Chapter 6.

Nicholas's POV

Standing at the altar waiting for your soon-to-be wife is somewhat nerve-wracking. I think most men are worried about their girls but I'm more worried about if we will make it out alive.

With the news of our marriages, we are expected to act in love in public. I attended Seraphina's to her sister's weddings. After our wedding and the party thing then we will head out on my plane to Italy.

The more public attention we get the bigger the threat it is to all of us. Without being married to her if anything happens to her or her family then I won't 'legally' help out. I say legally because like all things in the world, the mafia has a council. The council mainly is there to make sure rules are being followed and alliances are being formed.

With mine and Atticus's alliance relying on marriage, I can't help out. For the last week, I've been trying to get everything ready for Seraphina. Having my house cleaned, our room set up, everything.

Due to our laws when engaged, you can not live together until marriage. Most couples in our lives get married quickly to live back with their spouse. Some rules we have made no sense like that but whatever.

Standing up here alone except for the priest I wait for Seraphina to walk down the aisle. I hope she likes everything. I choose to do dark blue and red colors since they looked amazing against her eyes.

I look around the room to see the three sisters now sitting down in the front row with their now husbands. Atticus has now gone from my sight. I lock eyes with the oldest sister Lydia and she nods telling me it's about to start.

I stand up straighter and look over to the door waiting for the music to start. I hear the music start but zone it out as she walks through the door with her dad holding her arm.

Her dress hugs her waist perfectly. Her hair fell down her back with a small part on her shoulder. Her dress moved with her and her heels were muffled but the small carpet thing I bought. She gets closer and I can see the makeup on her eyes. Her light pink lip paired with a light brown eye look. She looks breathtaking.

She reaches me and I step down the small staircase to grab her hand and help her up. She hands her bouquet to her dad as he whispers in her ear. He gives me her hand and sits down still holding her flowers.

I help her up the stairs and grab her other hand to hold during the ceremony. Her hands are soft and dainty in my scared and inked hands. Her hands are cold so I rub my thumb over her knuckles to try to warm them up. She relaxes in my hold and looks toward the priest.

"Do you Nicholas Burns take Seraphina King to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The priest asks me. Levi stands up and hands us each of the rings I picked out for us.

"I do." I slide thr a -cut diamond with a golden branch as the band onto her left ring finger.

"Do you Seraphina King take Nicholas Burns to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

"I do." She slides the gold ring with a slight engravement of the same branches of her ring onto my finger.

"Then I pronounce you too as Mr. and Mrs. King. You may now kiss the bride." I barely let the man finish speaking before I pull her into me pressing my lips to hers. Her warm lips move unsurely against me as I hold her face in my hands. When I've had my fill I let go and step back noticing the blush on her cheeks.

I brush my thumb across her cheek and grab her hand walking her down the aisle. We leave first and make our way outside to take pictures. She must have grabbed her bouquet from her dad as we walked by since she has it now.

I hired a photographer to make everything seem real. They take photos of us alone and then tonight Seraphina will have photos taken with her family.

We take hundreds of photos and then head inside. I lean down before we go inside the reception area.

"Do you want to change your shoes?" I whisper in her ear as she shakes her head.

I grab her hand and lead her inside.

We spend the night partying. I watch as Seraphina dances with her family and a few friends. We eat dinner and go on with the night. When it comes time for the cake I pull Seraphina in front of me and hold my hand over hers.

We both bring down the knife to cut the cake, we cut out a piece for ourselves and put it on a plate. She grabs a fork and gives me a bite. I do the same, I notice l speck of frosting on the corner of her lips and wipe it off sucking on my thumb. I again make her blush.

We finish handing out the cake before we head to the dance floor for our first dance. I pull her into me and wrap my hands around her waist interlocking my fingers behind her back. She wraps her hands around my neck and looks up at me.

I continue to rock us to the music and we look at each other before whispering to her.

"I don't know about you but I'm tired of talking to people." She giggles a little before nodding ever so slightly.

"How about after our dance we can get on the plane and head to Italy? "

"That sounds good. Let me just say bye to my family."

"Of course."

With our dance over with she heads over to her family. I can see them hugging until she comes over to me. I watch as her sisters also leave with their new husbands all heading back to our home countries.

I help her into the car as the driver takes us to my private airstrip. I once again help her up their own stairs and give her one of my shirts to sleep in and show her the bedroom. I leave her alone calling my men to make sure everything is ready for her.
