Fear surged through me as I went outside dressed in my gear as I decided to go on the search for Arianne the love of my life. I hadn't even noticed that she was missing because I was busy avoiding her and I probably still wouldn't have noticed if Ravenna hadn't said anything about it. I couldn't help but think this was all my fault.

The kingdom believed she had betrayed us. When I had come back alone without my mate, they thought she had forsaken them, they didn't know the sacrifice she had to make just so we could all be alive and that was a mistake on my part. I should have corrected them and most importantly, I should have warned Azar about flaunting his relationship with Arianne in the kingdom or even told him to take guards along, how could he have decided to leave just her alone?
