chapter 17

I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. I trusted him. How could I be so stupid? To think I let him get intimate with me. He was just using me. I should have known. Seeing Tay and Ria sucking each other's faces felt like someone knocked the air out of my lungs. I let my guard down, and this happened. I thought he was different, and I believed him. I shouldn't have let him into my life and confided in him. I was okay with being his wife without getting deep into each other's lives. Now he slowly made me even more emotional than I already was.

I rush back to my room. I couldn't stand there and watch them. I lock the door and leave the key on the keyhole to make sure no one unlocks it using another key. Why am I feeling like this? I can't possibly feel anything for him, can I? I make my way to the bathroom and take a shower.

I undress and turn the shower on. What was I thinking that this marriage could work, huh? It was too good to be true, and I let myself down. I wrap myself with a towel and dry my hair. I put on my pajamas and lay on the bed staring at the ceiling. Minutes pass and there is a knock on my door. I let the person knock. I don't have the energy to respond and I don't want to see anyone, especially him. I trusted him and he betrayed me. The door's handle twists.

"Olivia, please let me in," Tay's voice begs and I remain still on the bed.

I grab my phone, insert ear sets, and listen to music. After hours of listening to music, I finally fall asleep.

A knock on the door jolts me awake; who could it be so early.

"Olivia? Open the door," Future's voice requests. I groan and drag myself from the bed and walk towards it. I unlock it and Future walks in with a small container of ice cream and two spoons. I close the door and watch as she throws herself on the bed.

"What happened?" I ask, and make my way to the bathroom. I wash my face and brush my teeth.

"I woke up in Andrew's room," Future tells me, and I walk out of the room.

"Naked," she finishes.

"What!" I say and join her on the bed. I open the container and we eat the ice cream as Future explains to me what happened after I left.

"Chad left right after you left to look for Tay, and Nate gave Andrew his phone to talk to some girl called Brie he once went out with," I keep my mouth shut from correcting her that Brie is Andrew's friend, not ex-girlfriend.

"They were face timing, giggling, and all. I was pissed and Nate wasn't helping as he kept on offering wine and telling me about the girl. I got jealous and took matters into my own hands," Future informs me. I seriously cannot believe Nate's plan was to make Future jealous and drunk out of her mind to talk to Andrew.

"What happened last night?" I stop midway with my mouth half-open. Talking to Future made me forget about last night's events and thinking about it now awakens the ache in my heart.

"Olivia, what happened last night?" Future asks again with worry.

"I might have been drunk last night, but the look on Nate's face when he came back from looking for the three of you proved that something bad happened. Nate is not the guy to get pissed, so something awful must have happened," Future informs me; I place the spoon back in the container and sigh.

"I found Tay and Ria kissing in his office," I tell Future.

"What!" Future asks, horrified.

"Yeah, Tay was kissing Ria," I say, tucking my hair behind my ear.

"I cannot believe him. He cheated on you hours after you exchanged vows. I'm going to kill him." it happened so fast that by the time I got the chance to do anything Future was already at the door and I rushed to stop her.

"Let me kill him, Olivia?" I have never seen her like this.

"He is not worth it," I tell Future, and she finally stops struggling and walks back towards the bed.

"How could you be so calm?" Future asks. Honestly, I don't have the energy to fight with him and I don't want to use the less energy I have for him.

"It still wouldn't change anything if I kill him," I tell Future.

"Fine, but I can't promise that I won't do anything when I see him," Future informs me. It's cute seeing her going all protective on me.

"Can I stay with you for a few days?" I ask Future.

"Sure,"

Later, she helps me pack my clothes while I take a shower. I just need time to collect my thoughts, and being here will delay my recovery. I want my old self back, the old me that didn't care what Tay Payne does with his life. The old emotionless Olivia, the Olivia that let nothing drowns her. I wrap my wet body with a towel and dress up in blue denim jeans, a white sweater, and black superstar sneakers. I fold my hair into a messy bun and walk out of the bathroom. Future has already finished packing and taping on her phone.

"I'm ready, let's go," I say and she snaps her head up. I grab my small bag and we make our way downstairs.

Tay is typing on his laptop; Nate and Andrew are watching something on Nate's phone. Tay snaps his head up as soon as I reach the bottom staircase. He rushes to me, and I stand still. I don't understand why I can't move my legs.

"Olivia, please listen to me," Tay pleads and holds my hand and tingles dance on my skin.

"Last night was a mistake, please let me explain." I look into his eyes and there's a look of regret in his eyes.

"Please don't leave. I beg you, don't go," Tay begs.

"Excuse you?" Future says tapping Tay's shoulder. She does the one thing I have been longing to do but didn't have the energy to do it. She punches Tay in the nose.

"What the…" Tay cups his nose and Future winces in pain as she tries to cool down her knuckles.

"Damn! Remind me to never get on her bad side," Nate says.

"Now I don't have to worry about people trying to beat the crap out of me. I have two badass women who throw punches like men!" Nate says, and Andrew smacks his head.

"That hurts," Nate says, rubbing the back of his head.

"It's supposed to hurt," Andrew tells him.

"God, that felt wonderful," Future says and we chuckle.

"I guess I deserve that," Tay says, rubbing his cheek.
