Alisha pov

Days passed by very slowly. My university life, which was supposed to be peaceful, has turned into a mess. This whole week went by with people glaring at me. But none of them were able to do anything other than glare at me because of my knight in shining armour named Jenny. Now, I have gotten accustomed to their stares.

Alexander didn't show up after that day. And again, a part of me is glad that he hasn't shown up, and another part wants to see him and is waiting for him. And I have no idea why my other part wants to see him. I think his attraction toward me has ended.

And oddly, this thought made my stomach twist. I shook my head to get rid of my weird thoughts. I should feel glad about it. Yeah, it's a good thing.

I'm waiting for Jenny at the cafe. It's the weekend, and it's our tradition to come to this cafe on the weekends to hang out. This cafe is not far from my house. I'm sitting beside the window. I always sat there. This cafe is small but cozy.

The waiter placed my order on the table, which was a cup of hot chocolate and a chocolate dessert. I drank my hot chocolate and looked outside the window.

People are walking by. Children with their parents, teenagers with their friends, and couples walking hand in hand. Everyone seems happy in their life.

"Hello, darling."

I took my gaze off of the window and looked up to see Jenny. She took a seat in front of me with her black coffee.

"Will you ever change the habit of being late?" I asked.

"I was just a little late, just a little," she said, pouting, and I shook my head.

"Do you know what happened?" she asked excitedly.

Another gossip. She knows about things that even reporters don't know. She should become a reporter.

"What happened?"

I took a spoonful of my chocolate dessert and put it in my mouth, and it melted right away.

"You won't believe it," she said, and I looked at her, confused. I took another bite of the dessert and waited for her to continue.

"Someone found our professors, Ms. Rose and Mr. Albert, making out in a classroom," she said, and I choked on my dessert.

Thank God I was not drinking my hot chocolate, or I would have spit it out. After clamming down, I shouted,

"What?"

Some people glared at me, and I quickly muttered an apology to them.

"Then what happened?" I asked.

"Then the person who witnessed it took some pictures of them and posted them on our form."

"OMG, show me the pictures," I said.

"I can't. It got deleted. Maybe the principal did it," she said, and I pouted in disappointment. I missed such a good show.

She took a sip of her coffee, and looked behind me. All of a sudden, her eyes widened, and she tapped my hand. I looked at her confusedly, and she gestured for me to look behind me. I followed her gaze, and, like her, my eyes widened.

Alexander Moretti, the man I thought I wouldn't see again, entered the cafe with a bouquet of red roses in his hand. And this feeling comes again; a part of me is telling me to run away from him, and another part is relief to see him.

I don't know why, but every time I see him, the first thought that comes into my mind is to run away. I'm not a coward, and it's not like he will eat me alive, or maybe he will. He slowly walked toward me, and stopped at my table. I can feel everyone's attention is on us.

"Hi, butterfly," he said in his deep voice while flashing a beautiful smile.

Can a man's smile be this beautiful? He is a walking sin. He brought the bouquet of flowers in front of me and said,

"Flowers for the butterfly,"

"Don't call me butterfly. I have a name," I said.

"I know, but it's a nickname."

"Why this nickname though?" Jenny asked.

"Because she is like a butterfly, she flies away whenever I try to approach her," he said, and smirked.

He extended the flower bouquet toward me, and I looked at it for a moment, contemplating whether I should take it or not. Well, the flower didn't do anything wrong, right? I took the bouquet, and he looked quite satisfied with it.

"If you don't mind, can I take your friend?" he asked Jenny. I looked at her and shook my head as a no. I looked back at him and said,

"I'm not going anywhere with you, and what are you planning now?"

"What am I planning? I'm planning to woo you," he said, smiling.

What did he say, and why does he keep smiling like that? His smile is dangerous. He kneeled in front of me, extended his hand, and said,

"My butterfly, will you go on a date with me?"

What the heck? He was so fierce before, but now he is so gentle. If he were as fierce as before, then I would have reasons to contempt him. My heart starts to beat first. I think my heart problem is acting up. I need to visit my doctor. As I thought, this man is dangerous for me.

"No," I blurted.

"Okay, I will wait until you want to go on a date with me," he said with a smile.

Has anyone ever told him that it's illegal to look this handsome? The sun's rays that were coming from the window made his blue eyes shine brightly. And his smile woke the butterflies in my stomach.

"You don't have to wait. You will only waste your time because, I will never date you," I said.

"We will see about it. But no matter what you say, I'm never giving up on you," he said, and winked at me.

What is he trying to do? The butterflies that just woke up are now dancing in my stomach. He is making me anticipate. No, I can't fall for his trap. I can't stay here any longer. I stood up and looked at my half-finished hot chocolate and dessert. I pouted.

My hot chocolate has now become cold chocolate. I'm sorry, my love; we need to separate because of this villain, but I promise we will meet again. I looked back at him and saw him silently observing me with amused eyes. He must have seen me looking at the food. So embarrassing.

"Do whatever you want; it won't work anyway. Jenny, let's go."

I was about to walk past him, but before I could, he grabbed my hand. I looked at him and he put my hand in front of his face. He looked straight into my eyes and kissed my palm. Electricity ran down my entire body, and my heart threatened to come out of my chest.

He kept my hand on his lips and suddenly licked my palm. I jolted and took my hand from his grip, and ran from there. What just happened? And why am I running again?

When I was far enough from the cafe, I stopped and breathed heavily. My heart was hurting a little. I closed my eyes to calm myself down and jolted when a hand grabbed my shoulder.

"Relax, girl, it's me," Jenny said, and I relaxed.

"You scared me," I said.

"I scared you? Why did you run from there like that, huh? I barely caught up to you,"

"Then what was I supposed to do? You saw what he did,"

"Yeah, it was so romantic," she said while smiling, and I rolled my eyes.

"But I must say, you really live up to the nickname he gave you," Jenny said, and I frowned.

"From the day you met him to now, you've always run away from him. Why did you do that?" she asked.

"I don't know. I feel intimidated, and my heart beats fast whenever he is around me."

"Ow, he didn't even have to try, and you are already falling for him," she said, smiling and wiggling her eyebrows.

"I'm not falling for him. I'm just scared of him. Moreover, he is not my type."

Okay, maybe he is my type, but so what?

"Okay, deny it as much as you want, but I'm sure that he is serious about you and will never give up on you," she said.

"How are you sure about that? And you are my friend; why are you siding with him?"

"Because I want only the best for you. Girl, he never kneeled in front of anyone, but he kneeled in front of you. His eyes spark whenever he looks at you."

"And if he ever hurts you, I will beat him to death," she said seriously, and I burst into laughter.

I don't think she will be able to even get close to him, but I'm happy that she is always with me.

"Please do that. But now let's go," I said, and entwined our arms, and walked by the roadside.

"Thank you for always being with me, and I love you," I said.

"Anytime, I love you too," she said.

I feel like I'm missing something. What is this? I looked at the flower bouquet in my hand. It was in my hand when I ran away. It's too pretty. I love roses.

Wait, he came to the shop for me, but how did he know I was there? I halted my steps, and Jenny gave me a confused look.

"Jenny, how did he know I was there?"

"What do you mean?"

"How did Alexander know I was there? Did he stalk me?"

"I don't think so. He is Alexander Moretti. He has his ways. You are overthinking."

Am I really overthinking? Maybe, I'm being paranoid. Forget about it. I should enjoy the weekend. With that, we again started to walk. I hope I'm really just overthinking and nothing else.

I wish my life to be peaceful. While wishing this, I forgot that not all wishes come true. And my fate will make me realize this soon.
