Hatred Brewing Within a Union

"How did you sleep?" My handmaiden ask as I smile at her question.

The reason I smiled was because I didn't want to give her the truth, that I didn't sleep. My night was consumed with me rummaging my mind why I told him? Would he keep my secret? But I had no other choice but to hold my head up and smile again. I had to be strong. Without strength the people in this place would tear me to pieces.

"Well" I tell her as she brushes my hair and I turn to her. "Do you know where Beth is?" I ask her as she falls silent, putting the brush down.

"Rumour has it that she's on the far side of the castle" she gossips as I sigh. I know I had to find her, I had to protect her. But I had to find someone first.

"I think I'm ready for today" I say as I stand from the chair. My red gown clinging to my body, as I felt nothing but hatred. He was going to tell, I could feel this aching in my bones. "Thank you" I graciously reply as I open my chamber door, and am met with three guards at my door.

"The prince wishes us to escort you to him" the guards order as I sigh at the news.

"As he wishes" I comply with the princes order as the guards angrily lay their hands on me. Leading me to a dark tower. "Who said you could put such force on me?" I ask the men as they tighten their grip on me.

"We took the initiative of that on our own" the guard replies as I bite my tongue. Today I wasn't myself, I just wanted to cry. I missed my mother, I missed Beth, I missed my freedom.

As the guards eagerly throw me into the room, as I kneel at the feet of my husband. As he offers his hand to me.

"Who gave you permission to handle the future Queen like that?" He questions the guards as they snicker.

"She's no queen!" One of the guard chirps as my loneliness turns to anger.

Grabbing the fountain pen to the side of me as I aim it into the shoulder of the guard.

"YOU HAVE NO SAY IN THAT MATTER!" I declare as the guard steps back in pain.

"Leave" William order them as I turn around.

"But, sir" one of the guards interjects.

"I SAID LEAVE!" William demands them as I sigh. Holding myself up by the table near me as I hear the footsteps fading. "What's wrong?" He ask me as I chuckle at his question.

"I don't know" I confide as he hold me still.

"There's someone I would like you to meet" William whispers in my ear as I nod my head. As suddenly a figure emerges from the darkness, and tears form in my eyes. I was young, but I still remembered his face. "Orion will help you-" William goes on as I stop listening to him. Walking away from his grasp and towards the familiar man in front of me.

Holding my hand to his face, gracing his beard, "Is it really you?" I ask him as he fall silent, only answering me with a nod.

Forgetting my husband in the room I cry, letting my tears fall from my eyes as I hug my father. "I never stopped looking for you" I whisper to him in his ear as I hear him sobbing.

"I know you didn't" he reassures me, "I never stopped trying to leave, to find you" he say sincerely as I tighten my embrace on him, hoping if I held on tight enough he would never slip away again.

"Orion?!" Prince William call my fathers name as my father pulls away from me and smiles.

"She's my daughter" My father admits as I smile.

"The question is what has he been doing here?" I ask, wiping my tears away. "He's been missing for fourteen years" I demand answers as I turn to my newfound husband. "What is he doing here?" I ask him.

"He's been here since I was a child" he admits as I turn back to my father.

"The wars going to start soon!" I warn him as he just solemnly nods his head to my scared eyes. "There is nothing I can do father" I doubt myself as he takes my face into his hands. Raising my eyes to his.

"You will fight" he tells me, "and you know what you must do after that" he urges me into my destined future as I can't. Tears still falling from my eyes.

"I can't" I disagree with him. "I just got you back, I can't lose you" I plead with him as he looks to William.

"She will fight by your side, your majesty" my father surrenders as I gasp. "But mind you this, she is giving up everything to defend your people. Don't discard hers!" My father warns William as I continue to sob.

"I will defend her people" William agrees as those words bring a smile to my broken heart.

"But you know!" I turn to my father.

"Don't talk about it!" My father says, "You must train" he demands as I can't agree with his decision.

"I WILL NOT TRAIN FOR MY FATHERS DEMISE!" I yell to my father as he stand still in my refusal.

"Then two kingdoms will be lost!" He admits the truth to me as I know in my heart he's right. But must I lose everything to defend others desires and wants.

"I can't" I say as I walk out of the tower.

"Gehenna" father calls my name as I turn to him.

"I WON'T" I yell, anger coursing through my veins. Slamming the door and walking down the stairs, I need air. I needed a escape.

This couldn't be the only option. This couldn't be all I could do. I could kill her, prove everything she was afraid of was the truth, that by locking me up she already sealed her fate. But to lose him in the process, when I just got him back.

Running out of the tower into the gardens and taking a deep breath I couldn't help but let out most horrendous scream my body was holding. As I collapsed onto my knees, begging my ancestors for forgiveness, to forgive me for whatever I did to make my fate like such.

"Tell me what I can do to save him!" I cry into the garden, "I beg you, I can't lose him too" I plea as all my begging goes unanswered.

"Gehenna?" I hear as I turn to see my husband. At that moment a small part of me wanted to kill him. He was the root of the problem after all, but something held me back. "Why are you crying?" He ask me as I stand up, off my knees, staring at him.

"You are really more naive than I thought!" I insult him. "You said you read on the binding marriage, didn't you?" I ask him as he nods his head yes to my question. "I have to kill my mother" I say with tears in my eyes. Turning away from him so he does not see me cry.

"And your father will die as well" he finally adds it all up.

"Yes" I say as tears silently fall down my face. "Killing her will be the easy part, but having to live with my father blood on my hands is the hardest part" I admit to him as he sighs.

"I forgot" he says as I chuckle at his ignorance of soul.

"Binding is a curse and gift at the same time" I remind him. "And if I die you die, same if you die, I will meet my demise right by you" I explain as I feel the regret he feels.
