Restriction Letters

The Lincoln family has been on top of the food chain for business but now, Arissa gasped when she saw her proud family status

They have gone to the least bottom of the business food chain with no repair in under four months. She checked around the business world and saw another very private family as the top

She shut the laptop forcefully holding her heart in her chest. She suddenly had a thumping headache and knowing how much her father loves his company, she had a sickening feeling immediately.

No doubt that this can be a cause of his illness but why did she see no data about his hospital information? She opened her laptop again and after a fruitless search, she closed her laptop again and rested her head on her reading table.

All of these are too much for her. She feels so bad that she did not know about this earlier until it was this late. Feeling bothered and confused why they only called her now, Arissa walked into her bathroom and washed her face to calm down.

She lay on the bed and after staring at the ceiling for a long while, she fell asleep with a sober mind.

....

Arissa walked downstairs the moment she woke up because it was already lunch period. She slept this long because of how stressed she have been for the past few hours.

It's almost another day over where Jocelyn is right now, making her wonder what her friend is doing at the time.

Her feet suddenly stopped in their tracks when she spotted her father and her mother sitting on the couch laughing heartily and healthily.

Arissa blinked in confusion. Wasn't this the extremely and death point ill father of hers??

"Father..., Mother," Arissa called after getting close to the couch they were seated on. They were so spaced out with their lovey-dovey that they did not realize her close to this point.

Arissa pinched herself, to be sure that she is wide awake and no longer asleep. Remembering how panicked her mother was on the phone, she thought she would meet her father's last words.

"Father.." Arissa called as she walked to him and immediately, her father stood up and took her into his stuffed embrace.

Arissa hugged him with all her heart even though he did not bother to hug her back, "Are you okay now?" she asked softly as she pulled away from the hug when it was only becoming one-sided.

She can say to have a little spot for her father because the time he helped her with her school project is still engraved in her mind. It was a single one-time thing but because he is the fact that he is the first and only parent that ever did that with her, it went a long way in her heart to the point of creating a soft spot for him.

Arissa was about to touch his arm but her eyes turned cold back when she saw how he looked at her. Desperate?

Why is he looking at her so desperately like that?

"I guess I have to go now since the father is all right," she informed them more like already decided arrangements. She does not like the energy in this place any longer.

So gloomy.

Her voice was back to cold and this made her mother stand up from the couch she was seated on, "I'm sorry but you are no longer able to leave the country nor the state," her mother said ruthlessly with an ironic smile on her lips.

Arissa chuckled like she just heard a joke or something like that. Is this a joke or something?

"And why is that if I may ask?" She asked in a business-like manner. This is beyond her imagination.

What the hell was suddenly happening again, they possibly can't do that to her.

Her inside was racing with anxiety but she did all her possible best to not drop her indifferent mask.

"_because that is what we want you to do," Laura said to Arissa and looked at her husband. Arissa also did the same, she looked at her father.

He can't let this happen. She has a life there even if it isn't their standard.

After seeing how quiet her father was she knew he would love to say nothing about this so she spoke up herself, "You no longer have that power to stop someone from leaving the country. You would have done that years ago when you were still known as powerful," Arissa said ruthlessly, also rubbing the fact of the company's downfall at her mother's face so she would feel less proud.

Her mind was still in a mess and her sanity mattered.

Laura's face fell but she stood tall once again, "Here," she said as she picked up an already prepared document from the couch and tossed it at Arissa.

The girl does have a sharp mouth and guts but this would shut her up now.

Arissa looked at her parents and the other document file lying on the couch also.

With an expressionless face, she opened the first page of the document, and what she saw made her inside boil, "Restriction Letter!" She said like she just found something ridiculous and at that moment, her phone beeped with an email message.

It was sent an hour ago and it was from the highest departure members from this country and the other country.

Her eyes widen slightly. She is banned from entering that country again and also, and she can't leave this state unless she wins the court case concerning the matter.

Her heart dropped to her stomach but she remained expressionless as she said, "How did you have so much power to do this but can't restore your company?" she asked calmly. Too calm that it irked her mother.

"You_," her mother said charging forward to tear that sharp mouth of hers since she do not want to stop rubbing their shortcomings on them.

But her husband held her arm before she can move forward since he already knows what she was about to do, "That's because you would help us do it," her father answered still holding her mother's arm, "To take this to court, you would need the sum of fifty million and then you would have to pay your lawyer also and you don't have such amount. So now, am giving you easier means by doing what we want and getting your freedom back," her father explained like a friend talking about his best hobbies.
