Princess?

▪Holly pov▪

Reaching the castle, I followed in my mother's stead as we were lead by a servant to where the Queen was waiting for us.

When we reached, the servant departed with us and went to do his tasks. My mother and I bowed our heads to the Queen.

"There is no need to bow to me when you are my dearest friend, Helena. And, my my! Is this really Holly? Look at how much youve grown since I last saw you!" The Queen exclaimed in her sweet and bright voice.

At that moment, the crown prince walked over. He first looked at my mother and then behind her at me. He had looked quite irritated when he'd walked over, but I could tell that the moment his orange eyes set on me he had become overjoyed.

"Logan-" his mother had started speaking when he ran over to my side and spoke over her.

"Come, Miss Holly, I'll lead you over to the children's area!" he said, his voice laced with enthusiasm and happiness. Taking my hold of my hand, I followed as he pulled me forwards.

A little way there, he asked- "How are you, Miss Holly?"

"I'm fine, your highness." I answered quietly, looking down at the ground as I walked. I didn't want to look at him, he was the person I disliked most in the world. I would always get compared with him because of hiw 'Perfect' he was.

"Please don't call me by my position, it feels odd, you are allowed to call me by my name." He said, and I knew he had a big smile on his face.

Was this his way of getting me in trouble? Everyone in the kingdom, even the most noble families had to call the prince by his position, 'highness'. Only the prince's parents were allowed to call him by his name. This rule was setup by the prince himself four years ago.

"Understood, Prince Logan." I said, still facing the ground. This annoying boy. I knew he had a big grin on his face without having to look.

As we walked further, the splendid white walls of the children's area came into view. It was decorated with yellow roses. It looked so pretty that I couldn't help but stare at them in awe.

"I-it's pretty, isn't it?" The prince asked from my right.

"Hmmm" I hummed ih response. And then I remembered that the prince had been holding my hand all the way here. I briskly pulled my band out of his tight grasp, and it was quite hard to do as he was holding my hand very firmly.

Entering the children's area, I saw that only the daughter of the highest duke was present besides me and the crown prince. [phew!] I thought in relief.

"Good morning, Miss Holly." She said standing up from her seat.

"Good morning, Miss Grace." I said, giving her a small curtsey.

"This way, Miss Holly." The prince said leading me over to a chair and pulling it back for me.

I sat down as he pushed the chair in for me. "Thankyou, Prince Logan." I said looking down.

"Miss Holly, you do know we aren't allowed to call his highness by his name, right?" Grace said giving me a sickly sweet smile.

"Of course I do, Miss Grace." I said nodding my head slightly. "I apologize, your highness, I didn't mean any disrespect." I said bowing my head lower.

"Oh, It's okay, Miss Grace, I'd asked Miss Holly to call me by my name." He answered, and I could sense the anger and loathing in his voice. Then turninv to me he spoke, his voice laced with happiness. "Would you like some green tea, Miss Holly?" Picking up a green teapot and pouring some green tea into a small teacup.

"Thankyou, your highness, but I prefer Black tea." I said putting down the cup he'd handed to me.

"I'll go pour you some right away!" He said, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. He ran over to the bigger table and started pouring some black tea into a small cup.

All the while I could feel the persistent glare that Grace was throwing at me with.

Logan came back the next minute with a cup of black tea on a small saucer and a dish of chocolate pastries in hand.

"Here you are, Miss Holly, and have some pastries, I know you like them a lot. " He said putting the cup and dish of pastries down infront of me.

"Thankyou, your highness." I said bowing my head.

"I thought I asked you to...." He started softly.

"Sorry, Prince Logan." I said before he could start whining.

"Thankyou, my princess." He mumbled very quietly, but I was still able to hear him.

[Princess? What does he mean by that?] I thought, as I subconsciously sipped on my tea.
