33 Chapter 33 Perfect.

The door opened and I took a step in with Cami by my side but I didn't look up because I was not yet ready to see the reaction everyone wore, I was not ready to see their piercing gaze.

I remembered when I looked at myself back then when the cosmeticians just finished my make-up, I looked so savoury and I found me admiring myself.

And the gown, no words could fit in to describe it, it looked far too splendid to be described.

It was like a floating dry dock, it was heavy but I didn't feel the load that followed because of the happiness that washed me and it also had pearls sprinkled around it suiting the amazing white colour and flaunting its worth.

Cami's gown was also no less, it was also top-notch, and the only difference between our dresses was the colour.

"So now who are you going to dance with?" Cami whispered in my ear frolicsome and my throat ran dry but before I could ponder on it Gabriel's voice nudged in, which terrified my ghost out of my body.

"You look stunning," I heard him say but I didn't still raise my head, I kept it fixated on the ground until I heard the word "Would you love to dance with me?" come out from his mouth.

I didn't know why I didn't feel that good when I heard that word, I felt like saying NO! I mean I would have said no if it was someone else because I didn't feel like dancing but this was Gabriel, my friend, my very good friend and I didn't want to sound rude to him.

"Of course," I said finally raising my head and I placed my palm on his.

He then pulled me gently to the dance floor and ensured that we were now in a dancing position before he started moving. We twisted, turned and moved to different spots and I was enjoying it a lot, I didn't even realise that I was wearing a smile on my face. The feeling was just so good.

My gaze circled as I looked at the crowd who was watching us so intently, it was then I realised that we were the only ones in the ballroom and that we were dancing assiduously to the extent that even the people eating and talking left what they were doing to focus on us but I didn't want to spoil the dance I was enjoying, so I proceeded.

When the music finally ended, we smiled at each other before we turned and the cheers of the crowd began. I looked around pleased that my little knowledge of dancing didn't flop but I also knew that that was all thanks to Gabriel who was guiding me throughout.

When my gaze caught up with Julian's who was afar, I saw the pained expression he wore and It made the happiness that was written over me dwindle but before I could even make a move, he walked away.

I slowly loosened my grip on Gabriel's hand as I was about to speak but he spoke first.

"Thanks, I enjoyed dancing with you," He said as he bowed slightly.

"I also enjoyed dancing with you too, I mean you are perfect at it and sorry for staining your shoe," I rep looking down utterly embarrassed but he just smiled as he gazed down at them.

"That's no problem, I guess I was too fast."

"Kind of, you are good at dancing," I smiled.

"I love dancing that's why I am good at it and you are also not that bad," He said and I nodded still smiling.

"Thanks once again, I would have loved to stay all day dancing and dancing with you over and over again but I need to go,"

"You are welcome," He returned my smile and without wasting any time, I hastily left there to trace Julian because his look worried me.

I went out of the ballroom and thankfully I saw Zia who was giving flowers to some of her friends.

"Zia," I called her and when she turned a smile on her face followed.

"Aww, our sweet sweet beautiful Queen is here,"

"I was just admiring you throughout your dance and I also got pleased with your dance steps." Her smile widened as she spoke.

"Thank you, but to me, you are prettier," I said as I drooled at her beautiful green ball gown.

"I feel honoured," She covered her face with her right hand like a girlfriend who was too shy to show her face to her boyfriend and I found her funny and cute doing that.

"Zia, did you see Julian around?" I asked her retaining my friendly tone but she blinked numerous times before she finally responded.

"You are looking for Julian? For what reason, if I may ask?" She asked still giving me that indefinite look.

"Well, I just want to confirm something," I smiled widely as I told her ignoring the look on her face.

"Ooh, what a relief! I thought that you are one of those girls who are drooling for him. I am relieved that you are not one of them since he would just flirt with you and he would never reciprocate your feelings," She smiled.

"Ooh no, we are just friends,"

"Friends?"

"Yeah, he has helped me numerous times, he was even the one that brought me here. He is nic,e" I told her

"You guys are friends!" Her smile widened as she nearly screamed and I nodded.

"Hmmm, so where is he? I asked.

"He went up," She said but when I was about to turn to leave she called me.

"This rose is a sign of love and appreciation, give it to who deserves it," She said givang me a pretty red rose.

"Thanks," I smiled and when she smiled back, I left as I headed up.

I climbed the stairs for what seemed like hours and my leg felt like bursting.

After a while I finally saw a door, I opened it and entered in and what welcomed me was a warm breeze which played with the little strands of hair that I left down. I took more steps and I saw Julian sitting on a chair beside the edge of the place.

'Wait! We are on the top floor!' I realised.

I took a few more steps and I was finally very close to him.

"Julian," I called his name in the warmest way I could think of and when he turned what I saw surprised me.

Did he cry?!
