Chapter 28: Nowhere To Go
Brandi didn’t have a plan when she left the penthouse, she just knew she had to get out. She needed to be away from Zach to clear her head. If she was going to prove to Zach that her father wasn’t dirty, she wanted to be sure she had her arguments lined up correctly.
She couldn’t do it if she was angry.
Zach had angered her so easily and she didn’t like it.
Out on the street, she looked both ways, unsure of what to do now. She didn’t often stay in the city and now that she lived her temporarily, she’d only been from work to here and to the building sites. She had no idea where she was.
D*mn.
The doorman studied her. “Do you need a cab miss?”
She whirled to look at him. “Is there a bar nearby?” She thought better of it since she didn’t hold her alcohol well. “Nevermind. A coffee shop.”
“There’s one a block down on this side of the street,” he said.
She looked in the direction he pointed and nodded. “Thanks.”
