Undead species- Vampire

"...What am I, really?" Sighing, Barney looked through the window, his blue eyes glowing as he watched the dark skyline of New York City.

Turning around, he found that Buffy was looking at him with expectation, but he had come to realize he never truly thought about it. He just took what he knew about vampires and ran with it.

Like you can't go to someone's house uninvited, so he just took girls to his own apartment as this would make things less weird. Or he stopped eating garlic on his pizza, as he remembered that in some Dracula movie, they said it was fatal. Crosses weren't a problem, as he never went to church, and the sunlight thing was resolved with the daylight ring that just rid him of this problem.

But except for that, he knew nothing, and questions just started flooding into his brain. Are there many of them? He had only 'met' the girl who bit him and her friends in that 'Club Wrath and Goth', and he wasn't sure how many of them were there in that group. Are all vampires equal in strength? Does every vampire have a system like his? How did he become a vampire? etc...

He was slightly panicking as he just stared into the air. He wasn't usually like that; he would usually think of every little thing, taking even the smallest details into account before coming up with the perfect plan to proceed. But instead, he just spent the last few weeks walking around, thinking he was invincible or something.

Just as he was thinking deeply, the system 'ting' was heard,

{System Advice: It's random; you will figure it out yourself... Eventually.

Subject - Undead species- Vampire:

Vampires are an undead species created by a witch, at the end of the first millennium of the Christian calendar based on the demonic species- Blood Devourer.

The creator, aiming to gain immortality while maintaining her original look, used the most common of humanoid immortal species to create a series of rituals and spells that would aim to make a human into an immortal, of similar characteristics.

The results were great; the vampire species created by her were tens of times stronger, countless times faster than the Blood Devourers and were capable of natural hypnotizing. What she didn't count on was that it came with disadvantages as well.

While lesser in the original vampires, they were still dependent on blood to survive, weren't able to walk in the daylight, and were vulnerable to vervain. Though other weaknesses, like garlic, crosses, holy water, and the vampiric visage, didn't appear in the vampires.

Vampires are generally created through a process called Siring. In it, a vampire and a human exchange blood before the human has to die in the next 24 hours. If the human died during said time, they would rise again and need to drink blood of a quality higher than E+(included) in the following 24 hours.

If a newly vampirized only succeeded in consuming E rank blood or lower as their first drink, then the result would be a Lesser Vampire.

Lesser Vampires have similar powers as normal vampires, though a bit weaker and with lower bloodlust. But they have a few more weaknesses.

Lesser vampires, aren't very common in the present, but they were very common during the the 13th-16th centuries as plagues were in an all time high causing deterioration in blood quality. They are the origin of the 'myths' about vampires.

They don't have a reflection, are sensitive to several plants with garlic being the most common amongst them, and they are affected by the symbols of the stronger immortals such as crosses, holy water and churches of the christianity.

(It is unknown to vampires, but the stronger the blood one takes on their first time, the stronger the vampire's potential will be in the future. But also the more picky they will become; drinking a lower quality wine will become unbearable.

Like a man who all his life ate the best and finest of food. Was given a slightly overcooked and under-seasoned meal with a slightly bad smell. It was the normal food people ate every day, only for him, while it might be edible, but it definitely wasn't any good.

And the larger the difference in rank, the larger the difference in taste. The vampire species is currently the most common undead species in the world, making their domain of all the big cities in Europe, North America, and North East Asia, while avoiding the warmer Africa, South America, Australia, and most of Asia.

Strengths: Super Strength(S-), Super Speed(SS), Super Regeneration(S+), Super Senses(S), Endless Stamina(All Undead)(SS-), Hypnosis (B+), Immortal Youth(L), Sire(A), Stronger by Age(S)

Those are just general talents; specific ratings are dependent on specific vampires, with those created through Siring being lesser to those created by a witch using the original spell.

Weaknesses of a vampire created via siring: Wood to the heart, sunlight, Vervain, Need for blood nutrition (could be any blood, though the higher the quality, the stronger the vampire will get and the opposite), lack of blood over prolonged periods will weaken a vampire to a level of a statue-like state in which they can't move at all. Can't enter owned homes uninvited, Fire, and Decapitation.

Vampires created by the spell are called the originals; they have similar weaknesses with none of them being fatal. In their case, it requires a specific type or wood to the heart to kill them. Rare vampires have other unique supernatural abilities, but they are extremely rare.

The Host, although created through Siring, was given a similar status to an original by the effects of the system. Meaning you, similarly to the original vampires, are only especially vulnerable to a specific type of wood, the White Oak wood (not a specific tree though) and, just like most other non-divine level beings, are vulnerable to different types of magic.

Host's First Blood: S-, High-level Mortal-Magical, Katherine Beckett Host's Unique Vampiric Abilities: Melanin Control (active skill), Intended Pain & Pleasure (passive- result of the master of Seduction talent), Vampirization (System Granted modification).

(Hint- a healthy human in his/her prime (16-24) and very good genetics is Top-level Mortal-non-Magical Being only a B rank for the best amongst them. Most unique people have at least a bit of the magical in them, though mostly unknown to them.)}

Meanwhile, Buffy continued to watch Barney for a few seconds, sensing a shift in his demeanor, as he just stopped and stared at the ceiling. She tried to regain his attention, waving her hands at his face and calling him loudly, but nothing she did worked. She was starting to think if she should just slap him, but eventually, she just decided to call her keeper, Giles, to hear what he had to say about Barney's words.

Just as Giles finished the call as he went to check his books, three knocks were heard on the door. Seeing that Barney had yet to wake up from his stupor, Buffy went to the door, deciding to open it.

"Who are you?" A young woman, with shoulder-length brown hair stood at the door, her face slightly frowned. "Where is Barney?"

"Over th..." Buffy turned to point at the frozen Barney, only to notice he wasn't there. " I could swear he was-"

But she never finished the sentence as when she turned, she found that Barney was already behind her, nibbling on the woman's throat. Her hand went to where her long-missing stake was placed earlier, but other than that, she remained frozen. She didn't notice anything as he moved, not even the slightest sound.

Her eyes widened at the realization; he was far stronger than any vampire...Blood Devourer she had ever encountered. If he actually tried, he could have probably long killed her by now. She looked at him with apprehension, feeling slightly sorry for the fate of the girl in front of her.

As Buffy finally came to terms with the new situation, she decided to help the girl still, only as she was about to grab Barney's shoulder and pull him off her, a loud moan escaped the woman's mouth, not one of pain, but one of pleasure, causing Buffy to stop once more.

'What the hell?! Why does she seem like she is enjoying this?' Buffy remembered very well how painful a vampire...Blood Devourer's bite was; she was bitten more than once, creating the two scars across her right carotid artery, and the experience was by no means pleasant, only the woman seemed to enjoy Barney's bite, as she put her hand on his neck, drawing him closer.

Barney, who had just finished reading the information provided by the system, was having an inside turmoil. He learned there were many vampires, and while he might seem virtually unkillable, compared to older vampires he should far pale in terms of strength alone, not to mention all of his fighting experience was in Laser Tag and playing around with his katana.

He wasn't sure how to feel; on one hand, he was far stronger than before and would remain young forever. Who said there was no god (author (: )? This, and sex, were all he ever truly wanted, well, that and for his friend to be happy.

But on the other hand, he had just learned, or at least come to terms with the fact that blood-sucking monsters who were also immortal and mostly stronger than him, were everywhere around the world. Not to mention witches, who could probably build an army of those things.

He wasn't really afraid of them, as he realized the system was quite a big help when it came to preserving his life, making him love it even more. But he was in a turmoil of emotions regarding how he lived his life so far; just one unlucky move and he could have ended up as someone's dinner.

"I..." Lowering his eyes back to where Buffy stood a few moments ago, he was about to answer her question when he noticed she no longer stood there. Hearing his name was called behind him, Barney turned to the door, only to see Kate looking at Buffy.

With his hunger at its peak, his emotions in a raging storm, and his brain slightly affected by the truth potion, Barney didn't even think twice as he acted on pure instinct, pouncing forward at full speed towards Kate before lowering his head and biting her neck.

Feeling the divine tasting liquid that flowed down his throat, his worries from earlier just seemed to disappear as he focused absolutely on the overwhelming taste that filled his mouth. He finally about to let go after around ten seconds, only Kate, suddenly grabbed his head, not letting him move away.

Smiling, he continued drinking slowly for a few more seconds, relishing the heavenly taste, only to be interrupted by Buffy, who looked at them with shock. "Does it really feel good?"

Pulling himself away from Kate, he only gave the girl a short look before pooling his shoulders.

"I don't know. It was painful for me too, but she seems to like it." He pointed toward Kate, whose already flushed face turned even redder.

"Who are you?" Kate looked at the short blonde girl in confusion, trying her best to change the topic.

"She is Buffy, a demon slayer. I was gonna try her blood, but she poisoned me with a truth potion." Barney, who was still acting on his instincts, which were still affected by the truth potion, answered mindlessly, before turning back to Kate, going for her neck again. Only this time, a hand was placed on his face, stopping him slightly.

"Demon slayer? There are demons now too?" Kate, who stopped Barney's movements, gave Buffy a conflicted glance.

"Yeah..." Buffy answered rubbing the back of her head and laughing awkwardly; her face was still slightly red, caused by their earlier actions.

"She will be leaving now. I will explain everything later," Barney suddenly said, his eyes brimming with lust. He indicated with his head to the door, not taking his eyes off Kate. Just as she was about to refute his words, he pushed himself forward, taking Kate with him, pressing her back against the nearby wall. He kissed her passionately, caressing her cheek with one hand, while his other hand firmly gripped her ass.

"Yeah, I will go now..." Seeing the shameless actions of the two, Buffy just passed by them, heading through the still-open door and closing it behind her. The whole situation was weird to her, from their actions to how Kate simply ignored her existence, not minding that Barney had another girl with him, even though the two were clearly in a relationship.

Entering the elevator, she closed her eyes, her hands shaking slightly. The moment she saw Barney move had a strong effect on her. The thought that he was so much faster than her... She had a feeling this was just a glimpse of his abilities.

At the very least, if the vampires were similar to the ones she knew in any way, then for all she knew, he could be hundreds of years old. And she was pretty sure the katana that stood there was no simple decoration. With his speed alone, he could have probably killed her easily in seconds, not to mention if he was a skilled sword master as well.

Inside, she swore to avoid him forever. If he wasn't one to kill people, then he wasn't any of her business. Nodding to herself, she left the elevator and passed the lobby.

Wandering into the dark streets of New York, only than, another thing started to bother her...

'I never told him my name... How did he know my name?'
