I think I like him.
"Alex, are you ready?" Andrew asked while he stood outside Alex's room door.
"Almost, I'm coming," she replied.
Andrew had earlier told Alex about the event they were attending. It was a close friend's birthday party and Andrew didn't want to go alone.
Alex came out of her room and Andrew was speechless. She looked incredible.
"Wow…..I didn't know this dress would fit perfectly. I was second guessing when I picked it out for you" he said.
Andrew picked that particular dress for Alex at their last shopping. It was the most expensive one and she wore it because he picked it for her by himself. She liked it.
Alex smiled. "I know right"
Alex was starting to get comfortable around Andrew and she enjoyed his company. She never had any close male friends and this was unexpected but she just wanted to enjoy it while experiencing it.
She took his hand and they both walked hand in hand down the stairs.
Andrew stared at her but she noticed his glare.
"What now?, you didn't know I can do my makeup so well??" She said,laughing.
"You're beautiful," he muttered,softly.
His deep and soft voice made Alex almost pee on herself. A felt a hot tingling sensation.
'Oh my ovaries, why is this man doing this? I want to have his baby already, ' she thought.
Alex looked at him shyly.
She prayed she wouldn't end up doing something stupid at the event. She just wanted to drink to stupor and have fun.
"Easy…." Andrew said while helping Alex get out of the car. He held her hand and they both walked in.
"Welcome Mr Miller " the crowd greeted and honoured Andrew's presence.
He smiled and waved his hand in the air,greeting them back.
"Wow,everyone knows you" Alex stated.
"That's what happens when you're a powerful and influential billionaire " he replied in a sarcastic and playful tone.
"I see. Wanna share your story?. How do you end up being a billionaire?" She asked.
"It's a long story….but I will try. Let me get us something to drink "
Andrew stood up and walked up to one of the waiters at the event to get his drink.
"Thank you, " he told the waiter.
"I don't think this little glass will do,I actually planned on drinking to stupor" Alex said.
"Are you serious?" He asked.
"Do I look like someone who's not?" She replied with a serious face.
"Okay okay don't bite me" he said.
They both laughed and Andrew went to get a bottle of Tequila.
"Now this is the one," Alex said while holding the bottle of Tequila.
"Are you sure about this?" Andrew asked because he felt it wasn't going to end well if she was a lightweight.
"Def sure…now let me hear your story" she grinned.
"I lost my mother when I was 15 so my dad married another wife. She wasn't the best step mom because she hated me and wanted everything for her son who wasn't my dad's legitimate son. I was the only son of my father."
Alex quietly stared at him as he talked.
"Fast forward to five years later. I also lost my dad. He was the best father. We got to find out that my dad left most of his properties in my name and that angered my step mom and his son. They did everything they could to have my father's property but I couldn't let that happen. Thanks to John and my father's lawyer"
Alex saw a fickle of rare emotions in his eyes but it faded away before she could read and understand what it was.
"So where's your step mom and her son?" She asked.
"My step mom died and my step brother is in prison because he tried to kill me but ended up shooting his own mother" he explained.
"Wow…that is crazy," she said.
"I kept working and building the company's name. Now we're here. I'm Miller,a man of influence. Though I don't feel safe because my step brother will be out soon and I'm sure he hasn't given up because he promised to end my life once he's back and take over everything I own"
"What?!, he's a psychopath" she yelled,loudly.
Alex poured her fifth glass of alcohol and imbibed it. At that point,Andrew knew she was intoxicated.
"Hey we should leave now" he told her.
Alex stood up and walked closer to Andrew. She buried her face in his chest. "You're such a kind person and thank you for being my friend," she said.
"You're the better person because you gave me a second chance," he replied.
Alex looked up at him and wanted to kiss him but Andrew moved his head backward.
"Oh you're the tough type huh?" She said, raising her brows.
Andrew just smiled. "Time up"
Andrew took Alex's hand and walked her out of the event. He was slightly embarrassed because she kept talking and yelling which made people stare at him with curiosity.
"Alex, keep your voice down. What are you saying?" He asked.
Alex kept murmuring and he couldn't understand her.
They got outside and he let go of her. He didn't know what to do with her.
Alex covered her mouth with her hands and Andrew instantly knew what she wanted to do.
Throw up.
Alex couldn't hold it in any longer, there was no sign of a nearby toilet or free spaces outside the event. She turned back and mistakenly threw up on a man who happened to pass by at that bad timing.
"What the fuck!" The man yelled.
She waved her hand telling him sorry because she couldn't say anything and still wanted to throw up.
"You're such a loser,a woman like you should be at home making food and taking care of the family not embarrassing yourself and drinking around" the man kept talking.
Andrew walked up to him."I won't allow you disrespect my wife just because she made a mistake. How much is your suit?" Andrew said.
Alex heard the part he called her his wife and froze instantly. She didn't believe he could say that or defended her.
"I don't need your money" the man hissed and walked away.
"I'm sorry" Alex apologised to Andrew.
He looked at her pitifully.
"You're a hot mess right now" he said in a deep,dark and flirtatious tone.
Alex felt her body tensed up. His words made her body shiver.
They stared at each other for a while with lust in both of their eyes.
'Why can't I break away from this dark chain' Alex thought and she couldn't look away or speak.
She walked closer to him and kissed him.
"I think I like you," she said.
