Chapter 38 Your help

After dinner, Tang Ning started organising the things she left a bit messy and while she was at it, little Huan came to her room.

"Pretty auntie," she called as she walked to her. "Yes baby." "Can I sleep here with you tonight?" she asked.

"Why? You fear sleeping in your room?"

She shook her head and said," No. I just want to sleep here with you." "Sure?" she asked and she nodded. "Alright then," she said and she helped her get into the bed before covering her.

"I will come back when I'm done with putting some things together okay?" she asked and she nodded.

Tang Ning went to finish with what she was doing and after left to have a shower. By the time she came back, Huan was knocked out and she was sleeping horizontally in the bed.

She got on the bed and sighed softly before putting her back in place. Dimming the lights, she got in and slept besides her.

Tang Ning woke up earlier than usual because Huan was moving all over the bed. Most times she woke up with her legs wrapped around her neck. Getting up, she went to the bathroom and brushed her teeth.

Leaving the room, she started walking towards the kitchen when she heard the main door open. She stopped to see who it was and Jing Yue came in. He looked as though he was from jogging, and he was dressed in a black undershirt with grey jogger pants. Some strands of hair were stuck to his forehead as it was covered by a layer of sweat. "You're up early," he said as he stepped closer. "Yes. I-I wanted to make breakfast," she replied. "Why? There are maids that are supposed to do that," he remarked.

"Yes but I decided to do it today," she said before adding," Little Huan slept in my room, I hope you don't mind it." "It's fine. She wasn't in her room when I checked and I guessed that she is with you," he said.

She nodded her head and then came silence. "Alright..I will go and prepare breakfast," she said and started moving towards the kitchen but she heard him following her. She got alarmed when she remembered what was yet to happen between them in the kitchen last time. Reaching, she walked to the pans and fidgeted with them nervously.

On getting in, Jing Yue walked to the fridge and he opened it before getting himself a bottle of water. Closing it, he removed the lid and took a sip before glancing at her. Seeing her tense situation, he decided to let her do what she had come for.

Tang Ning released a sigh of relief when he left but she couldn't deny that deep down, she felt disappointed. She shook her head to get rid of the thoughts and she started preparing the food.

At around noon, Tang Ning was planning on taking a nap since the twins were sleeping, when she heard a knock on the door. Going to open, she was surprised at whom she saw. "Ms Jin," she called. She smiled at her and asked," May I come in?" "Of course," she said stepping aside.

Getting in, Li Fei walked to take a seat on a chair and Tang Ning went to clear a few things that were scattered on the bed. She laughed sheepishly and said," I'm so sorry. I'm not always this messy." "It's alright," she replied. "Uh, what can I bring you? Water, juice, snacks? Anything," she said.

"Water will do," she replied and Tang Ning rushed out of the room.

Shortly, she came back with a glass of water and a plate of cookies. "I made them this morning. I thought you may like them," she said as she placed them on the table in front of her. "Alright thank you." Taking a bite on it, she said," They are nice. I can't believe you made these." She smiled and said," They are easy to make. Just following instructions and using the right amount of ingredients." "You're lucky. As for me, I'm just not good at cooking," she admitted as she chewed on the cookie.

After eating three of the cookies, she took a sip on the water before wiping her lips. "I would have eaten more but I wasn't that hungry," she said apologetically. "It is okay I understand," she said. "Alright. The thing is, I came to ask for your help," said Li Fei and it got her attention. "My daughter Lian's birthday is next weekend and I would like your help in organising it. Like accompanying me in buying the essentials and also being there with me on the day. That is if you don't mind it," she said. "Really? You would want me to help?" she asked. "Yes. And you should not worry about Jing Yue, I will talk to him and he will permit you," she said. "Alright. I have no problem with it," she said.

"Thank you so much." "Alright then. In that case, I will come for you tomorrow morning so that we can go to the mall and buy some things." "Alright. I will be waiting," she said and the two exchanged contacts.

"Okay bye. Thank you once again," she said before leaving.

The next day in the morning therefore, Jin Fei was at the Jing household to pick up Tang Ning. She made sure to park outside because she knew that the twins would want to come with them yet they had a very busy day ahead of them. Calling Tang Ning, she informed her that she was outside and she arrived in ten minutes.

"I hope I didn't take long," said Tang Ning as she climbed inside. "Not at all," said Li Fei and when she was done with buckling her belt, she started the car and they set off.

They spent half of the day shopping various things until Li Fei suggested that they should take some rest and also have something to eat.

As they sat down to order for food, Tang Ning noticed Li Fei getting continuous phone calls and she realized that she was a busy woman.
