Hello! This is the author here. 'His Rui' is my first story so there must be need for some improvement. There will be some grammatical mistakes as well. So please bear with me. However, I can assure you that the plot will not disappoint you. There are many twists and turns that will be present till the last chapter. So if you have decided to give it a read, I thank you for giving 'His Rui' a chance. An honest review will always be appreciated. Thanks Ada:)
This is my first time writing a review for any book on webnovel and I might say, this book really dragged me to the review section. Commendable of you author! For the starters, the story is just like any historical storyline with a scheming royalty, intricate rivalry of clans, drugs, jealousy and a few brainless characters that you can't help but strangle. Don't run away all of y'all. I've more to say. But what I like of this is actually a very absorbing storyline where you can't help but wait for every new chapter wanting to know more and more of what it has in store. In the beginning, I didn't quite liked this make lead but the more the story progresses the more you want to be a sadist and yet want happy endings. The female lead is very calm, something I quite like. Not your regular female lead who's jumped up as some great woman, goes around faceslapping and all. No, its a normal ancient type of female but who's rational and intelligent enough in her own ways. Read the story for more since I'm not gonna spoil anything here. The side characters also have their own story and I'm being sadistic as always, hehe. Nevertheless, this book is worth a try for all historical genre fanatic readers.ππ

Iβll be honest here. I really liked this story the first time I read it. Even though I did not like Xi Ying at the beginning you eventually get to appreciate him a bit by the end. To me how he treated Li Rui was unforgivable no matter what, but I also did understand that theyβre meant to be. The thing is I have read the book three times now and some things still do not set well with me till now. Whatever one may say you canβt refute the fact the Ruiβs parents were not a good parents. They did not even believe her when the incident took place nor did they try to investigate what happened. Her father literally used his own daughter to protect his wife because in his eyes she was more important. He could not stand to see his wife in distress and unhappy, so he decided to sacrifice his daughterβs happiness for hers. Her mother is no better, until the end she could not even tell that most of the problems occurring in her daughters life and her family are related to her. Even Xi Ying said that she was a very stupid woman to not be able to see all of this. The emperor loving her was not her fault we all agree about that. But how could she not see that her daughter was the collateral of her naivety?? Itβs because sheβs how sheβs that her husband dare take big measures without telling her. To me itβs like she was the real heroine of the story. All her life she got to be carefree and loved by everyone without having to worry about anything, while everybody else had to suffer and take the brunt of the stick for her to get a ressemble of happiness. I also believe that Yi Junjie deserved his chance with Rui. I know I said that Ying and Rui were meant to be, but I would have loved to see an alternate life where Rui and Junjie got a happy ending (thatβs just a wishful thinking). The love of Junjie was more realistic and appealed to me a big time. He really did his best for Rui, be it before the incident, during the 4 years and after. As for Zhang Wei and Huiqin canβt say much about them. Was more engrossed in Xi-Li story. Sorry for the long rant just wanted share my thoughts.π
Dear author the chemistry between our main characters rui and xi ying is good . the progress of the story and the fl both are very interesting . But can you spoil us a little about your plans for the 2nd couple , the 2nd prince and his consort ? will they end up together ? and what about their child?
i usually do not pic historical dramas as i don't like myself to get frustrated. but i picked this one seing the tags but after reading 200 plus chapters, i understand that i was mislead. first its not rebirth, being unconscious/coma and roaming for a few months is not rebirth. i mean rebirth tag for webnovels, not literal meaning. there is no faceslapping as well. too much drama and sadness which is not my cup of tea. I was expecting face slapping so i did not expect it to be too tragic. I would like to read a mixed one, like some emotional scenes then some fun part, action etc. also the misunderstanding was dragged too much that it became annoying. because not a single character talks and leads to misunderstanding. nobody bothers to explain, especially the couple and second couple. if there is a creative misunderstanding, then it is understandable but here most of them are due miscommunication and dragged for long, still not a single thing is cleared. clearly several opportunities were there but it appeared deliberated so as to give mystery vibe. i doubt most readers will drop in the middle because of this. i because we have to wait for updates is one thing and too much dragging will lead to frustration. even while Bing reading i felt that. now pros of the novel, very nice plot and writing style is very good for except the things above. explaining of the emotions is too good and i loved it. grammar mistakes are minimal to zero in most chapters. though misunderstanding is dragged and annoying, the plot is captivating. i will buy another 50 chapters to see how it goes, because i read for entertainment and release my stress. if the sadness continues and misunderstandings are not cleared then i will drop. though its only around 10 to 20 percent, still there are a few sweet scenes. seing the writing talent of the author, I really wished to have read a more entertaining novel than sadness or at least a mixed one.
