Walls of the Past

As my eyes flutter open I couldn't help but feel the familiar scenery around me. The nursery that I knew in my early adolescence as the one that I owed my life.

"My darling!" I hear as I can't say anything, only make the smallest of noises. "This is for the better" I hear from my mother's mouth as she leaves something on the floor, opening it s she closes the door and leaves.

What was this? I think to myself as I throw myself on my side, looking to the floor as I hear hissing, and I knew instantly, this was going to hurt a lot!

Flipping back over on my back and looking the viper in the eyes of its two heads. They finally seemed to focus on something, food, and that was me! Sinking it's teeth in my thighs as I cry, letting out the most deafening cry as nobody cares. And I lie there, the venom coursing through my body and weakening me as before my world caves in confronted with the face of the dead viper, lying next to me.

"You have no power!" My mother say angrily as I flinch, her power took bits of me I didn't desire something with a price.

"Mom?" I call to her as she looks at me, he violet eyes glowing in the moonlight as she walks to me.

"And those eyes of yours!" She says, "Hideous!" She remarks as the back of her hands meets my face, cutting my skin against her cheek.

"Ah!" I let out as I hold my face in my hands, the blood dripping in my hands as I look up to her. My eyes filled with tears and remorse for whatever I did to make her angry. This was the first time she ever laid a hand on me.

"I cut you?" She speaks, her words coming out as a question, as she pulls my face towards hers. Looking at the blood on my hands, and then to my face. "Why don't you bleed?" She ask me as confusion crosses me. "Come" she encourages me as I slip my hands into her and she leads me to the mirror. Her hands set on my shoulder.

"I didn't understand" my voice coming out as a whisper, "I felt the cut, your ring?!" I reason as she smirks, seeing her reflection in the mirror.

"You will be Dern's best soldier, this is your destiny!" She smiles as I shudder at her words.

"SHE DID IT!" I shout, finally being able to move my body as I take a breath of relief.

"Who did what?" My father rushes to my side as I look to his eyes.

"Azalea" I murmur her name, "The viper was no coincidence father, she set it in my room. She wanted me dead!" I confess as his eyes show nothing, but everything all at once. "She was a liar?" I question as my father turns to me.

"DON'T SPEAK ILL OF YOUR MOTHER IN THAT MANNER!" He yells as I shudder at his tone to me. "She would never lie" he tells himself, not me, but I know he knew better.

"I will speak ill of the women that tried to kill me!" I tell him as I stand up, towering over him as he stays, sitting beneath me.

"Must've been a mistake" he says as he looks up to me, "She's you mother Gehenna, get your head out of the gutter!" He berates me as I gasp to his unkindly words.

"She never looked for you" I quickly say. "I checked the books, no guards, no orders nada. She never looked, would the doting wise you knew do that? Face the facts, her soul died when she tried to kill her own child!" I let the reason leak through my lips as I turn my back to him, I needed to process this, I couldn't stay in here. As I walk out of the tower and finally see him, the reason for my hurt, William!

Marching through the field, as the men part for me as the sea for the wind as I continue through the field. Feeling the anger in my fingertips, ready to be released.

"WILLIAM?" I call him as I disrupt all the training on the field as the general stands in front of me. "You have no right!" I tell him as he snicker at my tone.

"And you seem to have no idea to who your talking to" he says as I try to control my anger.

"My army, is in my hands" I remind him about my possession.

"No, it's not" he tells me as he shakes me off, turning back to the general and continuing their conversation as before.

Maybe it was the anger, the hunger for chaos or I reach the peak of dealing with My husband and men in general.

"It's is when I'm leading them!" I tell him as I step closer to him. "Did you forget who is pulling you out of this chaos?" I ask him, defying him

"If I may interrupt your majesty?" The general begs as I look to him.

"What must you say?" I ask him as he ignores me, looking to William as I can no longer hold back.

As I walk to him, anger possessing my body.

"What is it, my lady?" He ask as I grab his face with my hands, trying something out. His eyes fading to dark black in front of me as he falls to the floor, disheveled.

"I CAN'T SEE!" He yells as I smirk, standing over him.

"If only you had respected me" I tell him as his hands reach for his eyes.

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?" William ask me as he backs me into a corner and against the stone wall as I shake beneath his body, in lust. "TELL ME!" He roars as he holds my hands above my head as I smirk, of only he knew what he was doing to me. But then again, I would make sure he would never talk to me like this again.

"How dare you!" I finally respond as I yank my hands from his grip, pushing him away from me. "YOU WOULD HAVE NOTHING IF IT WASN'T FOR ME!" I remind him as I use the back of my hand, hitting him across his cheeks as I realize it when he stumbles back, I cut him.

"Hideous" I mumble as I swallow hard with the emergence of blood on his cheek as I dig my nails into my palms. "Don't make me do this again!" I warn him as I walk away and into the castle. As I enter the castle I feel hurry, running to my chambers, closing the door and walking to the mirror as I see some of William's blood on my ring.
