PLANNING

"Care to tell us about it?" Saeko asked again and Kohta nodded. He was surprisingly getting closer to Shiro every time.

Shiro shook his head, refusing to tell them a thing. "I don't even understand it and I'm sure none of you would."

Saya stared at him for a moment before looking away, moving her eyes across the room.

"I see." Shizuka nodded her head. "Well then, we'll be leaving now. Kohta and Takashi have something to discuss with you, so we should give you three some privacy. The girls have something to talk about too."

Shiro just nodded. "That's fine by me."

The girls all walked out of the room, leaving Shiro, Takashi and Kohta.

"Gimme a minute." Shiro stood and walked to the bathroom to take a pee.

"Sure." Takashi and Kohta agreed.

Moments later, Shiro walked back out.

"What are we talking about?" Shiro walked back to his special couch. He picked up his backpack and opened it. He took out different snacks and drinks, placed them on the floor, and sat close to them.

"Y'all better join in. I can't eat all these alone now, can I?" Shiro called out to the other two.

"We just had breakfast." Takashi declined.

"Is it really okay to bring all these out?" Kohta was already on the floor with Shiro.

"Go ahead and eat, it's fine. Takashi, at least join us for a drink if you're not going to eat anything." Shiro insisted.

Takashi sighed and walked towards them, joining them on the floor. "Fine."

Munch. Munch. Munch…

Eating sounds were all around the place. "So what's today's topic?" Shiro asked with a biscuit in his mouth.

Takashi took a sip from the can of cola in his hand and answered Shiro's question. "I'm sure Kohta told you this but we'll be leaving any time soon."

"Yeah, he did. That's one of the reasons I went out early this morning." Shiro replied.

"You went out again? Now I know why you were asleep and missed breakfast." Takashi concluded.

"I had to check the area. I didn't want any problems when it was time to leave." Shiro placed another biscuit in his mouth.

"Ah, I see. Someone's watching out for us all. Thank you for that." Takashi smiled.

"Don't bother about it. You all accepted me into the team. It's the least I can do." Shiro shook his head.

"So, we needed a tactic for leaving. We can't just leave at once. They'll end up cornering us if we do that." Takashi explained.

"They won't. We've made sure of that. Last night, we killed at least a hundred of them and I did about thirty this morning. I don't know how many in total are around the estate but we've reduced that number by one hundred and thirty." Shiro uttered.

"If we're cornered, We have Kohta as a long ranger. Me, you, Saeko, and Hina can open a path with relative ease, can't we?" Shiro asked.

"That's true. The next problem is. Where are we headed to? I know a few places we could go to but they're all far away. Probably a two-day non-stop journey. There's a small base for the military two days south from here. A military hospital in the same direction but it's a three days journey from here. Camp Sapporo in Hokkaido. Or we could head to Tokyo. Honestly, that's the safest option." Takashi made a short explanation.

"Actually, Tokyo should be the most dangerous since it's the capital and it's far away right now. It's filled with people so do the maths of how many undead we will meet if we go there." Shiro replied to Takashi's plans.

Shiro continued speaking. "We should avoid the major cities since they'll be filled with undead. I could survive staying there but I'm not so sure about the others."

Takashi raised an eyebrow at Shiro's last words. "What do you mean by that?" Kohta asked.

"Let's just say my survival scale is higher. I think I have a knack for surviving." Shiro replied.

"Anyway, all big cities are bad ideas. The military bases should be better."

At the mention of bases, Takashi tapped his forehead. "Ah, there's one more base. It's a military base but it's more like a safe zone for emergency situations."

"How come you know so much about bases?" Shiro and Kohta asked together.

Takashi smiled and answered them both. "Whenever I had the chance, I went on trips with my dad. He was in the army till three years ago. He got killed in battle."

"So sorry about that. We shouldn't have asked." Kohta apologized.

"It's fine." Takashi shrugged.

"When do we plan to leave? You wouldn't bring this up if we had days left. Probably today or tomorrow?" Shiro asked Takashi.

Takashi opened another can of cola and gulped down part of its contents. "Should be tomorrow or the day after. Saya's father should be home tomorrow and we'll have to notify him of our departure before leaving."

"And what if he refuses to let us go or better still, he lets us leave but keeps Saya behind?" Shiro asked.

"If he doesn't allow us, we escape. If he holds back Saya against her own will, we steal her. There's nothing much to think about here." Takashi answered and Kohta nodded, still chewing biscuits.

Shiro smiled. "Pretty simple solutions for messed up situations. I like it."

"Where's the safe zone located?"

Takashi wasn't willing to eat the biscuits and other snacks but after the aroma of different biscuits and snacks had attacked his nose, he gave in and opened one of the biscuits. "South of here. It's farther than the others though."

"I guess we'll have to rest in the military base first and then advance to the hospital next. We'll end up in the safe zone one way or another." Shiro decided.

"That's what I also thought." Takashi chuckled.

"More guns." Kohta exclaimed, spraying the biscuits in his mouth everywhere.

Ding!

A new notification came in after a long time. It wasn't long but it was to Shiro.

{Safely Bring The Team To The Secret Military Safe Zone In The South. (Primary Mission)

Shiro read the description and closed the panel.

Ding!

Another notification popped up.

{You Can Now Pick A Class.

"Shiro!?" Takashi's call snapped Shiro out of his focus on the panel.
