Chapter 1268 Whether to Believe or Not

Claude's face went pale all at once as he explained with his head shaking repeatedly, "How can they be true?"

Claude's knee-jerk reaction was to shake his head even when he was alone on the phone.

"Really? Dad, am I supposed to believe you or not?" Angela sounded terrified, like a startled vigilant fawn.

Although Claude felt sorry for his daughter, it was not the time for him to tell the truth. He added immediately, "Angela. Of course you should believe me. I am your biological father. Why would lie to you?"

Angela looked undetermined. After a moment of hesitation, she spoke up,

"Mrs. Philips told me that they were all real."

Claude looked more flustered, but his voice remained calm. After hearing what Angela said, he fumed, "Nonsense!"

Angela took in a breath and did not air objections.

Claude wanted to explain himself. But a second thought had he asked, "What happened? What did she say about it?"
