The Drawing

▪Holly pov▪

As my mother arrived in the grounds, I quickly got up and ran to greet her.

"Mother! look what I drew!" I said, as I showed her the drawing in my hands.

She looked at me for a few seconds, not sparing a glance at my drawing, and then started scolding me,"Holly Anderson, what have you done to your dress, and your hair! - didn't the maids braid it for you? - Oh, why couldn't I have had a son, now I'm being told that I'm not even worthy of a well-behaved daughter?! why can't you atleast act like the crown prince?!" she said, as she glared at me. This is how much I dislike that boy, that prince, I get compared to him every day. "Head back home, Now, Holly!"

*sigh* I looked at my feet and spoke quietly "yes, mother." And I started walking back to the carriage that had brought me here.

When I got back, the maids gave me a shower, dressed me and escorted me to the library. After they left, at a quick pace, I sneakily went to my father's study.

Knocking on the door lightly, I waited till I heard the gentle voice of the man on the other side of the door before entering.

"Yes, sugar plum?" he asked, looking at me from over the file that he was holding.

I took out the drawing that I had tucked into the pocket of my shirt and showed it to him.

Upon seeing the drawing he put the file down and beckoned me closer. I walked up to his desk and he opened one of the drawers, taking out from it a folder, in which we have been putting drawings and paintings.

"look what a beautiful blossom tree you have drawn! My, my, Holly! I have never seen anything so beautiful in all my life!" he exclaimed joyfully, which made me feel happier. He put it in the folder and then asked"Is this perhaps the blossom tree in the royal garden?"

"It is!" I answered, smiling at him and nodded.

"Did you ask the prince if you could draw this before doing so?" He asked, giving me a mischievous grin.

"No..." I said, looking at my feet. "But I will next time!"

"Good girl, now daddy's going to put this back inside the drawer now," He said, as he opened the drawer and put the folder inside, he then turned to me, Getting on his knees, he asked,"And this is going to be..."

"A secret between daddy and me!" I said.

He then kissed my forehead and said, " Off you go now, go play my dear, and dont let your mothers words get to you, you my angel are the greatest artist I have ever seen in my entire life."

I walked out and sneakily headed back to my room. After entering through the door, I went to a cage in the corner and opened it to let my little black kitten out.

I went to a shelf and took out a box of colors and some White pages and put them on my bed. I scooped up my litle kitten from the floor and sat down on the bed scratching her head.

Putting her on top of a cushion, I picked up the sheet and started drawing, trying to remember what the lilies in the royal garden looked like so I could draw them.

A few hours later I put my things away as I had to attend a teaparty with my mother tomorrow.

I changed into my nightgown and layed down on the bed to sleep.
