25 Taken back

"I've come to take back my runaway wife!"

His words cut through me like a knife, and I felt my heart skip a beat. I turned to face him, and his icy stare bore into me, freezing me in place.

He draped his coat around me and took my hand, dragging me towards his car. "Drive!" he ordered, his voice cold and commanding. He led me inside the house, his grip firm and unyielding.

The crackling sound of the fireplace was loud because of the quiet atmosphere of the room. Me-Irene Hensley was having a hard time calming my heart's beating after seeing 'him' getting closer to me as he unbuttoned his shirt one by one and took it off, exposing his bare body.

"Didn't I say I'll never let you go? Were my words a joke to you?" His voice was cold and threatening when his glare pierced through me by sending a shiver in my spine as I pushed myself backwards, knowing there was no escape from his grip.

This man in front of me is the CEO of Compass Mortgage and the man I got married to a few weeks ago against my will.

"C-can we not...? Let me go! Let's talk about this tomorrow." I tried to slip out by looking away but his large grabbed my waist.

"How do you expect me to listen to you when you haven't listened to me for ten years? Irene, don't even think about running away again. I'm not that soft guy anymore. I might go berserk if I lose you again."

He pressed me down onto the bed, his lips touched my neck when his hands roamed over my body. I tried to resist, but he was too strong. His hands were rough and insistent. I cried out, my tears flowing freely when I felt his hands going down, making me shiver from his touches. His body pressed against mine heatedly when his heavy breath touched my ears. I could taste our shared breath and feel the thud of our combined heartbeat when his lips connected to mine, giving me no chance to refuse it.

"E-Ethan! Stop, please." my tears slid down my cheeks unintentionally, as I squeezed my thighs to prevent his fingers from reaching there but I didn't have the strength to do so. My hand gripped his hand trying to stop this unknown feeling with my face tilted backwards.

"Take them out, please!" My tone sounded uncanny as I begged him, "It feels weird!"

He leaned closer, his hot breath on my ear. I could smell that mint with a hint of vanilla fragrance from him. "Why? You're enjoying it though!"

At that moment, I knew that I was trapped. I was his wife, and he would do whatever he wanted with me. It was a feeling of helplessness that I couldn't shake.

Finally, after seeing me whimper non-stop, he prevented himself. He saw the tears streaming down my face and realized what he had done. "Shh, it's okay," he whispered, pulling me close to him. "Relax, I won't do anything without your consent."

He held me in his arms, soothing me with soft words and gentle touches. I wanted to hate him, but at that moment, I couldn't help but feel grateful for his tenderness.

As I drifted off to sleep, he whispered in my ear, "Don't ever leave me again, Hmm? I won't be able to handle it if you do. Tonight was a slight preview of what I might do.

Over the next few weeks, I fell into a routine of fear and oppression. He watched my every move, monitoring my phone calls and limiting my interactions with the outside world. I was trapped in a world of his making.

But despite the fear that consumed me, I couldn't help but feel a spark of defiance within me. I knew that I couldn't go on living like this forever. I had to find a way out, no matter what it took.

One night, as he slept beside me, I crept out of bed and began to pack my bags. I knew that I had to leave, no matter what the consequences. I couldn't go on living like a prisoner, trapped in a life that wasn't mine.

But as I was about to slip out the door, he stirred and woke up. "Where do you think you're going?" he asked, his voice cold and menacing.

"I-I'm leaving, Ethan. I can't take it anymore," I stammered, my heart racing with fear.

He moved towards me, his eyes blazing with anger. "You're not going anywhere, Irene. You belong to me, and you always will."

I backed away from him, my heart pounding in my chest. "Please, Ethan, let me go. I can't stay here anymore. I need to be free."

He moved towards me, his hands reaching out to grab me. "You'll never be free, Irene. You belong to me, and I'll never let you go."

I felt the panic rising in my throat as he advanced on me. I knew that I had to get out of there, no matter what it took. With a burst of energy, I pushed him away and ran towards the door.

But he was too fast. He caught me by the arm and dragged me back towards him. "You're not leaving me, Irene. Not now, not ever."

I struggled against him, but he was too strong. He pinned me down to the bed, his hands roaming over my body. I knew what was coming next, and I didn't know how I was going to survive that time.

But then, something unexpected happened. He saw the fear in my eyes and stopped himself. "I can't do this anymore, Irene," he whispered, his eyes filling with tears. "I can't keep hurting you like this."

He held me in his arms, his body shaking with sobs. "I'll let you go, Irene."

"Go! Have a taste of your free life. We don't need divorce but I won't interfere in anything you do. Have it your way," With that he closed the door and left me in my thoughts alone in the room, staring blankly.
