　　"Don't you think it's quiet here? It's far away from the city. Whenever I am in a bad mood, I will come and sit for a while and look at the view by the lake," Annette said. She pointed at the sky. "Look," she said.

　　Connor looked up. The night sky was beautiful.

　　"As long as I sit here and look at the beautiful night sky, I feel that it is good to be alive and that the future will be good. Don't you think?"

　　"Not really." He raised his eyebrows.

　　She shrugged. "You think differently from poor people like me. No wonder I'm poor."

　　He let out a laugh, which was quite rare.

　　She looked at him in surprise. "Alpha Connor, I didn't know you also laugh."

　　He asked, "Is there anyone in this world who can't laugh?"

　　"But I've never seen you laugh like this before."

　　"Do you know me well?"

　　Annette shrugged. She found the subject a bit self-deprecating.
