemort.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, Harry…" Hermione said apologetically, remembering that he was still there.

"No, you're just telling the truth, Hermione!" Harry waved her off, indicating that he didn't care, that he had never considered himself special.

The only reason Ivan and Sirius were able to hold out in the graveyard for so long was because of the subtle connection between the wands.

Or perhaps he was just lucky.

However, luck alone was clearly not enough to defeat Voldemort, so Harry agreed with Hermione.

"I'm fine with being a professor, but I've been very busy lately, and I need to look up some information. I don't think I'll be able to spare much time. It's best if the study group meets once a week. Why don't we set it for Sunday morning?" Ivan said hesitantly.

Now that the decision had been made, Yvonne perked up and began to discuss the exact form of the meeting with Hermione and the others.

He planned to make it like the Duelling Club in his second year, focusing on actual combat teaching and setting up small prizes to arouse everyone's interest!

During their free time, the students could be split into groups of three to four, and they could practise magic freely. There would be a duel once a week, and if they did not want to lose face, they would spend some time practising magic in private…

"Like a duelling club? Not a bad idea!" said Hermione, brightening at Ivan's idea.

The Duelling Club held by Lockhart was very lively, and all the students of the school attended. Even though Lockhart's skill level was too low and he often instructed them blindly, they still learned a lot of duelling techniques.

However, there were a lot of people in the group, and if they wanted to set up a duelling area, they would need a large enough space. Ordinary empty classrooms were not that big…

"We could go to the Shrieking Shack!" Ivan suggested without thinking. It was the only place that fit.

After all, the Room of Requirement was his private property. In case of an accident, it was better not to let outsiders in for the time being.

Harry and Hermione thought about it for a while and agreed, thinking that the place was rather secretive.

Ron suddenly said, "What if Umbridge finds out something's wrong with all of us disappearing at once?"

Yvonne looked at Ron in confusion. It was normal to have a few dozen fewer people at school on their day off, wasn't it? If Umbridge had asked, they could have said Hogsmeade.

However, to his surprise, Harry and Hermione actually started discussing ways to deal with Umbridge.

Seeing that they could not come up with a perfect plan after a long discussion, Ivan shook his head and said casually, "Why don't we just let her rest for a few days?"

How to stop? Harry, Ron, and Hermione wondered.

Umbridge would not listen to them.

Yvonne kept her mouth shut and kept him guessing, making no attempt to answer.

Three days later, Umbridge was sent to St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries after she accidentally twisted her ankle and fell down the stairs.

Many students suspected that Trelawney had secretly placed a jinx on her, and the "curse" prophecy went viral in the school…

"You did it, didn't you, Yvonne? You were wonderful!" Harry exclaimed, having understood the situation the moment he heard.

Yvonne merely smiled, acquiescing.

'If you ask me, you're going too easy on her, you'd be better off dropping her!' Ron muttered, having been sick of Umbridge these days.

During Defence Against the Dark Arts class yesterday, Umbridge gave them a detention for failing to copy the school rules fifty times, and they were forced to write "Obey the school rules" a hundred times with a quill that had no ink.

It was unknown what kind of curse Umbridge had placed on the quill, but every scratch she made on the parchment was imprinted on the backs of their hands, making them feel as if they were being pricked by needles.

If Ivan had not found a way to undo the spell, they would never have escaped the mark of humiliation.

Hermione, in a rare exception, did not comment on Ron's over-the-top comments, and even suggested that they use George and Fred's "automatic pen" to complete the homework that Umbridge had given them.

"Are you really Hermione?" Harry stared at her in shock.

Ron looked as if he had seen a ghost, and he wondered who had used Polyjuice Potion to get to where they were, as the real Hermione would never allow them to cheat.

' Umbridge is the exception, and we can't afford to waste too much time on something as pointless as copying school rules!' Hermione declared, far from being unreasonable.

However, this statement was obviously not very convincing, as she had written the rules fifty times by hand.

'By the way, when did you finish copying the school rules, Yvonne?' Ron asked curiously, thinking that she would never give in to Umbridge.

Ivan had no intention of hiding the truth and immediately explained that he only remembered about it in class and used magic to replicate it.

'I wanted to help you, but when I saw that you and Ron weren't fazed, I thought you'd figured out a way to deal with Umbridge…' Ivan shrugged; he hadn't expected the two of them to be so calm and collected, when in fact they were completely unprepared.

Harry and Ron looked at each other in dismay.

Some time ago, in the Great Hall, everyone agreed to fight to the death!

Seamus even swore to them that he would jump off a building if he tried to copy the school rules!

However, when it came to the actual lesson, they were surprised to find that everyone had secretly copied everything except for the two unlucky ones, who believed it and were caught red-handed by Umbridge…
