Powerful men at that age ever live with just one wife. They get married to many and enjoy the pleasure that comes with it. The majority of Kings around the world have married more than one wife, and the women had to live that way. Women had never been treated the appropriate way right from the start. A woman has no say in the decisions of her husband, and should never go against his wishes especially if he happens to be in a high and respectable position.

Having many wives was like drinking water. Though deep down everyone knows no woman would like to share her husband except if the need be. And those needs were always related to when she can't satisfy him in one way or the other, and it's always hard to advise your husband to take another for any reason at all. Knowing that you now share your husband comes with anguish and hurt, and it's always hard to bare. One way or the other, the pain would consume you.
