ALPHA CARSON

I walked out of Maeve's room and smirked to myself as I made my way to the cinema room within my estate. The stupid girl was beginning to trust me. All I needed to do was hold Maddox at my borders and not let him get through until I can convince her to let me mark her.

The whole story I'd spun about him slaughtering her entire pack would have left her feeling alone and vulnerable which is right where I wanted her. It meant she was more likely to fall for my act quicker as it was hard to keep up with the façade for too long. Her whiny voice was already beginning to irritate me.

I may have only killed her parents not the entire pack but if she knew that she'd probably be more forceful in her efforts to go home knowing there were friendly faces back home.

I sat down in the cuddle chair and mind linked my beta whilst I waited for her to arrive. 'How's everything going at the border? I trust Alpha Maddox is still holding out on getting his precious mate back?' I knew I had a good few days before any serious action would happen thanks to the 20-foot wall I had built around the territory itself.

'He's becoming more desperate Alpha, he's like a man possessed and his wolves are fighting with a fierce passion. I've heard him at the front lines with them every day and there are no signs of him giving in.'

I rolled my eyes knowing that idiot was probably willing to die for his precious mate. At least if he did, I'd finally be the biggest pack. 'Just keep shooting at the from the wall for now. Let's try and weaken them as much as we can before they get through the wall.'

'Yes Alpha.' A short sharp response from my Beta is what I liked about him, it took some time and conditioning but after a few broken bones he eventually learnt I didn't want his small talk bullshit. I paced back to her room and knocked on the door. "Maeva, sweetheart, are you ok in there?" I could hear the shower running, it infuriated me that she felt she could take this long. "Sorry Theo I'm just having a quick shower" I heard her muffled shouts over the shower.

"I really need one after the few days I've had. Would you mind if I come through in around 30 minutes once I've dried my hair?" I rolled my eyes feeling impatient. "No problem darling, take as long as you need." An idea crossed my mind of how to fill the time and I quickly moved from the door.

She scurried back to her kneel position and nodded her head. "I said is that clear?!" She was shaking like a leaf as she meekly replied, "Yes Alpha."
