8 Oh no...!!

Cat was standing on a very high cliff. Her heartbeat accelerated as she looked down. She couldn't see the end of the hole that she wanted to jump in. She wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do since she saw her mother jumping into the hole. She yelped out the word 'mother' as she hoped that she would finally see her. She thought if calling her at the top of the cliff would make her hear her. She was yawning for her mother. She had never felt the love of her mother. She hoped that soon her mother would come back to her. She has never seen her in the longest time ever and each minute that passes she felt so bad for letting her mother go.

"Mother it's Catina your daughter, please come to me", she yells again hoping that her mother would hear again and come to her. But her efforts were in vain all she could hear was her echo. She sits facing down the cliff. She stared down for a couple of minutes. All she could think of was, how she would jump off the cliff to forget everything that happened in her life before. But she couldn't do it, Cat wasn't the type who would run away from her problems. She always faced her problems head-on no matter how hard they were. She didn't let fear overwhelm her.

Nothing happened her mother didn't answer her. The birds continued chirping like it was a ceremonial event happening. Her heartbeat accelerated as she held her hair tightly. She was frustrated and disappointed that her wish didn't come to pass. She yelled again as sorrow overwhelmed her. She couldn't take it anymore, it was too heavy for her to bear. Tears started flowing from her eyes as she tried to simmer down her emotions but she couldn't do it. Her heart didn't allow her to take it all in. As she was crying someone patted her shoulder, the touch was so light that she felt like it was a wind that blew on her shoulder. As she turned to have a glimpse at the person who touched her shoulder. The person who had a motherly figure disappeared as she was watching.

"Ohh no please come back to me", Catina yelled. That person who just disappeared had the answers to what she was looking for. She couldn't fathom why she always disappeared when she needed her most. in her mind, she thought maybe her mother wasn't coming back to her as she wished. Maybe it wasn't time for her to came to her family. She sighed heavily and yelped," Mother please come back to me!!!" she knelt. She couldn't control it anymore. She was paralyzed to the spot, the menacing aura was holding her in a tightened grip. The agony in her mountained up as she sobbed immensely. She couldn't simmer down what she was feeling.

"Cat... Catina... Cat", she could hear someone calling her from afar but she couldn't guess who it was.

"Cat...", he called her again. She shuffled away from him as she beat him up. She thought that it was her enemy attacking her. He called out again as he held her hands in a tight grip. His voice was clear and she realized the person who was calling her was Zack.

She opened her eyes slowly as she tried to have a glimpse of him. The corners of his lips slightly curved up as his smile enveloped his face. She rubbed her eyes opening them more in an attempt to chase away the sleep. Luckily she was now able to stare at him well.

"Am sorry for beating you", she didn't know it was him. To her when he woke her up while she was dreaming. He was the enemy and she felt guilty for acting that way towards him.

"Hey bestie it's fine you don't have to apologize. You had a nightmare...?" He raised a brow at her as his eyes were glued to her.

"Yes I dreamt ogres were chasing me", She lowered her head as she stammered. She didn't tell him the exact dream. She couldn't tell him since he had no idea about her private life. She informed Brianna and Zack before that her mother left them.

"Ooh... that's strange. Just relax it was just a dream", He informed her with a slight grin. She nodded as she sighed heavily. Her stomach started to rumble.

"Let me prepare breakfast...", She informed him waking up in her pajamas.

"It is not dawn, we should prepare a proper meal. It's noon now", He informed her. She headed towards where her clutch bag was. She opened it taking her phone. She couldn't believe that she slept for that long. It was already noon and Zack wasn't lying to her.

"Ooh let's go to the living room", She patted his shoulder.

"Yes, and you love wearing pajamas. Isn't it childish to sleep like you do", he always wanted to ask her this question but didn't get the right time to ask.

"No... it's very comfortable. What should I wear when sleeping", She raised a brow at him.

"Nothing never mind", he stated.

"Fine bestie let me first prepare that lunch. Wait... I haven't told you yet. Will be going for an interview tomorrow. I hope will get that job", She informs him of the job she applied for and got accepted. The corners of his lips curved up as he smiled widely. He was happy that she got a job soon.

"Wow congrats am so happy for you", he says with a wide grin on his face.

"Yes, you should also continue applying for one. Am certain you will get it soon", She assured him. She also wanted him to get a job so that he can also be working just like her and Brianna.

"Yes, I hope that too. Can we go have lunch somewhere else other than here in your place", Zack requested. Since he had the keys to their place. He would enter the place whenever he wanted. Brianna and Cat saw him like their elder brother.

"Yes I bet to your place...", Cat lifted a brow at him. She also loved going to his place to watch movies with him.

"No... to a restaurant or anywhere they sell good food", he stated.

"Okay fine let's go bestie. Just give me ten minutes to freshen up", she notified him then headed to the bathroom.
