Alex was ready to tell her brother about her plan and how she will be able to pay up hospital bills.

"Dan, I need to talk to you about something really important and I want you to be patient with me,listen,okay??"

"Okay,you sound too serious, what's going on Alex?"

"I'd be getting married soon,a contract marriage by the way"

"Lmao,you joking,you know how bad my chest hurts please don't play with me"

"I'm not joking Dan,I'm serious "

"No you're not because you would never do that and for what reason Alex?,because of my hospital Bill's? You decide to do something that crazy?? I'd rather die than let you marry someone just because of money"

"Dan please, your health and well being comes first, before anything and I'm not staying with this person forever, once the contract is over,we'd move on with our lives"

"We?"

"Yes,he needs a fake family, a wife and son for his business and also needs money for my brother's well being, this is just a mutually benefiting relationship, Dan please…."

"No you didn't do that Alex!" Dan yelled,provoked.

"No Alex, I'm not doing that with you,I'd rather die" he sobbed.

Abigail who was standing in the corner of the room was speechless as the conversation didn't go well between the two siblings. She saw how helpless Alex was. Alex has always loved her brother and never wanted to intentionally hurt him this much,so she decided to interfere in the conversation and help her best friend out.

"Dan,please understand…."

"Don't even dare interfere, Abby,don't dare" Dan cut her off.

You're such a cruel friend, you allowed your best friend to marry herself off to a stranger because of money and you don't even feel bad about it.

Abigail thought Dan was being childish and unreasonable because Alex was obviously risking her own life for him but he was too clouded by his emotions and couldn't see that,so she decided to keep quiet and leave the room.

Alex followed,leaving her brother to himself.

Alex and Abigail went out for a stroll to enjoy the cool and refreshing breeze because the conversation with their little brother didn't go well. Abigail was another family to Alex,though they were not related by blood but Alex,she was part of her family.

The two best friends strolled,holding hands without muttering any words to each other,just enjoying the views of the street light, with cars screeching, the cool breeze and birds chirping.

"I'm sorry Dan talked to you that way,he was probably feeling too much at that moment and was in denial of the whole situation…." Alex finally talked.

"Shhhh,Dan is also my brother, he's just a kid. If anything I should apologise on his behalf for making you feel like the worse sister "

"He's just a kid after all and maybe I'm the worst sister in the whole wide world"

"No you're not,you're the best"

"Thank you "

The two best friends went home that day leaving Dan alone at the hospital, since they were sure he wouldn't talk to them. They decided to leave him to process everything, they felt bad for him because they knew how hard the situation is on them,not to talk of an 18yrs old boy.

Dan was left alone with his thoughts, he cried that night asking God to provide other ways for her sister to get his medical fees paid rather than her marrying herself off. He prayed so much but eventually realised there was no much for him to do than to accept this.

He thought to himself how his sister had always given up everything for him just so he can be fine and okay and up to this moment she's giving up her whole life for him.

Dan knew how much Alex and Abigail had planned their weddings, how they've always talked about their wedding day and being each other's best lady. But unfortunately, his sister is getting married on a contract just to save his life.

Dan realised there was no greater love than this,he felt bad for being an ingrate and only yelled at her sister rather than seeing from her point of view and appreciating her,though he knew all these but felt really bad that Alex was giving up her dream for him to survive. He only acted on how he felt and not see the unconditional love her sister had for him.

Dan made up his mind that night to apologise to both Alex and Abigail especially to his sister, Alex.

It was a bright Saturday morning, and the girls decided to make breakfast, Dan's favourite meal. They wanted to make him happy even though they didn't know if that would work.

Alex and Abigail left home that morning after making Dan's favourite meal and doing house chores. It was the weekend, they planned to make Dan happy and just relax.

They got to the hospital and went into Dan's room.

"Good morning " Dan greeted them with a smile.

"Morning" they replied in unison looking at each other,surprised.

"I thought about it last night and realised I was being such a jerk. You've showed me nothing but love,you never made me feel like I lost my parents, you've always been there for me,the best and worst part of my life and now you're risking your life for me,giving up on your dream and the only thing I could do was judge you,I'm so sorry sister, I'm so sorry…." Dan sobbed bitterly after letting out such emotions.

Alex was emotional seeing her brother cry and listening to the words that came out of his mouth. She didn't expect this,he melted her heart. She hugged him and patted his back,gave him a kiss on his cheek.

"I forgive you little one, I promised myself to do anything and everything for you and I will never fail you on that, I love you" Alex told her brother.

"Thank you for being the best sister in the whole wide world"

Alex shed little tears because just yesternight, she thought she was the worst sister in the whole wide world.

Dan sure does know how to make his sister happy and emotional.

Abigail was happy the two siblings were finally on the same page.

Dan also apologised to Abigail for being rude to her the other night, she also forgave him and gave him a peck on the cheek.

They were about to eat their breakfast when Alex's phone rang.

"Hello,good morning Miss Smith"

"Good morning sir"

"I'm to remind that you're invited to the Miller's Investment and co on Monday to sign some documents "

Alex looked over to her brother searching for answers.

Dan smiled and nodded.

"Okay,I'd be there,thank you"

"You're welcome "
