Synopsis

Anna's POV . 10:05 PM. Staggering a little less than normally, I made my way home, no, to the house, and knocked on the door. Gently. Though slightly drunk, I wasn't stupid to go about banging the door. That alone will earn me punishment from my foster parents, Linda and Joseph Matthew. Not that it mattered. They always found the littlest thing to use against me. Taking in a deep breath, I waited for them to open the door. I turned the knob after hearing a 'click' and stepped into the house. For wicked and heartless people, Linda and Joseph were quite neat. Cross that, they made sure I kept the house neat. They were average classed people, living in the suburb part of the city. Affording complete and rich meals each day, with a good dose of alcohol on the side. I waited a minute or two, and when I saw no sign of them, I proceeded to run to my room. "And where do you think you're going?" the menacing voice stopped me in my tracks. Joseph. "And in such a hurry?" Linda added, a sneer evident in her tone. I turned around slowly. They were sitting on a sofa, in the dark parlour. No wonder I didn't see them. "T--to my room," I said with a slight stutter. Linda cackled, like the witch she was. "Did you hear what she just said, honey?" she asked Joseph who guffawed in response. "But mom I--" Before I knew what was happening, her palm connected to my cheeks with a loud 'WHAM!!!' sending me sprawling to the floor. I'd forgotten; they insisted I never call them mom or dad, unless the social workers were around. I screamed from the pain and saw stars in my peripheral vision. Like an explosion had gone off in my head. "I'm not your mother, you stinking daughter of a bitch!" she hissed, pulling my hair and hitting it on the ground. Joseph knelt down beside me, with one knee on my abdomen, and he grabbed my small wrists in his big hand. "Shut up, bitch," he growled and used his other hand to muffle me. I was already quiet, because I couldn't breathe. And soon all my struggles slowed down because of expending energy without breathing. When he noticed my lack of resistance, he got off me, and I immediately drew in a deep breath, clutching my hurting abdomen and stinging cheeks while blinking away the tears that were threatening to fall. I'm a strong girl. I won't cry. "We're never going to be your parents, damned girl," Linda spat, kicking me in the side, "because you're worthless to everyone. Even your real parents didn't want you! You're a curse!" "A worthless piece of trash," Joseph added as he squatted and pulled my hand to him forcefully. "And if one word about this leaks out to the social service, you're dead. Understand!?" I nodded my understanding. "Good." He kissed his wife, and then laughing, they moved to their room while doing disgusting things. When I heard their door lock, I picked myself up, lifted my backpack and headed to my mouse sized room, where I ran a hot shower to treat the bruises on my cheeks and wrists. After that, I applied a balm and crawled onto my bed. It was when I got my pillow to my face that I let out a long agony scream and allowed the tears to flow. ***

Berserker... Crank Wars!

Nearly 500 years have passed since the so-called "Apocalypse" where the souls had taken control over the human vessels and grew into fierce monsters. And the humans couldn't procreate anymore. A small frail kid saved humanity from getting wiped out of the face of the earth through his strangely powerful and unique techniques and taught them to the humans that followed him. He became a legend, and from his teachings, humans were able to tap into their "chi" to stabilize their souls by manifesting their soul essence into special weapons called "cranks". A very few thousands of last generation humans that remained or stayed alive by becaming crankers now constitutes the only humanity left on the planet. And they should continue to keep levelling up their cranks by slaying monsters and siphoning their souls to stay immortal and most of them tend to form teams to increase their odds.  Everything was wrist-slittingly boring like that until one of those teams went ahead and mistakenly awakened the legend kid from his deep, and sound slumber.  ------------ Daily 2 or 3 chapters ------------ I'm an aspiring writer. And English is not my native language. So, please suggest any upgrades or changes to my story. And don't forget to comment. Writing is a tad bit easier with enough motivation. --------- Unfortunately, the book cover doesn't belong to me. I found it on the Pinterest. And edited it a little. Credits on the art goes to the original artist.

My Boss Who Is Secretly A Vampire

[Mature Content] A humble shop owner struggling to make ends meet in the modern world, storms into a company to demand her money back for a defective vibrator when she meets the arrogant and dangerous boss, Alaric Draconis. In a twisted tale of rags to riches, love and war; something dark lies just beneath the surface, challenging Ari's world as she knows it. There are things out there that prey on humans, hidden councils that keep mortals oblivious to the bloodthirsty beasts that lurk in the shadowed streets of Seattle Washington. In a world of witches, ghosts, succubus', werewolves, and vampires, Ari is the most dangerous piece in the game: a blood doll that strengthens a vampire's ability. The ultimate weapon between warring supernaturals. —————————————————————- Ari used a single hand to dig into her bra, retrieving her cellphone. "I will not grovel like some sinner in church. Are you secretly some kinky priest?" She waved the device at the door guard. The threat was mostly empty. She couldn't really afford to be involved with the authorities and explain why she'd stormed into the building to begin with. The silence grew as she waited with baited breath. Please let this work. Please let this work. She prayed in her mind. "I don't think you understand, Ms. Ari. A man such as myself doesn't aim for success with the idea of only pleasing some of his genuine audience he appeals to. The goal is perfection, and I've had that for ten years until today. I couldn't care less if you were God," He spoke lowly, then said. "If I can't handle a woman with a mouth I shouldn't run a company." Alaric chuckled lowly beneath his breath and rested a fisted hand against his mouth where he bit on each knuckle slowly. This woman surely had an interesting thought process, especially the vocabulary of words she used in a sentence when speaking about him. "A priest?" His naturally almond shaped eyes seemed to almost narrow more than they had, smooth wrinkles scattering at the corner of each eyelid. Another glint of red light flashed onto the surface of those Grey hues from the various city lights flashing through the large floor to ceiling windows. Dark clouds loomed behind him, and when he stepped forward and crossed the room, he'd seemed like he flew down from them; some fallen angel who'd descended from grace. The speed was quick. In one blink he stood in front of her, his hand coiling around her wrist tightly. "I've been many things in my life, but priest isn't one. I've been an angel, helping those in the community stand on their feet. I've been patient, and I've been the devil to those whom I dislike. Being on my bad side isn't where someone would like to stay if they had any sense. Apparently you don't have that. Let me tell you exactly what would've happened had you called the police. They would've come right in here and ignored everything they saw. Why? Because money and fear keeps people's mouths closed." Yanking her lifted arm downward, he forced her onto her knees before him, his gaze glinting in the darkness. "And only an idiot would forget to apologize when they attempted to swindle someone out of their league. If you want a new product, fine. But you won't be getting your money back. Remove your rude comment off my site and all will be forgotten."
