425 Harry, Ron: We've Beat Black!

As they confronted each other, Ron pulled Harry aside, pulled out his wand and pointed it at Sirius.

"Harry, get out of here. Put on the Cloak of Invisibility and I'll hold them off!"

Ron then looked angrily at Ivan and scolded him.

"I was so wrong to trust you, Ivan! I can't believe you're working with Black and tricked us into coming here!"

"As I said before, I'm here to correct a misunderstanding!" Ivan explained.

"Misunderstanding? There's been no misunderstanding! Black killed my parents! And you… my best friend, you brought me to him!" Harry is completely out of control, having given up all hope of escape, his anger consuming him.

This scene, in Harry's opinion, was a re-enactment of the original …

"I'm not! Harry, it's not what you think…" Sirius hurried closer, trying to explain.

Harry, however, made a sudden move and waved his wand.

"Expelliarmus!"

A red light shot out from the tip of his wand, and Sirius instinctively tried to cast an Armor Charm on himself, but he was afraid of hurting Harry and causing a bigger misunderstanding, so he hesitated for a moment before the red light hit him.

Sirius recoiled in pain, and his wand flew out of his hand, spinning in the air before landing in Harry's hand.

Harry froze as soon as he caught the wand, feeling strangely ridiculous at how easily he had disarmed Sirius.

"You beat him, Harry!" Ron exclaimed in shock.

He also did not expect the infamous and ferocious Black to be defeated by Harry, but the excitement that followed was hard to hide, as they had defeated one great enemy and now only had to deal with the other!

With this in mind, Ron turned to Ivan and shouted.

"Expelliarmus!"

A red beam of light shot toward Ivan.

Ivan, however, had no intention of taking a beating, and immediately activated the protective ring's effect, causing the beam of light to bounce back the way it had come when it collided with the magical barrier.

Ron was knocked off his feet and crashed into a pile of rotting wood.

"Ron!" Harry panicked when he saw Ron's condition and tried to attack Ivan with his wand, but he too was knocked back.

Both wands fell into Ivan's hands.

Hermione, who was standing next to him, finally broke down and screamed, "Enough! Stop fighting!"

"Hermione, come here, get away from them!" Harry said anxiously as he struggled to his feet.

"Don't be stupid, Ivan would have killed us if he wanted to! We couldn't beat him together…" Hermione cried hysterically.

She had no idea why Ivan would get involved with Sirius, but she was well aware of the difference in strength between them.

If Ivan had conspired with Sirius to bring them to this remote place to kill Harry, he would have done it without explanation!

Additionally, Hermione felt that Ivan had no reason to murder Harry…

"Right! You should calm down and think about it. Sirius and I haven't attacked you so far, but you did. Isn't that obvious enough?" Ivan looked at Harry and the others and shrugged.

Ron, climbing out of the rubble, opened his mouth to retort that he had just been attacked, but choked, remembering that Ivan had merely bounced off the spell he had cast, and in a way Ivan had not attacked him.

Harry was even more confused. He looked at Sirius and saw that he had not charged at him to kill him.

"Ivan, what the hell is going on…" Hermione began.

She was willing to trust Ivan, but she was also very confused and had too many questions.

"I was just going to explain it to you… if you hadn't interrupted me," Ivan said grudgingly, and then proceeded to explain it to the trio.

"I won't repeat myself if you know what happened back then, but one thing to correct is that the person who betrayed Harry's father and caused his parents' deaths was not Sirius… it was another friend of Harry's father, Peter Pettigrew!"

"Peter Pettigrew? The hero who went after Black alone and got himself killed?" Harry couldn't help but interrupt Yvonne again, roaring his retort.

"Malfoy told me everything, and I checked with Professor McGonagall to see if it was true, and she told me in no uncertain terms that Black had betrayed my father!

And there were many, many witnesses, a whole street of Muggles giving similar testimony. Pettigrew intercepted Black, crying out for my parents, and the two of them got into a fight, and Pettigrew was killed on the spot!"

Harry kept remembering, tears welling up in his eyes as he looked at Sirius almost with hatred.

In addition to the Muggles, Hagrid was also a witness, having extracted information from him regarding Sirius's presence in the vicinity of the shelter, which was why Harry was so adamant.

After all, Hagrid would never lie to him.

Sirius was pained by Harry's hateful gaze, but forced himself to explain.

"No, it's not like that. Peter Pettigrew and I changed our identities at the last minute, and he became the Secret-Keeper! In order to keep it secret, only your father, Peter, and I knew about it… and that caused the misunderstanding!"

"Three people? Now that my father and Peter Pettigrew are dead, who's to say?" Harry was suspicious, not believing in coincidence.

"You're wrong, Peter isn't dead!" Sirius spat out the words, turning to stare at Ivan's mouse with murderous eyes.

"We've got him now!"

Harry and the others also turned to look at Scabbers. The grayish-black rat had gone limp and was motionless, as if it were dead.

Ron realised what Sirius was trying to say and shouted in disbelief.

"You're not saying my Scabbers is Peter, are you? That's impossible! He's just a pet. I've had him for years…

We even ate together, showered together, and I even took it with me to the bathroom, and no one knows more about Patchwork than I do, and it can't be a wizard turned, which is ridiculous!"
