Chapter 40 A passionate woman

"Alright nice to meet you Tang Ning. The twins told me a lot about you the last time they were here," said Yin Chen. "Sure? Let me hope they were nice things," she said. "Absolutely. Thank you for taking care of them."

"You all should stop thanking me. The twins are adorable kids," she said and the lady nodded. "Where is Ms Jin Fei?" she asked.

"She was here moments ago but she went to her bedroom. I'm sure she will be back shortly," she said.

"Alright. In that case, I think I should start with the preparation for baking the cake," she said.

"Okay. Come with me this side," she said and together, they walked to the kitchen.

As they were still in preparation, Jin Fei arrived. "Tang Ning, I'm so happy to see you and forgive me for taking long. I was finishing with something," she said. "It is alright. Ms Yin Chen attended to me and I am going to start with the process," she informed

"Thank you. I will go and look at the decorations then," she said before walking away.

Seeing Tang Ning mixing the ingredients, Yin Chen said," You seem to be experienced in cooking." "Not so much. Just a little," she replied. "You remind me of Liling," she said.

"The twins' mother?" she asked and she nodded. "She was a great cook?" she asked.

"She was an expert. She even started up a restaurant because of the passion she had in cooking," she informed. "Really? That is wonderfull," she said before asking,"So, the restaurant closed?"

"It's still operating. Mr Jing Yue put it in the hands of people he trusts to run it," she said and she nodded. "She seemed to be a very passionate woman," she said. "Yes she was," she replied before saying," Let me hope you have everything you need." Looking around the things laid on the counter, she said," Yes. I guess so."

"Alright. I will go and see what these stubborn kids are up to or else they might set this house on fire," she said and the two chuckled before she left.

A few hours later, Jin Fei came back and she found three huge cakes laid at the counter.

"Wow, this is unbelievable! You're so wonderful," she praised as she looked at them all.

"Thank you," replied Tang Ning whose concentration was on designing one of them. "How do you see this? Would you like me to put any specific designs?" she asked looking at her. "Just come up with anything. That is already amazing," she replied.

"Alright then," she replied, switching to another one.

"Why don't you take some rest? You've been working on this for hours."

"It is alright. I will rest the moment I finish everything," she said. "Are you sure?" she asked and she nodded.

"At what time is Jing Yue coming?" asked Jin Fei. "I really don't know. When little Huan asked him, he said that he may come if he gets any free time," she answered. "May come? How dare he?!" "I don't know. That's what he said," she replied. "Let me call him," said Jin Fei and she got her phone before calling him.

"Jing Yue, where are you?" she asked the moment he picked up.

She heard him groan before he asked," Has the party started?" "Soon. When are you arriving?" she asked. "I don't know. I will see if I will be able to make it. But tell Lian that I will deliver her gift even though I don't come," he said.

"Forget about that Jing Yue. You must attend Lian's birthday. I don't care how busy you are. I'm waiting for you," she said before hanging up.

After, Tang Ning who couldn't keep her curiosity in check asked," Is he coming?"

"He didn't exactly tell me but I also didn't leave room for discussion. I think he will come," she replied.

A while later when she had left, Tang Ning who was still working was interrupted when the twins and the others came to the kitchen.

"Pretty auntie, the cakes look so beautiful," complimented Huan. "Sure?" she asked and she nodded enthusiastically. "Aunt Ning, Meiling and I would like to have some cake," said Juan who was holding the little one's hand.

"Me too," said Lian. "Me too," added Huan.

"Alright," she said and she walked to the fridge before getting a small cake then came back with it. She had anticipated this from the kids and baked a small cake for them.

She sliced it and handed each of them a piece who thanked her and they ran away as if they were done with what brought them.

When it clocked to three, all the arrangements were done and some of the guests had arrived. The party was mainly for kids from Lian's kindergarten and the adults at the party were mainly family and a few neighbors.

Checking in her bag, Tang Ning released a frustrated sigh when she failed to find the dress she had organized for the party. It finally dawned on her that she had left it on the bed at home when she was rushing in the morning. She sat on the bed and she reached for her hair before pulling it frustratedly. She then got up and went to help the kids with dressing up.

Reaching the room, Yin Chen was with them and they were from having a shower.

"You shouldn't worry about them. I will dress them up," she said. "Are you sure you don't need any help?" asked Tang Ning. "Yes I'm fine," she replied and she went back to the room.

Reaching, she sat back on the bed not knowing what to do next. Just then, there came a knock on the door before it opened and Jin Fei came in. "You're here. I came to check on you. Do you have everything you need here?" she asked.

"Uh, yes." "Alright. I will go and get dressed then," she said turning around to leave. "Uh, Ms Jin, I need some help," she told her.
