CAUGHT!
With a dense pain in her heart, Lexie sat in the back of the driving car.
She was finally away from that house, that prison, that cage, she was finally free, but why instead of being happy, she felt sad?
Why instead of felicity, there was a heavy weight of lugubriousness resting atop of her heart?
Why?
Was it because she broke two of her promises in just one day?
The first- to change him before she ever thought of leaving and the second, to stay with him...forever.
Or perhaps it was because she was leaving without a part of her intact.
Her heart...
The organ still only beats for him, the damn thing still cared for him even after all he did to her...why?
Lexie couldn't understand, she wanted to hate him, she wanted to hate him so bad, but she just couldn't and that made the pain of his betrayal all the more heartbreaking.
