Chapter 3 Feelings for him

When night fell, Tang Ning and her father sat in the living room as he watched a political program. A while later, they heard a knock on the door and she went to open.

Tang Moyu came in and the other didn't miss to catch on the stench of liquor and other intoxicants on her.

Before she could close the door, she peeked outside and saw a gang of weird people that Moyu usually hangs out with. She hurriedly closed the door before locking it and walked back inside.

Walking to the kitchen where she found her checking in the pans for food, she asked," Where are you coming from Moyu?"

"I'm past the age of explaining myself to anybody much less you," came her nonchalant words. "But when will you change? You're hanging out with dangerous people and that in turn puts your life as well as ours in danger." "Stop behaving like a saint when you're not. Don't think I forgot how you seduced the only boy I had interest in high school," she said and Tang Ning rolled her eyes before saying," I never seduced him. He came to me on his own."

"So, you want to deny that you didn't have any feelings for him?" she asked. "Whatever. The good thing is that he left and he's no longer here to create more misunderstandings. Tell me, when do you plan on getting a job? It's difficult for me to take care of everything at the house."

"I think you're forgetting something," Moyu said as she tasted the food she had put on the plate," All this happened because of you. You're responsible for mother's death so carry the burden yourself," she said and picked up her plate then walked out of the kitchen.

Tang Ning sighed before shaking her head. In the past, those words would hurt her and she would cry but not anymore. She had learned not to take it at heart for her own sanity.

The following day, Tang Ning woke up very early because she didn't want to be late again. After having her breakfast, she left the house and hailed a cab to drive her towards the given address.

Throughout the way, she was thinking about how she was going to leave her father with her irresponsible elder sister because if she got the job, it meant that she had to move in the house. Of course she was going to hire a helper at home so that she could take care of her father. But she didn't know if she will take care of him as required.

"We're here miss," the driver said and she checked in her purse before giving him his money.

Standing in front of the huge house, her eyes scanned the vast area before she walked towards the gate. "Good morning. This is the Jing household I guess," she said with a smile and the guard nodded. "Alright. I got information that a nanny is needed here and I came to do the job interview," she explained.

"And where did you get the information?" She took a deep breath before saying," From my friend. The retiring nanny is her aunt, so she got the information and in turn told me," she said. Looking at her, he said," Your Id." She checked in her purse and got it then gave it to him. He looked at it and after, asked to check her bag.

After all the procedures, she was let in and under her breath, she muttered," As if am a criminal or something." She gawked at the luxurious house and she couldn't help but wonder why rich people were so extravagant.

"I wouldn't build such a big house," she said as she walked towards the front door of the house.

When she reached, she was yet to knock when the door was opened revealing an elderly man who wore a black and white uniform.

She smiled at him and said," Hey good morning. I'm called - " "Tang Ning?" he asked before she could complete and she nodded her head. "Yes that's me."

"Come with me," he said before turning and she followed him inside the house.

Her eyes were scanning the vast house as she walked, admiring the internal setting of the house.

"Here miss. You can get in. Ms Fang has been waiting for you," he said gesturing her to go inside the door he had opened. Ms Fang? She thought she remembered the name from somewhere but couldn't tell where exactly. "Thank you," she replied, the smile never leaving her face before she walked in.

She saw an elderly woman and immediately recognized her. It was the same woman she met at the mall with the twins, she thought as she went closer. She couldn't believe how small the world was. Did it mean that the kids were the other two cute ones she was with? In the same room were three girls and she realized that they were her competitors. She couldn't believe that she came last despite that she had woken up very early.

"You're welcome Ms Tang Ning," spoke Ms Fang when he spotted her and the rest looked at her as well.

She smiled and said," Thank you."

"You found me speaking to your fellows. We expected the young master to join us but he couldn't make it so I will be handling this alone. You're all going to be interviewed and tested then the best one will be given the job. Are we clear about that?" she asked and they nodded. Tang Ning wondered if the woman hadn't recognized her.

She took a seat with the rest, as they were being asked multiple questions. She noticed that out of the four, she was the only one who has never worked as a nanny before and it scored her less chances to win.

After the session, the woman asked them to leave their contacts behind as the winner will be contacted soon.
