Can I do this?

A bright Saturday morning and it was finally time for Alex and Dan to move in with Andrew in his house.

They packed their belongings and were waiting for their ride.

Andrew already told Alex that his driver will be picking them up.

Alex,Dan and Abigail talked and laughed while Alex and Dan were patiently waiting for their ride,though Alex was anxious.

They expressed their emotions at that moment and Abigail was sad because she will miss her best friend.

Abigail has always loved the idea of staying with her best friend, she loved Alex more than her actual siblings. She was so happy when Alex and Dan moved into her apartment shortly after the incident with their parents.

They've also been roommates since college days which make living together easy for them,they've been the very best friends since they were little and now that one of them had to move out suddenly makes Abigail's heart ache.

"This is going to be hard and honestly too sudden, it feels surreal " Abigail said.

"Oh common Abby,it's not like I'm dying, I will come back soon,it's just for six months,moreover we'd see and visit each other often "

"I know but it's still hard and can't be like having you around here 24/7. How am I going to survive staying alone? I don't have any friends either, " she pouted and sounded sad.

"Oh my sweet best friend,I will be back soon" Alex replied to her.

The horn of the car brought them back from their dreamy world.

They hugged and said their goodbyes.

"Take care"

"You both should take care too"

"Yeah sure"

"Bye"

They were silent throughout the ride and left with their own thoughts.

"We're here ma'am "

Alex was surprised with the way he addressed her,the "ma'am" but she didn't say anything, just surprised and looked at her brother who also seemed surprised.

"Oh" Alex and Dan got down from the car.

"Don't worry" the driver told them as they were about to pack their belongings themselves.

All these treatments were strange to them because they are the ones who treat people like this,at their place of work or anywhere else,so someone else treating them with so much respect is definitely weird and new to them.

Alex pressed the doorbell and a lady opened the door.

"Welcome Alex," the lady said, smiling.

"Thank you" Alex replied, smiling back.

"What's your name?"

"Angel"

"No wonder you look like one" she teased her.

"Let me take you to your rooms,I have prepared them before you"

Alex and Dan looked everywhere with wide eyes.

"Woah ... .this place is huge,I only get to see places like this in movies or fantasy worlds," Dan said.

Alex looked everywhere and gulped hard,she glared at her surprised brother with the corner of her eyes.

She was speechless.

"Common,let's get you settled down" Angel's voice distracted their thoughts.

"Oh yes sure" Alex replied to her.

They went upstairs and settled down in their various rooms.

Alex's room was a large well decorated space, she loved the interior design as it was simple with both colours and items used for the decorations. It was perfect for her kind of person.

While Dan on the other hand was extremely happy about everything in his room, especially the games, he had wished for this type of life for a long time.

"Finally" he said and happily jumped on the bed.

Alex sorted her things and went downstairs.

"Excuse me,Angel,please where is he?"

"Oh,he doesn't come here on weekends except if it's important "

Alex thought to herself why he would make it compulsory for them to come here during weekends when he wouldn't be around, so they weren't important enough to him,she thought.

"Such a rude jerk" she whispered to herself and groaned in frustration because she was already bored and missed her best friend.

Alex was about to leave the sitting room to go upstairs to her room and inform her best friend that they arrived safely but the sound of the opened door made her turn back.

"Welcome sir" Angel greeted Andrew but he didn't respond.

Alex cleared her throat.

"Uh hi"

"Welcome" he replied to her and instantly went upstairs to freshen up.

"I wonder if being nice and polite is a crime in his world" Alex said to herself shaking her head and went back to her room.

After hours of talking and gisting with her best friend on call,Alex finally said goodbye to Abigail as Angel was calling her to come downstairs for dinner.

It felt weird being treated like that so she asked if she could just eat her food in the room.

"There's no such thing in this house" Andrew came out of his room stating sternly.

Alex rolled her eyes.

"Rude jerk," she whispered to herself.

Andrew heard her,he stopped and gave her a 'say that one more time and die' look and instantly went downstairs to the dining room.

Alex froze in place with those intense glare of his.

She sighed in relief when he left.

Dan looked at her sister and pat her shoulder saying;

"The rich are always mean,don't take it to heart" and also left.

Alex was left alone standing and wondering if signing the contract wasn't the worst decision she's made in her entire life.

"Thank you" she said to Angel after serving their meals.

Angel only responded with a smile.

Andrew stared blankly at Alex still baffled by what she said because no one dares to ever say such to him.

Alex noticed his glare on her but decided to ignore and just finish her food.

Dan felt awkward about the silence and his glare on his sister.

"Uhmm….I "

"Table manners," Andrew said, cutting him off.

Dan kept quiet and just continued eating.

Alex looked at her brother and gave him a smile,Dan smiled back and they all ate their food without uttering a word.

Andrew got up after eating.

"I just wanted to say thank you for helping me with my hospital bill " Dan finally said.

"You should thank your sister," he replied, walking away without looking back.

Alex sighed.
