The last time I had seen my father was the day he kicked me out of the house. I was sobbing and begging him to let me back in but he slammed the door in my face and never opened it again. I waited there for half an hour as I heard him and Ma argue, hoping that once he calmed down he would eventually let me in and apologise. 

He never did. 

When darkness fell I climbed into my truck and went to Scotty. I switched between Scotty, Randall and Mitch's house until a week later Ma called me and told me we were moving to Bloom. She continued her divorce in Bloom and would travel back and forth between Stephenville alone so I would not have to see him.
