Sometime earlier...

Fire rained from the sky - that was the doing of the sorcerers. A heap of the dead bodies of soldiers had formed on the side as the few ones remaining, fought themselves to the death. Seraphina had compelled them to do so, and they were doing so obediently.

It was a blood bath. She gritted her teeth as she struggled to keep her defenses up high. She was still weak and therefore was finding it hard to fight the sorcerers. They were strong, she'd give that to them, but if she had fully recovered her strength, they would have been dead with just a snap of her fingers.
